Dear Aramark Front Line Manager: Aramark people bring together insight and ingenuity to deliver inventive thinking, with every opportunity small and large, to create experiences that matter. Great work happens when we work together as a team, put the front line first, and set goals, act and win. These are the values that set Aramark apart so let s recognize the people who live these values every day on the job. That s the purpose of our global Appreciation, Rewards and Recognition program. The program is for every Aramark employee because we all create experiences that enrich and nourish lives. This Guide will provide you with the tools you need to notice and appreciate great work at Aramark. We re building a culture of appreciation at Aramark. A culture where innovation and service excellence are noticed. Where we recognize the difference you make at the moment of truth. Your efforts call for a round of applause. Encore! Encore! Encore! provides us all with an opportunity to recognize the great work that our colleagues are doing. Our appreciation website is where you send and receive appreciation. Note: an employee does not need an Aramark address to give or receive recognition. Log in using your employee ID number as your user name. User name instructions are found on the sign in page. For your temporary password use aramark. If you d like to change your preferred language, select your language for the site underneath the log in box. The following sections outline each recognition level, along with instructions on how to give each level of appreciation and how to receive it. Be sure to share the Quick Guide for Employees with your employees so they have instructions for giving and receiving appreciation as well.

2 Notice Effort: Thanks Who has impressed you lately? Has a service star delighted a customer or inspired the team? Say thanks! by sending them an ecard to show you notice their efforts. Everyone loves to receive thanks. So be great at noticing the little efforts that add up to big success at Aramark. How to give an ecard: Select Recognition Type: ecard. Select Program: Notice Effort or Celebrate Milestones. Select an ecard and follow the on-screen instructions. All employees can send and receive ethanks. How to receive an ecard: You will receive an * with your ecard. Simply click on the link provided in the to view the card. You can also print it by clicking on Print a copy. OR, you can access via the program website: Click the Alert Bell on the home page. Select the ecard from the dropdown list. *Note: Recipients will receive an notification about their card. If an employee doesn t have an Aramark address, the employee s manager will receive the to share with the employee. To view all cards you have received and given, click on My Account on the top navigation. Notice Effort: Spot Awards Have you noticed someone adding an extra measure of effort to provide value for clients, consumers or team members? Reward them with a Spot Award, which any employee can redeem for great gifts from the online Encore! Encore! catalog. Only managers can give a Spot Award. All employees are eligible to receive one. How to give a Spot Award: Select Recognition Type: Award Nomination. Select Program: Notice Effort. Follow the on-screen instructions. Print the award certificate to present it to the employee. You can also order printed Spot Award Cards in bundles of 10 by accessing the Toolbox on the website. How to redeem a Spot Award Card: Enter the Reward Code shown on the card into the Claim a Code box on the homepage. Enter the name of the manager who appreciated you. Click the Deposit button. Select an award of your choice from the online catalog. Spot Award Congratulations! You ve been caught adding extra effort and value to your work and we applaud it! Reward yourself by visiting and claiming the code below. Reward Code: x0x0x0x0x0 How to redeem a Spot Award Certificate: Click the Alert Bell on the homepage. Select Redeem to order from the catalog.

3 Reward Results: Achievement Awards Has an employee or group exceeded expectations? Turned in a significant performance in safety, customer service, building local communities, innovation, or wellness? Celebrate their actions with an Achievement Award. These Awards, given to individuals or teams, recognize exceptional performance at Aramark in three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. The online nomination form (nomination wizard ) helps determine which level is most appropriate for the achievement. Only managers can nominate. All employees (individuals or teams) are eligible to be recognized. How to nominate for an Achievement Award: Select Recognition Type: Award Nomination. Select Program: Reward Results. Follow the on-screen instructions. You ll answer a few questions about what s being recognized and why, and the website s nomination wizard will determine the award level (Bronze, Silver, or Gold). Note: Achievement Award nominations will automatically route to the employee s manager for approval. The manager will receive an notifying him/her that there is a nomination awaiting review/approval. Please review promptly. If the employee s manager is the nominator, the nomination will route to the manager above the employee s manager for approval. Once the manager has approved the nomination, the Nominator will receive the presentation and will be able to print an award certificate to present to the employee. For team awards, simply enter in the additional team member names when prompted to enter nominee s first and last name. How to view approvals and presentations (certificates) that are pending action from you: Click Toolbox on the home page. Review any Pending Approvals that are listed. Note: You will also receive an notification with a link to prepare the presentation certificate. How to redeem an Achievement Award: Click the Alert Bell on the homepage. For Bronze and Silver Awards, select Redeem to order from the gift catalog. For Gold Awards, select the cash award option from the catalog. 4 Honor the Extraordinary: Platinum Awards Has an employee or team accomplished work that falls outside of their normal role? Shown extraordinary effort and initiative? Performed with meticulous focus and follow-through in overcoming significant obstacles? Celebrate their achievements with a Platinum Award. Honor the Extraordinary recipients can be nominated for Platinum Awards available in three levels: Platinum 1, Platinum 2 and Platinum 3. Each level represents a step up in insight, innovation and impact. A brief description of each level is found on the website. Platinum awards are issued in cash distributed through payroll. Only managers can nominate an individual or a team. All employees are eligible to receive this prestigious award. However, unlike our other recognition levels of Bronze, Silver and Gold, these nominations are reviewed at a much higher level. Nominations for a Platinum Award should be discussed with your HRVP, President and/or COO before the nominations are entered into the system. Once you gain verbal approval to proceed, you can enter the nomination into the system. Your HRVP has the authority to approve these nominations. The COO/COE of the business/function and/or country will also be informed of the actual nomination before approval is processed. How to nominate for a Platinum Award: Select Recognition Type: Award Nomination. Select Program: Honor the Extraordinary. Follow the on-screen instructions. You ll answer a few questions about what s being recognized and why, and the website s nomination wizard will determine the award level (Platinum 1, 2 or 3). Enter the Description of Achievement and Thank You message. Select your business unit (for US) or your country from the drop down list, and the nomination will be sent to the appropriate HRVP for review. You must add your RVP / business leader and HR Director to the CC (copy another person) field at the end of the nomination process. In addition, the employee s direct supervisor will automatically be notified of the nomination. If approved by the HRVP, notification will be sent to the nominator, who will print a special Platinum certificate and present the award to the recipient. The recipient will receive the cash award payout through payroll, based on the Platinum level chosen. 5 How to differentiate among awards: Here are suggestions for when to send an ethanks and when to give a Spot, Achievement, or Platinum Award: Send an ecard when a co-worker s effort makes you smile, or you want to say nice job. Give a Spot Award when effort is above and beyond daily tasks. Nominate for an Achievement Award when: Critical deadlines are met in the face of a great challenge Innovative ideas improve our business or operations Achievements strengthen fiscal performance Nominate for a Platinum Award when there is: Successful completion of a large-scale, high-profile (i.e., press worthy), company-impactful event Innovation or service excellence that has an extraordinary impact on our consumers, clients, workplace or the world around us (e.g., Super Bowl) Implementation of a several month-long initiative that significantly improves our operational excellence Note: Gold Achievement and Platinum Awards are issued in cash. Celebrate Milestones Let s not forget career and personal milestones An employee s first day at Aramark. A birthday. Significant career anniversaries. These are milestones for our employees and for Aramark. The appreciation website is the place to celebrate! Send an ecard to honor an employee s birthday, career anniversary or onboarding. (See instructions under Notice Effort: Thanks.) And for a significant career anniversary, Aramark shows appreciation with special Milestone Awards. Employee s will be able to select a special gift from the online Yearbook catalog that features career awards tailored to the anniversary an employee is celebrating.

Achievement Awards Recognizes significant achievement in safety, customer service, community, innovation, wellness, etc. Employee s choice of gift for Bronze and Silver levels. Cash Award for Gold. Any Employee (individual or team) Online wizard calculates achievement to determine Bronze, Silver, or Gold level. Employee s manager must approve. Platinum Awards Celebrates extraordinary effort and initiative Cash awards given at three levels: Platinum 1, Platinum 2, and Platinum 3. Any Employee (individual or team) Special cash award that requires prior approval from your HRVP, President and/or COO. Milestone Awards Celebrates career milestones (5-year increments) Employee chooses gift (within milestone level) from online Yearbook catalog Aramark All Employees Employee Appreciation Day Celebrates employees and thanks them for contributions A meaningful EAD celebration All Employees Questions?
