2 Fort Hall Indian Reservation The Fort Hall Indian Reservation was established by the Fort Bridger Treaty of 1868 as a 1.8 million acre homeland for the Shoshone and Bannock Indian Tribes. Today the reservation consists of 544,000 acres of which the Tribes own 96%. Enrolled Members ~ 5,200
3 Agency Jurisdiction The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes are located in Southeast Idaho eight miles north of Pocatello along Interstate 15.

14 Response Program Description The Brownfields Site definition is found in Public Law (H.R. 2869) - "Small Business Liability Relief and Brownfields Revitalization Act" signed into law January 11, With certain legal exclusions and additions, the term 'brownfield sites' means real property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant.
15 EWMP Response Program Definition The Shoshone Bannock Tribes Brownfields program provides identification, assessment, cleanup, oversight and monitoring of sites within the reservation that contain contaminants, pollutants or other materials with the potential to adversely affect human health and the environment. The program continues to identify contaminated sites, provide oversight of contaminated sites and works on program planning and management, establishing and enhancing elements of the program for site specific activities.
