3 Dear KU Community, You are invited you to attend our upcoming KU Career Fair 2018, which will take place on the Abu Dhabi campus.

4 Much more than a career fair AWARENESS Students can boost their awareness of career opportunities by meeting and interacting with industry representatives who offer perspectives on potential roles and provide information about taking what they have learned in the classroom into a workplace. The job market is becoming very competitive, so our students need to gain experience and information now. ENGAGEMENT This event allows for direct two-way communication between students and employers, which will reveal mutual interests and will pave the way for students to start building a professional network. Employers will have the opportunity to liaise with potential new employees, and will observe the high quality of our students in regards to education, experience and ambition. OPPORTUNITIES KU Career Fair 2018 will be full of opportunities to establish contacts, apply for scholarships, learn about internship opportunities, and search available jobs and much more. The chance to meet with industry representatives is of vital importance to all students.

5 Why this is a must visit event - This event welcomes all students from prep level through senior year. - Meet and talk with employers representing various organizations in the labor market. - Learn about current updates on the Emiratization initiative within the private sector (ABSHER). - Meet with organizations participating in KU Career Fair - Discover opportunities in government, semi-government and the private sector. - The event will be attended by over 40 organizations. - An ideal way to explore internship and full-time employment opportunities. - Explore the world of entrepreneurship, and possible sponsorship and trainee programs. - Build a network with employers and HR professionals.

6 CAREER FAIR Before coming to the Career Fair, it is important to do some preparation. There are nearly 40 organizations attending this exciting event. Remember, you are the student and alumni representatives for Khalifa University. Organizations attending the Career Fair will judge the University by your level of interest and attendance. Try to speak to as many organization representatives as possible, not just those related directly to your major. Most organizations have a wide range of roles. The career fair is an excellent opportunity for you to: - Understand the local labor market and its opportunities - Find out which organizations offer internships - Learn how to relate majors to industry - Know the types of skills and experience expected in fresh graduates - Find out how organizations recruit locally - Improve your business networks by talking to market professionals Some useful tips and questions to ask organizations at the career fair: Use the below questions at the Career Fair to remind you of what to ask. Take a notepad and pen with you, so you can write information down. - Do you have a graduate recruitment program and what opportunities exist within your organization for fresh graduates? - What is the application process? - What professional development opportunities exist within your organization? - Do you have any opportunities for internships within your organization? my chosen major?

7 - Are there any opportunities in your organization for temporary work during summer to gain experience? - What is the main business of your organization and the range of roles available? About to graduate? Start building your professional network: representatives about the opportunities that you are interested in, use your CV to point out relevant points of interest and how you match the role. - Ask for the organization representative s business card and follow up with an after the event to thank the representative for talking to you and forward a soft copy of your CV. - Ask about any opportunities to talk to someone from within their about the job role and organization.
