7 RESOLVING CONFLICTS & DISPUTES Every organisation encounters difficulty and conflict with individuals, within teams and even across the business at some stage. Conflict is natural but managing it is not always so! Sometimes issues cannot be resolved internally and involving an external party is the most effective strategy to manage the situation and minimise risk. 5
8 DISPUTE RESOLUTION SERVICES LifeWorks in the Workplace provides: holistic responses to workplace conflicts which can include independent workplace assessments, facilitated meetings, and coaching highly qualified and experienced workplace mediators and mediation services. specialised and professional Bully and Harassment Response Services, including independent Workplace investigations. 9 COACHING & CAREER COACHING Coaching is the practice of supporting an individual to define and achieve their goals. The main role of a coach is as an enabler, a sounding board, an educator, and a motivator. The achievement of identified goals often leads to increased professional skill and results, and greater enjoyment and engagement in work. 7
10 COACHING SERVICES LifeWorks in the Workplace offers coaching to individuals and groups, which can be delivered onsite, at our Melbourne office or over the phone. The areas that coaching can assist include: increasing an individual s self-awareness, communication skills and ability to work more effectively with colleagues building greater confidence and influence while reducing work-related stress. assisting staff to manage difficult and changing work situations. LifeWorks in the Workplace also provides Outplacement Services to assist individuals and groups of employees through their career transition. Very informative and enjoyable, and a very understanding, approachable and interactive consultant. The training provided practical strategies and tools that can now be used back on the job. 11 COMPLIANCE & RISK MANAGEMENT LifeWorks partners with Learning Seat to offer an elearning Equal Opportunity Training module for workplaces. The training module, developed in consultation with the law firm Landers and Rogers is an effective way for organisations to meet their legal obligations under the Equal Opportunity Act 2010, while building a stronger more inclusive and respectful workplace. 9

14 ABOUT EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free and confidential counselling service offered by employers to their employees to support their wellbeing in the workplace and in their personal lives. Depending on the employer s arrangement, EAP may also extend to immediate family members. Research has shown that EAPs: support staff, improve performance and build culture assist in managing potential physiological and psychological risks save money by reducing employee absenteeism and improving productivity.
