1 PSYCHOLOGICALLY HEALTHY WORKPLACES Practical Identification, Early Intervention & Management Skills Training 2016 Communicorp Group

2 Mental health and wellbeing are significant issues to contend with in the modern working environment. WHS/OH&S legislation means that all workplaces have a legal responsibility to provide psychologically safe and healthy workplaces but there is also substantial research to support the potential return on investment of proactive initiatives in this area. Awareness raising, basic EAP provisions and community/diagnosis-based mental health approaches are insufficient to realise the benefits of a psychologically safe and healthy workplace. In addition to effective workplace systems, policies and procedures, all employees, leaders, and executives need to have the skills and confidence to be able to recognise, respond to, and (dependent on role) manage, a broad spectrum of workplace mental health related matters as they arise. CommuniCorp s practical programs recognise the psychosocial, WHS, commercial, and productivity implications of mental health and wellbeing within the workplace and that good work, is good for people. Our workshops have been developed with adult learning principles in mind, ensuring that all are highly practical, interactive, role relevant and augmented by learning support resources. With delivery exclusively by expert senior psychologists, our program supports an organisation to develop the capabilities for promoting a psychologically heathly workplace responding to suspected or known mental health concerns; escalation, referral and support options; confidentiality matters; return to work issues; psychosocial risk factors; maintaining and managing staff in the workplace; and key legislation such as WHS, Disability Discrimination and SRC Acts. More than just information, this program helps to proactively support positive wellbeing and enables people to develop the practical, real world skills required to make a constructive impact on the emotional wellbeing of others at work

3 PROGRAM OVERVIEW CommuniCorp recognises the importance of delivering a sustainable program that provides ongoing improvements and commitment to developing a more psychologically healthy workplace, rather than a one-off or tokenistic approach.
