1 Scarborough Premier Cricket Club Club Role Descriptions Season Supported by

2 President Brendan Carvalho Job Title: President Reports: Have a good working knowledge of the club, rules, constitution etc. Ability to delegate Be approachable Experience in a leadership role Well-developed decision making skills Experience with planning and operations Ability to manage and negotiate successfully between members and lead meetings Be receptive to change Dedicated club person Key Roles/Responsibilities and Expectations Attend Cricket Association meetings as required. Manage committee meetings/chair meetings. Ensure Managers and Committee Members fulfill their responsibilities to the Club. Act as the clubs official spokesperson in matters of public concern. Facilitate planning. Oversee all targets and performance goals. Preside at all meetings of the Club and shall have a casting vote. Report activities of the portfolio to the membership of the Annual General Meeting. Ensure that planning and budgeting for the future is carried out in accordance with the wishes of the members. Adopt risk management, smoke free, sun smart, code of conduct and safe alcohol policies. Liaise with stakeholders such as local council and local community groups. Establish club strategic plan. Provide guidance and leadership. To be a leader at the club but not to control. Engage new members, volunteers and parents to get involved in the club. Encourage and ensure that the captains undertake their roles appropriately and successfully. Formalise and approve all paid positions i.e. coaches, Curator, scorer, cleaners etc. Required hours a week Other Attend all Delegate meetings when delegate is not available.

Oversee and ensure that all sub-committees are responsible and accountable. Where possible should assume the role of Chairman of Selectors or alternatively compile a list of appropriate candidates for ultimate ratification by the full committee. 4 Secretary- Kurt Smith Job Title: Secretary Well-developed communication skills Able control and supervise others Good organisational skills Ability to organise and delegate tasks Effective communication skills Ability to liaise with external parties Report writing skills Key Roles/Responsibilities and Expectations Convene all club meetings and advise all potential attendees. Provide secretarial support to the committee, including preparing agendas in consultation with the President. Prepare, distribute and file minutes of all committee and General meetings of the Club. Complete Annual Reports as required for the Incorporations Act. Prepare a comprehensive report of all activities of the Club for the presentation to the membership at the AGM. Maintain an accurate copy of the Rules and By-Laws of the Club. Maintain a register of all members, sponsors and other relevant groups. Be familiar with the rules of the Club, League, Commission, and State Sporting Association. Receive all correspondence directed to the Club, inform President, react, follow-up and distribute to members. Ensure all licenses required by the Club are current. Liaise with the association regarding registrations, player transfers, and complete other required paperwork. Act as the Public Officer of the Club (Incorporated Association). Maintain file of contacts for purchases e.g. Letterheads, glasses etc. Communicate with local government and ensure all grounds are booked. Liaise with the local media, clubs and other community organisations if needed 6-7 hours a fortnight

5 Treasurer Matthew Smith Job Title: Treasurer Financial awareness Honesty and trustworthiness Ability to keep accurate records Attention to detail Able to work in a logical and orderly manner Willing to learn new skills if necessary Key Roles/Responsibilities and Expectations Present to the committee on a monthly basis monthly financial report comparing actuals to budgets. Maintain up to date records of all income and expenditure Maintain the club s cash flow Prepare and distribute invoices/accounts for services rendered Attend monthly club committee meetings and provide a financial report Make details of all accounts available to the Committee and members Prepare financial accounts suitable for auditing and provide the auditor with all necessary information Report activities of the portfolio to the membership at the AGM 6-7 hours a fortnight

6 Sponsorship Manager and Sub committee Bevan Tyler Darren Beazley Job Title: Fundraising Manager and Sub Committee Reports: Full Committee Financial background and awareness Experience in developing and maintaining sponsorship relationships Honesty and trustworthiness Knowledge of sales Attention to detail Key Roles/ Responsibilities and Expectations Present to the club to potential new sponsors and assess the need for grants or sponsorship Develop proposals in order to send to different organizations in order to solicit sponsorships Draft contracts and research corporate projects through different media channels Create and implement plans to attain sponsorships from different grant providers Meet clients and explain to them the need for grants and their eventual benefits Implement sponsorship strategies in order to maximize revenues Ensure appropriate delivery of sponsorship programs at every level. Handle negotiations with sponsors and ensure that the agreement that has been reached is the closest to the objective of the plan Plan, coordinate and implement events to bring together possible sponsors. Act as a liaison between sponsors and the cricket club. Ensure the delivery of agreed sponsor benefits successfully Develop appropriate correspondence such as proposals, thank you letters and program outcome information 2-3 hours a fortnight

8 Junior WACA Delegate Dave Pullinger Job Title: Junior WACA Delegate Sound communication skills Support to all members and can keep each member informed of any changes Excellent management skills Excellent knowledge of Premier cricket and junior pathways Excellent knowledge of community clubs that feed into premier cricket Excellent understanding of the private and government school system Key Roles & Responsibilities and Expectations Feed information back to Committee from the WADCC Ensure all Grant requirements are communicated back and actioned Attend WACA delegates meetings when required Discuss with other delegates opportunities to improve the competitions 4-5 hours a month

9 Junior coordinator Dave Pullinger Job Title: Junior coordinator Sound communication skills Support to all members and can keep each member informed of any changes Excellent management skills Excellent knowledge of Premier cricket and junior pathways Excellent knowledge of community clubs that feed into premier cricket Excellent understanding of the private and government school system Key Roles & Responsibilities and Expectations Feed information back to Committee on status of junior program. Grant requirements are communicated back and actioned relating to juniors Oversee the junior cricket coaches and manager appointments Oversee the trial process and monitor players in each junior age group Hold Junior coaches meetings and involve the senior coaches when required Submits to committee for approval coaches and assistance coaches for junior teams. 5 to 10 hours a month

10 Promotions and Communications Coordinator To be developed and filled Job Title: Promotions and Communications Coordinator A commitment to the values and behaviours of the Club as defined in the Club Charter Able to publicly represent the Club Experience of working collaboratively with others Experience with Social Media platforms e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, etc. Good organisational skills Key Roles & Responsibilities and Expectations Develop / implement a promotional plan for the club Utilise MyCricket to enter scores and send out any important information regarding game cancellations, function reminders, etc. through SMS and functionality. Write media release regarding any news items and upcoming events Submit club and individual team results to association / league Prepare club newsletters and reports Assist with attracting and securing sponsorship Promote Club Activities & News through Club Social Media outlets Placing sponsorship in newsletters Main contact person for all media requirements Assist committee with marketing and new business ideas hours a month

14 Junior Coach Coordinator Geoff Lynes Job Title: Junior Co-ordinator Organised and effective communication skills Excellent management skills Excellent knowledge of Premier cricket junior programs and awareness of coaching structures and skill requirements. Level 2 accreditation preferable or working towards Ability to liaise with others coaches, parents and junior players Key Roles/ Responsibilities and Expectations Support the set up and delivery of framework junior coaches to operate. Covers pre-season and post and linked to specific skill and physical requirements of players Ensure all coaches and players working towards the one goal of the club Work with coaches regarding squad sizes and makeup allowing for changes for future changes Liaise with SCC feeder clubs regarding trials and selection criteria for selection in SCC junior program Working with coaches in creating a culture that supports SCC 5-10 hours a week

15 The Players Committee (Comprising of three former senior players) Job Title: Players Committee Reports: SCC Committee Role To manage situations associated with Players Performance, behaviour and with situations associated with maintaining optimum playing conditions for the SCC players to operate under. Composition To ensure the neutrality of the Players committee and enhance its capacity to operate at arm s length from the SCC committee the following conditions will apply to the composition: No current coach or captain is eligible No existing committee member except the President or his nominee is eligible No Parent or relative of current players are eligible Must be a paid member of the SCC or a Life member Excellent knowledge of Premier cricket and experience as most senior levels of the game Good communications skills Ability to liaise with others Key Roles/ Responsibilities and Expectations Recommend to the committee coaches, four senior grade captains, club selectors and club practice captain Investigate and adjudicate any player, coach or support breach of the clubs code of conduct Oversee players clearance applications 6-7 hours every three months

16 The Board of Trustee (Three members) Job Title: The Board of Trustee Reports: SCC Committee Role To is to provide the SCC with a financial safety net to safe guard the continued existence, success and availability of the SCC to the community. Excellent knowledge of Premier cricket and experience as the most senior levels of the game for SCC both as are player and administrator Life Member of the SCC Good communications skills Ability to liaise with others Key Roles/ Responsibilities and Expectations Identification of candidates to be recommended for life membership of the SCC. Details report to be provided to committee for approval Review for approval all non-cricket and playing capital expenditure items. Details of requests for special expenditure over $1000 are presented for consideration to the SCC committee 4-5 hours every six months

17 Scorer Job Title: Scorer High level communication skills Honesty and trustworthiness Extremely well organised Key Roles and Responsibilities Receive confirmation of selected Team from Team Manager or Captain. Record the events of the match manually (scorebook) and/or via Live Scoring (e.g. MyCricket Scorer App) as they occur throughout the duration of the day s play. Liaise with scorer from opposition team during the day to maintain accuracy of entries in the scorebook or on Live Scoring. Provide completed scores to Results Officer for uploading (if using scorebook) at completion of the day s play or upload at venue through MyCricket Scorer App. 5-8 hours (game day)

18 Curator Job Title: Curator Reports: Players Committee and President High level communication skills Can work under pressure with minimum supervision Must have completed an appropriate Certificate in field of Turf Management or equivalent and know how to operate work-relevant machinery (e.g. Roller, Mower, etc.) and Resource Management Previous experience as a Curator or in Ground Maintenance Key Roles and Responsibilities Prepare, maintain and repair the playing surfaces, outfields, practice areas, junior pitches and landscapes during the week and on match days when required Produce cricket pitch plan in line with fixture lists in advance of season Communication with Club Coach regarding access to facilities for Training purposes Develop, implement and monitor a yearly turf management plan Conduct or schedule all routine machinery and irrigation maintenance Develop and maintain an Asset Register for all Facilities related equipment and conduct inventory control on turf related products. Proactively promote and comply with all OHS policies and procedures Monitor and oversee pest control hours a week + Weekends (paid role)

19 Head Coach Job Title: Head Coach Reports: Players Committee and President Ability to create an environment for Premier cricketers to thrive and have success Ability to identify talented players A commitment to the values and behaviours of the Club as defined in the Club Code of Conduct Able to publicly represent the Club Experience of working collaboratively with others A patient, positive and encouraging manner with players (may include underage children) Good organisational skills Must hold a Working With Children Check and current Representative Coaching Accreditation (minimum) Knowledge of local cricket pathway structure Key Roles and Responsibilities Prepare, maintain and repair the playing surfaces, outfields, practice areas, junior pitches and landscapes during the week and on match days when required To drive and implement a coaching strategy based on The Australian Way Coaching Philosophy Adopt a holistic view to the on-going success of CT and achievement of strategic objectives. Plan the Club s pre-season and in-season training programmes with identified training phases that are recognised and deliverable by all appointed coaching staff. Coordinate pre-season and in-season training/development programmes (skills, strategy and physical preparation) in consultation with all Club appointed coaches, cricket specialists and players. Promote and support individual player Personal Development programs and initiatives Assist with Team Selection Attendance at State development opportunities to develop knowledge in coaching space (and if requirement for Premier Cricket grant funding). Liaise with Regional Cricket Manager and/or State Pathways Manager regarding Junior Pathways and any potential representatives from your Club. Operate within the agreed budget Travel to 1st XI matches (home and away) and provide support to the captain(s) as appropriate hours a week + Weekends (paid role)

20 Assistant Coach Job Title: Assistant Coach Reports: Players Committee and President Ability to create an environment for Premier cricketers to thrive and have success A commitment to the values and behaviours of the Club as defined in the Club Charter Able to publicly represent the Club Experience of working collaboratively with others A patient, positive and encouraging manner with players (may include underage players) Good organisational skills Must hold a Working With Children Check and a current Community Coaching Accreditation (minimum) Key Roles and Responsibilities Prepare, maintain and repair the playing surfaces, outfields, practice areas, junior pitches and landscapes during the week and on match days when required Assist with the implementation of the coaching strategy based on The Australian Way Coaching Philosophy Provide support to the appointed Head Coach with assistance in the co-ordination and management of the Senior squad preseason training, in season training and match days throughout the season Assist the appointed Head Coach with match day and training schedules Assist teams on match days where required throughout the season Liaise with team captains and Head Coach with regards to match day plans and roles Help to build a positive Club culture for all stakeholders To have a knowledge of all applicable competition rules relating to Premier Cricket Provide technical coaching and support where required to players where required on training and match days throughout the season 5-10 hours a week + Weekends (paid role)
