Then you need to get to know Bowie State University. Our students and alumni blend a solid educational foundation with competence, talent and experience that make them dynamic employees who produce results. This brochure outlines multiple ways you can recruit and build your brand at Bowie State University. Johnson, Ed.S., NCC, DCC Director, Career Development Center Recruitment Policies The Career Development Center does not participate in the determination of employment qualifications or the selection process for employers. We make employment information available to all interested students and alumni, and provide employers with such information as students and alumni have authorized us to release on their behalf. We assist employers in accordance with Federal regulations including, but not limited to, the EEOC Uniform Guidelines, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1992, as amended. The Career Development Center subscribes to the Principles for Professional Conduct as stated by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and expects employers using our services to do likewise. The Career Development Center reserves the right to refuse services to third party recruiters including, but not limited to, private licensed employment agencies, consulting agencies/ headhunters, temporary employment services, government employment agencies, clearinghouse operations and contract recruiting services. Nor will we provide student information to network marketing firms. Campus interviews, information sessions and information tables must be directly scheduled and conducted by the organization s employees, rather than by third party representatives. The Career Development Center reserves the right to decline to post positions if the Center has a question about the legitimacy of the job listing or the represented employer.

OCR options at Bowie State University include: Bulldogs 4 Hire Whether you are searching for interns or seeking to fill part-time and full-time career positions, we can connect you to a diverse pool of extremely qualified candidates. Employers can list entrylevel, mid-level, and high-level positions for Bowie State students and/or alumni, using our online job posting system, Bulldogs4Hire. Listing full-time and part-time internships and jobs is easy and FREE of charge! Simply log on and create an account. Once your profile has been approved, you can post positions, search for resumes, and manage your on-campus interview schedules. This will give our students and alumni 24/7 access to your listings. To create your account, go to com/employers/ On-Campus Interviews On-Campus Interviews allow you an opportunity to meet individually with multiple candidates in our private Interview Rooms. You can customize the on-campus interview schedule to fit your needs, including screening and pre-selecting all candidates and deciding on the length of interviews (anywhere from 15 minutes to 60 minutes). Interviews are conducted Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00am to 4:00 p.m. To schedule on-campus interviews, log onto your Bulldogs4Hire account, click Request on Campus Interview, complete the form then click Submit. Please allow 48 hours for a career counselor to respond to your request.

4 Information Tables Information Tables are a convenient way for your company to share information and career opportunities with students in an informal setting. Tables are set up in our student center, our highest student traffic area on campus, for up to four (4) hours. To request a date to visit campus, log onto your Bulldogs4Hire account, click Request Info Table, then click the drop-down menu under OCR Event Type and choose Info Table. Complete the form then click Submit. Recruitment dates are available for the months of October, November, February, March and April. All recruiters who participate in our On Campus Interviews and/or Information Table will receive a lunch voucher, free parking and recognition on our website as one of our Employer Partners. Career Fairs The Career Development Center hosts several career fairs throughout the academic year. This is an opportunity for employers to interact with the entire student body and speak one to one with students and alumni job seekers. Registration for these events is required. For more information about upcoming dates and fees, please visit the Employer pages on our website. Build Your Brand Looking for the best way to get your career opportunities in front of our students and alumni? The Career Development Center can help you spread the word about your organization and its opportunities. We can send campus-wide s, hang flyers and posters around campus, and post information on our Facebook page. Experiential Learning Experiential Learning is a university program where students are placed with employers in positions related to their major field of study and career interests. These programs provide students with the opportunity to utilize their academic training in the worldof-work and to gain practical work experience. A cooperative education or an internship falls under the guise of such a program. To receive assistance with developing your program, or information on how to participate in the BSU Internship Program, visit the Employer page of our website. Bowie Day Bowie Day is a component of the Career Development Center s (CDC) Experiential Learning Program. For students, Bowie Day gives them an opportunity to experience the workplace up close and personal. For employers, Bowie Day allows an opportunity to educate students about your organization its mission and career opportunities. Contact the CDC s Program Coordinator at careerdeveloment@bowiestate.edu for assistance with planning a Bowie Day program at your site. Practice Interview Program (PIP) The Practice Interview Program also provides employers the opportunity to build their brand on-campus and gain additional exposure to Bowie s students. Employers and Alumni volunteer to conduct 30 minute interviews (15 minutes for the interview; 15 minutes for feedback) which are conducted in the Career Development Center. If you are interested in participating, please complete our PIP form, found on the Employer pages of our website. Job Shadow Program The Job Shadow Program provides students the opportunity to explore occupations of interest to them. Students will be paired with a professional employed in their prospective occupation and will shadow them at their place of employment during the winter break (January) or spring break (March).
