Key words; work life balance, women INTRODUCTION Women of the early centuries were mostly narrowed to their kitchens and those who were employed worked in factories, farms or shop works. Very rare woman s had the admission to higher education and they were forced to be at the clemency of their fathers or husbands insolences towards women and work. The fast developing knowledge economy has given place for more number of women to be open-minded by higher education. Education has not only permitted them but also has given them tough careers. With brain power being the essential skill in this knowledge era, rather than strength or physical strength, the women workers seem to torrent into every industry on balance with men. But this has really become a tough challenge for women as they have to achieve a lot of duties in home and office as well. As working women get married, they have additional duties and when they become mothers, they have to manage the main care of children and protracted family and are thus, under countless pressure to continue on a career path. Working mothers of today fulfill family responsibilities and also try to continue fully involved in their careers managing up with the challenging demands of their multiple roles. The caring responsibilities that working mothers have lays a hefty stress on them when it is joint with their professional duties. The attempt of working women to participate, organize and balance the various problems and activities in their different roles concurrently puts them under tremendous pressure. Work Life Balance of Women employee has become an important subject then the women are equally sharing the earning responsibility for the advancement of their family. Women are getting into jobs and they continue to work even after marriage. A married woman has more responsibility than man in taking care of young kids and family. The working women professionally overcome difficult situations by their obligation and perseverance. The participation of women in income generation activities lends them to satisfy their family needs to a countless extent. This paper aims to review the existing literature on Work Life Balance of Women Employee with an identification of various characteristics towards the achievement of work life balance. This study concludes the reason behind women s work life imbalance icmrrjournal@gmail.com
