1 Position: Concessions manager for Elmcrest Park. Compensation: $10 an hour. Overview: The concessions manager is in charge of overseeing the concessions stand during the soccer season. The manager is responsible for instructing rec soccer parent volunteers on the proper care and handling of food and equipment. The manager will be on site from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday for the Spring 2017 season. The manager will open and close the concessions stand, including the cleaning of the stand and running a register report at the end of the night. The manager will, with guidance from the Concessions Board lead, determine how much food to prepare for the night. Sales will include hot dogs, pretzels, nachos, popcorn, candy, hot and cold beverages and frozen treats. The manager will, with the help of volunteers most nights, take orders from customers, enter them into an IPAD, take payment from customers and prepare food. The manager will train volunteers to handle various positions throughout the shift. The manager will insure the stand is cleaned and properly sanitized each night before closing. The manger will insure the storage room, concessions stand, bathrooms, and all building doors are locked before leaving the premises. The manager will stay in communication with the concessions board lead regarding inventory and sales. The concessions stand will be closed when soccer is cancelled for weather. The position can be split among two employees, each handling two nights a week. Absences must be communicated at least two weeks in advance so a replacement can be found. Qualifications: Must be able to make change, enter orders into an IPAD, prepare food following safehandling procedures. Length of Appointment: 1 season, fall or spring. Time Commitment: Approximate time commitment is 10 hours per week but will vary based upon the month of the year. Qualifications: Must be able to open and close the stand by themselves, provide positive interactions with our membership. Must be self-motivated and require minimal supervision or oversight and possess strong leadership qualities. Candidate must pass criminal background check to be eligible for consideration. Position: Rec Director, voting NLSC board member position The Rec Director will, ideally, be supported by a team made up of six committee members, three representing the girls teams and three representing the boys teams. All Rec Director tasks and decisions will be overseen by the club DOC. The DOC will set the timeline for tasks to be completed and the Rec Director will guide the rec committee to complete those tasks according to schedule. Tasks: Attend monthly NLSC board meetings. Schedule and lead monthly Rec Committee meetings. Work a full-day shift at either Jamboree, Spring or Fall Super Soccer Saturday.
2 The director, in communication with the DOC, will determine the proposed price for Rec soccer programming and propose it to the board. Includes both fall and spring seasons. With the guidance of the DOC, the rec director will determine the start and end date of the season, weather make-up days, photo days and training days. The director will, with the help of the DOC, outline the benefits of the program and the style of the program. The director will determine the ratio of game play to practice time. The director will, with the help of the DOC, create documents that guide our volunteer rec coaches. In addition, the director, with the help of the DOC, will set a training meeting for all coaches prior to the start of every season. During this training meeting a portion will be dedicated to actual instruction, showing coaches how to work with kids on the field. The director will work with the equipment director to determine what equipment will be handed out to coaches. The equipment director will then organize the proper equipment and handle the hand out procedures along with the checking in of equipment. The director will oversee the assigning of children to teams based on incoming registration numbers. The director will handle buddy requests for special circumstances. The director will, with the help of their team, create a schedule for overseeing the fields nightly. The director will make a call on the weather, with the help of the DOC and president, in determining a weather cancellation. The director will work closely with the Communications Director and the Registrar who will then communicate via , fliers and marketing to the membership and the community abroad. The director will oversee a committee of six people who will be in charge of: - 1. Scheduling pictures for the entire rec program, distributing photo information, organizing teams on site on photo nights. Assisting the tournament director in organizing Super Soccer Saturday for fall and spring Ordering and organizing uniforms for each season, handing out uniforms Ongoing coach oversite and training. A committee member for boys and a committee member for girls teams Assigning children to teams based on incoming registration numbers Scheduling teams on the field. In the event that any of the 6 rec committee positions are unfilled, the director will handle those responsibilities. Time Commitment: Approximate time commitment is 5 hours per week and will vary based upon the month of the year. Qualifications: Strong writing and organizational skills; knowledge of computers with data entry, word processing and capability are mandatory. Pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, dependability and wellspoken individuals are required. Must be self-motivated and require minimal supervision or oversight and possess strong leadership qualities. Candidate must pass criminal background check to be eligible for consideration. Compensation: End of year reimbursement of registration fees for director s child(ren) to play Fall and/or Spring Rec and/or Travel Soccer. Reimbursement available after one full year of service. Term: Two years.

Number of positions open: 6 Task: The Rec Committee will help the Rec Director in planning and organizing the Rec soccer season from beginning to end. Committee members will be tasked in one specific area and asked to take the lead on organizing their specific task with oversight from the Rec Director and the Director of Coaching. The director will oversee a committee of six people who will be in charge of: - 1. Scheduling pictures for the entire rec program, distributing photo information, organizing teams on site on photo nights. Assisting the tournament director in organizing Super Soccer Saturday for fall and spring Ordering and organizing uniforms for each season, handing out uniforms Ongoing coach oversight and training. A committee member for boys and a committee member for girls teams will help provide coaches with training documents created by the DOC, will answer coach questions and be available for on-field training of the coaches who request assistance Assigning children to teams based on incoming registration numbers Scheduling teams on the field. - Time Commitment: Approximate time commitment is 2 hours per week and will vary based upon the month of the year. - - Qualifications: Strong writing and organizational skills; knowledge of computers with data entry, word processing and capability are mandatory. Pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, dependability and well-spoken individuals are required. Must be self-motivated and require minimal supervision or oversight and possess strong leadership qualities. Candidate must pass criminal background check to be eligible for consideration Coach oversight and training positions (2): Attend all monthly NLSC Rec Committee meetings. Works with Recreational Soccer Directors to fill coaching needs for Recreational program. Organize coaches folders to be handed out at coaches meeting. Works with NLSC Director of Coaching and Player Development to coordinate training for coaches at coaches meeting. Coordinates coach gift order as well as distributes gifts at coaches meeting. Periodically attends games and practices to observe performance of Recreational coaches. Responds to parent/player/peer concerns about coaches or coaching techniques and addresses issues in a constructive and positive manner. Maintain electronic copies of all activities and files in NLSC preferred software format. Also maintain hardcopy records of receipts, orders, invoices, quotes, inventories and all other financial transactions. Keep an open line of communication with coaches to keep them updated on rules and policies. Update all documentation that needs to be handed out to the coaches.
4 Helps to organize the end-of-season tournament, Super Soccer Saturday. Length of Appointment: 1 year Time Commitment: Approximate time commitment is 2-5 hours per week and will vary based upon the month of the year. April and July will require longer time commitment. Photo Coordinator/Tournament Assistant: Attend all monthly NLSC Rec Committee meetings. Research picture companies for the purpose of providing reasonable cost and turn-around of pictures for all soccer programs Work with Program Directors to arrange picture dates & schedules with picture company Provide Program Directors with picture packet information for each team prior to their preseason coaches meeting Assist on picture day to ensure a smooth process Provide sponsorship pictures to Sponsorship Director Maintain electronic copies of all activities and files in NLS preferred software format. Also maintain hardcopy records of receipts, orders, invoices, quotes, inventories and all other financial transactions. Length of Appointment: 1 year Time Commitment: 1 hour per week depending on time of the year. Uniform Coordinator: Attend all monthly NLSC Rec Committee meetings. Research uniform vendors for products and assist in the development of the recreational budget process. Responsible for the purchase and distribution of all uniforms Responsible for the purchase and distribution of Rec coaches shirts Coordinate with Webmaster and NLS Committee to publish any uniform sizing dates, times and location information on the NLS website. Maintain electronic copies of all activities and files in NLS preferred software format. Also maintain hardcopy records of receipts, orders, invoices, quotes, inventories and all other financial transactions. Turn in monthly financial transaction receipts to treasurer and keep a copy in Uniform Director files. Length of Appointment: 2 years. Time Commitment: Approximate time commitment is 2 hours per week and will vary based upon the month of the year. Rec Field Scheduling Director: Attends all monthly NLSC Rec Committee meetings. Works with NLSC Rec Director to coordinate the recreational seasons. Creates all schedules for Recreational program. Creates all schedules for Super Soccer Saturday. Work with photo coordinator to include photo schedule in initial plans. Work with Referee Assigner to coordinate appropriate personnel for all games. Keep Referee Assigner updated with the latest Recreational Soccer Rules and Policies Manual.
5 Coordinates Referee equipment to be available at the park. Work with the DOO to coordinate field and building reservations. Maintain electronic copies of all activities and files in NLSC preferred software format. Also maintain hardcopy records of receipts, orders, invoices, quotes, inventories and all other financial transactions. Update all schedule documentation that pertains to the current soccer session. Helps to organize the end-of-season tournament, Super Soccer Saturday. Length of Appointment: 1 year. Time Commitment: Approximate time commitment is 2 hours per week and will vary based upon the month of the year. April, July, and August will require a longer time commitment. Team Assignor: Uses incoming registration numbers to create teams and assign players to those teams. Use color and number coordination to assign each team a jersey color and a team number, in coordination with the uniform coordinator. Maintain an ongoing database of players. Communicate the team assignments to the Communications Director. Respond to parent s regarding team placement and buddy requests granted for special circumstances. Length of appointment: 1 year Time Commitment: Approximate time commitment is 2 hours per week and will vary based on the time of the year, April, July and August will require a longer time commitment. Position: Tournament Director in-training The tournament director handles the oversight, planning and organization of all NSLC tournaments including summer and fall Super Soccer Saturdays as well as a club-hosted tournament and the annual MYSA Fall Jamboree. Tasks: Attends all monthly NLSC board meetings. The tournament director reports to the NLSC Board to propose ideas and overall plans for the annual tournaments. The director will create a list of volunteer positions and time slots needed for each event and communicate that list to the Volunteer Coordinator. The director will outline the dates and times for all events a year in advance when possible and communicate them to the DOO and the Communication Director. Ensures that all policies of MYSA, ARAA and NLSC are adhered to and enforced. Coordinates with Director of Operations and Fundraising Director to establish a budget and feasibility proposal. Works with Communications Director and Webmaster to promote events. The director will work with the Concessions Director to plan food needed for the event and/or communicate vendors planned for each event.
6 The director will get the number of registered teams to the field coordinator so they can plan proper field space. Typically game scheduling for tournament days are handled by the Rec Director and the state, respectively but the tournament director should provide guidance on the schedules to insure a proper lunch break, weather delay plan, and spacing in between games. The tournament director will work with the city and the field director to insure proper field striping. The tournament director will handle outside vendor contracts including, but not limited to, food vendors, garbage collection vendors, bathroom vendors, inflatable vendors, golf cart vendors and souvenier vendors. The tournament director will order all medals/trophies for the given seasons. The tournament director will oversee all aspects of the tournament, insuring game play goes smoothly and that all liability issues are covered (ie Planning for Police presence, permits, insurance etc). The tournament director will attend monthly board meetings, missing no more than 3 in any given calendar year. Work full-day shifts during all tournaments to provide oversight. Ensures that all invoices are turned in from prompt payment. Coordinate with Treasurer to ensure all financial obligations are concluded in a timely manner. Turn in monthly financial transaction receipts to treasurer and keep a copy in Tournament Director files. Time Commitment: Approximate time commitment is 5 hours per week and will vary based upon the month of the year. Qualifications: Strong writing and organizational skills; knowledge of computers with data entry, word processing and capability are mandatory. Pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, dependability and wellspoken individuals are required. Must be self-motivated and require minimal supervision or oversight and possess strong leadership qualities. Candidate must pass criminal background check to be eligible for consideration. Compensation: Volunteer position that will transition into Tournament Director. Once becoming the Tournament Director the candidate will receive end of year reimbursement of registration fees for director s child(ren) to play Fall and/or Spring Rec and/or Travel Soccer. Reimbursement available after one full year of service. This is a NLSC voting board member position. Term: One year in training, two years in Director role.
7 Position: Vice President The Vice President provides leadership and oversight for all NLSC board member positions and functionalities. Attend all monthly NLSC Committee meetings and other noteworthy events. Administers Club policies consistently and fairly as needed per Club goals Actively involved in recruitment of committee positions Acts as a mentor for new volunteers Assists President in daily function of Club To perform all duties of the President in the absence of the President To succeed the President in the office in event of resignation or death Attends all ARAA Board and MYSA meetings in the absence of the President Reviews / approves newsletter articles Works with Communications Director to promote the sport of soccer in Ramsey Maintain electronic copies of all activities and files in NLS preferred software format. Also maintain hardcopy records of receipts, orders, invoices, quotes, inventories and all other financial transactions. Turn in monthly financial transaction receipts to treasurer and keep a copy in Vice-President files. Length of Appointment: 2 years. Time Commitment: Approximate time commitment is 5 hours per week and will vary based upon the month of the year. Qualifications: Strong writing and organizational skills; knowledge of computers with data entry, word processing and capability are mandatory. Pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, dependability and wellspoken individuals are required. Must be self-motivated and require minimal supervision or oversight and possess strong leadership qualities. Candidate must pass criminal background check to be eligible for consideration. Compensation: The candidate will receive end of year reimbursement of registration fees for director s child(ren) to play Fall and/or Spring Rec and/or Travel Soccer. Position: Secretary Attends all Club meetings for which minutes must be taken and document meeting activities. Create, track and maintain committee action item list. Distribute minutes at each meeting or via to all committee members for approval Forwards approved minutes to webmaster via for posting on the website Updates and maintains Club Policies and Procedures Manual and insures compliance with ARAA bylaws.
8 Length of Appointment: 2 years, this is a NLSC voting board member position. Time Commitment: Approximate time commitment is 5 hours per month. Qualifications: Strong writing and organizational skills; knowledge of computers with data entry, word processing and capability are mandatory. Pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, dependability and wellspoken individuals are required. Must be self-motivated and require minimal supervision or oversight and possess strong leadership qualities. Candidate must pass criminal background check to be eligible for consideration. Also maintain hardcopy records of receipts, orders, invoices, quotes, inventories and all other financial transactions. Reports to: Northern Lights Soccer Club Committee as a voting member of the board. Also serves as the Chairperson of the Budget Committee Length of Appointment: The Treasurer term is for a period of two years. Term begins in January of odd numbered years. Time Commitment: Approximate time commitment is 10 hours per week but will vary based upon the month of the year. Qualifications: Strong organizational skills; knowledge of computers with data entry, word processing and capability. Pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, dependability and self sufficiency are mandatory and knowledge of general accounting practices is required. Experience in accounting software used by Northern Lights SC is a plus. Candidate must pass criminal background check to be eligible for consideration.
