DELMIA Apriso for A&D DELMIA Apriso 2017 Conceptual Design 7 2 Project Description 2.1 Project Goal The main goal of this implementation of DELMIA Apriso for A&D is to provide one standardized MOM system that will allow for production execution management. This system will include Production Order (assembly) creation and the dispatching of Resources (Work Centers, Employees, Tools) to accepted orders. It will also include capturing production execution data with special concern to: genealogy (Components), Tool tracking, collecting quality test results, non-conformance tracking. The information is to be built in one unified database. This project has been initiated to implement a single system that will be used by all operation users in areas defined in the project scope. The information which is currently maintained in multiple places will be consolidated in one core system, thus avoiding unnecessary interfaces, reducing complexity, and increasing the reliability of the whole IT infrastructure. This should facilitate root cause analysis to support the execution s continuous improvement. In practical terms, this means: Accessing real global manufacturing data analysis and providing better feedback to the shop floor Gaining knowledge of where and how to improve manufacturing Processes Increasing the manufacturing product quality level at the right cost Minimizing the manufacturing of bad parts Contributing to global traceability for all produced parts 2.2 Business Objectives Increase visibility, control, and transparency Increase efficiency in MOM Improve traceability over executed orders, produced goods, used Components etc. Reduce system downtime by keeping the DELMIA Apriso MOM system running regardless of the SAP connection status (until new production orders are ready to be imported from SAP) Enable lean activities by providing real-time information and additional data for the avoidance and solution of problems Implement a single data model across all Facilities as a global, standard, and scalable solution Interface with third-party legacy systems (ERP)

DELMIA Apriso for A&D DELMIA Apriso 2017 Conceptual Design 8 3 How to Use this Conceptual Design 3.1 Glossary The section contains a glossary of terms used in the conceptual design and in other design documents created for this project. DELMIA Apriso Term Company Department Division Facility Group Production Line Work Center Description A Company is the highest level in the organization structure hierarchy. A Company is a corporation (or less commonly, an association, partnership, or union) that carries on an industrial enterprise. A Department is a specialized functional area within an organization or a Division, such as accounting, marketing, or planning. A Department groups Work Centers together for defect reporting and other costing purposes. A Division is a major autonomous or semi-independent (but still subordinate) administrative unit of an industrial enterprise. A Facility is the location where finished goods and semi- finished goods are produced and stocked. Raw materials and purchased parts are also received and stocked at the Facility. The Facility is also the location where goods are valuated and where inventory is held. Different organization entities (such as Work Centers, Warehouses, etc.) can be grouped together in a Group. Groups reflect business, organization, or functionality requirements. A Production Line is a set of sequential operations established in a factory. In these operations, materials are put through a refining Process to produce an endproduct that is suitable for onward consumption or Components that are assembled to make a finished article. A Production Line can group together Work Centers or individual Tools. A Work Center is a location where manufacturing activities are performed. Typically, a manufacturing operation is linked to a Work Center. Work Centers are configured in the Work Centers M&M screen. Customer Term Customer Example

DELMIA Apriso for A&D DELMIA Apriso 2017 Conceptual Design 9 Production Routing Definition Resource Tool (Equipment) Process Builder A Production Routing Definition describes how a particular product is produced. It may include the following data: A set of production Operations and production Operation Steps A production Operation and production Operation Step Sequence (routing) Resources necessary to execute every Operation Components (with optional Components and substitutes) Tools and/or Tool classes Preassigned Work Centers and/or Production Lines Preassigned Employees and/or Employee classes Required Skills and Roles Work Instructions (in the form of a file or link) Attached documents (in the form of a file or link) The Production Routing Definition is used to generate all the data necessary to execute the existing Production Order. A Resource is a source or supply from which a benefit is produced. It can represent an asset (human, machine, or Tool) used to produce goods. There three kinds of Resources in DELMIA Apriso: Users Tools Generic Resources A Tool is a Resource that represents a machine, device, or Tool used on a shop floor or in a laboratory. Process Builder is a graphical environment for creating Production Routing Definitions.

DELMIA Apriso for A&D DELMIA Apriso 2017 Conceptual Design 10 Production Order, Assembly Order A Production (Assembly) Order is a disposition to produce (assemble) a certain quantity of a particular product. A Production (Assembly) Order consists of an order header and order detailed data. The order header can have the following attributes: Material Serial Quantity to be produced Start date, end date, and due date Order detailed data can consist of the following information: Production Order Operations Production Order Operations Steps Production Order Operation Sequences Production Order Operation Step Sequences (routings) These are the Resources necessary to execute each Operation: Components (with optional Components and substitutes) Tools and/or Tool classes Preassigned Work Centers and/or Production Lines Preassigned Employees and/or Employee classes Required Skills and Roles Work Instructions (in the form of a file or link) Production may be generated on the basis of an existing Production Routing Definition.

DELMIA Apriso for A&D DELMIA Apriso 2017 Conceptual Design 11 Production Order Explosion Production Order Routing Production Order Operation Production Order Operation Step A Production Order Explosion is a procedure for populating Production Order-detailed data on the basis of an existing Production Routing Definition. This data can include: Production Order Operations and Production Order Operation Steps Production Order Operation Sequences and/or Production Order Operation Step Sequences (routings) Resources necessary to execute every Operation Components (with optional Components and substitutes) Tools Work Centers Employees and/or Employee classes Required Skills and Roles Work Instructions (in the form of a file or link) A Production Order routing (or just routing) is a Sequence of Operations (stations) required for a manufacturing Process that is used for making a product. A Production Order Operation is a disposition to perform a particular activity (which may be complex) in the course of Production Order execution. The Production Order Operations of a particular Production Order can be routed, which means that they have to be performed in a particular Sequence. Other specific properties of Production Order Operations are: Station of execution (location, Work Center) Appropriate Employees Required Resources (Tools) Required Components Typically, Production Order Operations deliver finished goods (or semi-finished goods). A Production Order Operation Step is a single action or set of actions performed in course of Production Order Operation execution. The Production Order Operation Steps of a particular Production Order Operation can be routed, which means that they have to be performed in a particular Sequence. Typically, Production Order Operation Steps are used to properly structure and Sequence complex Production Order Operations.

DELMIA Apriso for A&D DELMIA Apriso 2017 Conceptual Design 12 BOM Manufacturing BOM, MBOM Engineering BOM, EBOM Reason code Extension point A bill of materials (BOM) for an order, Operation, and/or product is a list of materials that are required to perform a particular Production Order or Production Order Operation or to manufacture particular product. The manufacturing bill of materials (or manufacturing BOM or MBOM) contains all the parts and assemblies required to build a complete and shippable product. This may include packaging materials, items that are used in the assembly Process. Off-the-shelf (OTS) Components; custom, made-to-specification (MTS) parts; and non-tangible items like firmware belong on an MBOM. Any item that can be found in the final boxed product needs to be included at some level of the MBOM. Some parts require processing before they are ready to be assembled into a final product. While only the altered part is assembled into the final product, both the pre-processed base part and the finished part are represented on the MBOM. The manufacturing team needs to know about all the processing steps in order to make critical decisions about which steps will be performed in-house and which will get outsourced to a separate vendor. The location of the processing may be changed during the life of the product to reduce costs, improve quality, or increase flexibility The engineering bill of materials (or engineering BOM or EBOM) defines the product as designed. It is the list of items, parts, Components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies in the product designed by engineering. The EBOM is often organized by engineers based on computer-aided design (CAD) or electronic design automation (EDA) Tools used. For any given product, the design of more than one EBOM may be created. A Reason Code is assigned to classify a particular object (good, Component), event, decision, problem, quality defect or property according to hierarchical structure of reasons. This standard code gathers information in a standard format that is easier to analyze than a free-form comment. The ability to create customer-specific Reason Codes for a category supports flexibility without the need for an application extension. The categories allow Reason Codes to be defined and then collected to assist in data analysis during continuous improvement in manufacturing. An extension point in the DELMIA Apriso for A&D standard system flow is a point where an additional, customized validation or business logic operation can be plugged in according to customer needs.

DELMIA Apriso for A&D DELMIA Apriso 2017 Conceptual Design 14 4 Organization Structure DELMIA Apriso enables defining a structure that provides organizational context for the execution of every Production Order. The hierarchical structure allows for defining the following levels of an organization: Company Division Facility Department Production Line Work Center Employee DELMIA Apriso MOM Organizational structure Company Division Division Facility Facility Department Department Production line Production line Work center Work center Work center Work center Work center Figure 2 DELMIA Apriso organizational structure schema Customer Organization Unit DELMIA Apriso Entity Description Company Division

DELMIA Apriso for A&D DELMIA Apriso 2017 Conceptual Design 15 Facility Department Work Center 4.1 Organization Structure Definition Rules Organizational structure definitions have to be aligned with the following rules: The Company is the highest level of the hierarchy (but it can own multiple Divisions) Each Division must be assigned to a unique Company Each Division can have multiple Facilities, each of which must be assigned to a unique Facility Each Facility can have multiple Departments and multiple Production Lines assigned Each Department and each Production Line is assigned to a unique Facility Each Work Center is assigned to a unique Department and one or more Production Lines (within one Facility) The Department and Production Line(s) to which the Work Center is assigned must be in the same Facility Each Employee can be assigned to one or more Work Centers (all within one Facility) Through the assignment to Work Centers, each Employee can be assigned to one or more Departments (all within one Facility)

DELMIA Apriso for A&D DELMIA Apriso 2017 Conceptual Design 16 5 Functional Overview DELMIA Apriso for A&D is dedicated to MOM that is optimized according to the requirements that occur most frequently in the industry. In this chapter, a functional overview is provided: 5.1 Process Description this section contains a description of the Processes that can be handled with the help of DELMIA Apriso for A&D 5.2 Roles and Applications this section describes the following: Roles and their main functional needs The applications participating in the Process of handling Production Orders and their functional features 5.3 General Business Processes this section contains a high-level Process diagram in which all the main phases of Production Order handling are presented 5.4 Overview of Features this section lists all the DELMIA Apriso for A&D features 5.5 Global this section presents important assumptions that affect DELMIA Apriso for A&D 5.1 Process Description Usually the Process begins when new Production Orders are acquired from SAP (the relevant material master data must be acquired from SAP or exist in DELMIA Apriso; for more information regarding SAP-related assumptions, see 5.5 Global Assumptions). The imported orders are reviewed by a Production Supervisor, who is responsible for completing all the data that is required to successfully execute the received Production Order. In the first step, the Production Supervisor assigns to each Production Order the appropriate Production Routing Definition. After this production Process assignment, each order header is exploded against the assigned Production Routing Definition. As a result, the information required for the order execution is provided (e.g., the set of Production Order Operations and the routing between them). The definition of each Production Order Operation generated from a Production Routing Definition can include: The lists of Components and Tools to be used The quality characteristics to be captured The Work Instructions to be read Employee classes Roles and Skills required for the Operation This step is omitted if the received order already contains full routing information. Next, the Production Supervisor confirms the order dates (start and end). The next step of the Production Order Handling Process is dispatching the required Resources (the appropriate Employees, Tools, and Work Centers) to the Production Order Operations. When all of these assignments are ready, the Complex Assembly Production Operators working on the shop floor may start executing the Production Order Operations.

DELMIA Apriso for A&D DELMIA Apriso 2017 Conceptual Design 17 Complex Assembly Production Operators execute the Production Order Operations assigned to them or to the Work Centers in which they are working. The Complex Assembly Production Operator provides data on the used Components and Tools, measured quality characteristics, identified non-conformances, and produced final or semi-final goods. Appropriate time stamps are captured as well (start, end, and hold time as well as dates for the Operation and Operation Steps). DELMIA Apriso for A&D is prepared for the assembly of single serialized parts (a Production Order is issued for a single serialized part). As stated above, two different types of users (Production Supervisor and Complex Assembly Production Operator) are involved in the Process. The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing the orders received from SAP. The Complex Assembly Production Operator is responsible for executing the assigned Production Order Operations and capturing all the important execution details. 5.2 Roles and Applications This section contains the description of the relevant Roles and applications that help to implement the Production Order Process. Each Role corresponds to a particular user that fulfills that appropriate role in the real Process of the Production Order. Each Role has specific needs and requires certain applications to accomplish assigned tasks Role Production Supervisor Production Supervisor is a DELMIA Apriso Role describing the experience of the production Employee responsible for monitoring and managing production orders as well as production order operations executed on the shop floor with the help of available Resources (Employees, Tools, Components, etc.). The Production Supervisor executes these duties through the use of two applications: Order Cockpit and Dispatching Board. Application Order Cockpit The Order Cockpit application is designed for Production Supervisor to acquire, manage, and prepare Production Orders for execution. The application has functions for importing master data (the products) and order headers. The Production Supervisor is able to review a list of orders and, for each of them, confirm the dates and quantities. It is also possible to launch an Explosion procedure that completes all the data required for the execution (on the basis of external data or a Production Routing Definition). The effect of the application work is a Production Order (with its Operations and assigned entities) that can be submitted to the assignment of required Resources (Work Centers, Employees, and Tools). The application provides the appropriate user interface for viewing order and order operation data as well as performing the actions mentioned above. Application Dispatching Board The Dispatching Board application is designed to enable the Production Supervisor to do the following things: Dispatch required Resources (Work Centers, Employees, and Tools) to each Production Order Operations

DELMIA Apriso for A&D DELMIA Apriso 2017 Conceptual Design 18 The Dispatching Process is manual, and the system is able to perform pre-assignment validations for each of the Resources being assigned Monitor Production Operation execution progress and Resource load Make decisions according to the current shop floor work status and adjust the detailed production schedule accordingly The effects of this application's work are the following: A dispatched order means that all of its Operations have the appropriate Resources (Work Centers, Employees, and Tools) assigned Actual up-to-date information on shop-floor work status and progress Role Complex Assembly Production Operator This DELMIA Apriso Role describes the experience of the shop-floor worker responsible for executing the assigned Operations with the help of the assigned Resources as well as capturing information concerning the Operation execution. Application Execution Cockpit The Execution Cockpit application is designed to manage the work of the Shop Floor Operator. The application provides him or her with a list of appropriate work tasks and enables capturing all the relevant data of the Production Order operation execution (as in, products, genealogy, Tools, non-conformances, and quality characteristics). The application input is a dispatched (meaning, assigned to the appropriate Work Center and/or Employee) order Operation. The effect of this application's work is a completed Production Order Operation with the following attributes: Status Progress updated All the execution details Captured time stamps for the delivered products, consumed parts, genealogy, used Tools, identified conformances, measured quality Characteristics, and added attachments) The application provides the appropriate user interface to capture all of this data.

Import of the Production Order with routing and the dispatching and releasing of its Operations and its execution (through the execution of its Operations in a defined Sequence). 2 One Production Order can be a disposition to produce one piece of a serialized product. If there is an order to produce a higher quantity of products, it has to be divided into the appropriate quantity of child orders, each of which is issued for one piece (with a quantity of one). The manufactured Product must be serial-tracked. 3 One Production Order Operation can be a disposition to produce one serialized product. If there is an Operation to produce a higher quantity of products, it has to be divided into the appropriate quantity of child Operations, each of which is issued for one piece (with a quantity of one). 4 The available interfaces are implemented to communicate with SAP. The mappings that allow for properly directing incoming and outgoing information are also part of DELMIA Apriso for A&D. 5 The expected data volume sections in the descriptions in 6 Business Processes should encourage consideration of important data volume issues and requirements.

Multiple scenarios according to the scope of data received from ERP are possible. DELMIA Apriso for A&D is designed to import Production Orders from SAP in two ways. By importing production order headers from SAP and by importing Production orders with full routing and information about required resources. After the import of a production header, it has to be completed with the information required for proper and successful execution (e.g., Production Order Operations, Work Instructions, Component and tooling specifications, quality instructions and tests, Employees and their skills). All of this data is generated from the Production Routing Definition that exists in DELMIA Apriso MOM and created with use of the procedure named Explosion. Before the Production Order is exploded, the Production Supervisor reviews it, verifies the dates, and provides comments that may be important in the execution Business Value Provide the created Production Order together with all the details necessary for its execution (that is, all the Operations and routings as well as the Resources necessary to execute them [Components, Work Centers, Production Lines, machines, Tools, Equipment, Employees, skills, and quality characteristics]). All the orders and Operations define the activities that have to be executed on the shop floor and enable organizing and managing their execution. The set of orders planned for a period of time is submitted to detailed scheduling and then to further execution.

DELMIA Apriso for A&D DELMIA Apriso 2017 Conceptual Design Requirements These are the most important functional requirements: Req ID Title Description Priority RQ.OC.01 RQ.OC.02 RQ.OC.03 RQ.OC.04 RQ.OC Diagram Create Production Routing Definition Order and Operation data view Create or update order and Operation data Order header import Order and operation lead time analysis The system should allow for the creation of a Production Routing Definition (in Process Builder) to be able to design how Production Orders should executed. The system should allow for the viewing of Production Order data in order to be able to assess the amount of work planned for the day and the progress of orders and Operations that are executed. The system should allow for updating the selected data of the order and Operation in order to assure that the data in the system is accurate and up-to-date. The system should allow for importing Production Order header data from SAP. The system should allow for analyzing the lead times of orders and Operations for a given product over time (analysis of order and Operations for a selected time frame). This diagram illustrates the Production Order Create Process: SAP ERP Order management/ Production Planner Order create/ Production Supervisor DELMIA Apriso MOM Order dispatching/ Production Supervisor No M.SAP.02 Production order ST.OC.01 Production order import D.OC.01 Order contains routing? ST.OC.02 Production order header view and update data Yes ST.OC.03 Production order header explosion (against production process definition) ST.OC.04 Submiting order to dispatching Dispatching resources to production order operations

DELMIA Apriso for A&D DELMIA Apriso 2017 Conceptual Design Prerequisites Figure 7 Production Order Create Process To execute Production Order Create Process, the following data must be prepared in DELMIA Apriso MOM: Material data (for Components, semi-products, products, and assigned units of measure) Tool data Quality characteristic data Organizational context description (Facility, Department, and Work Centers) Employee data (Employee, Employee classes, Employee Roles and Skills) External interface prepared and configured Production Routing Definition Process Steps 1 M.SAP.02 The message containing the Production Order header is generated in the SAP system and is transferred to DELMIA Apriso. 2 ST.OC.01 The transferred message is imported into DELMIA Apriso. 3 D.OC.01 If the order contains routing step ST.OC.04 is executed 4 ST.OC.02 The Production Supervisor views the detailed data of the received orders and may update its data (scheduled start and end dates, comments). 5 ST.OC.03 The Production Supervisor completes the missing data required for Production Order execution. It is done on the basis of the Production Routing Definition that exists in DELMIA Apriso. The following data types may be completed (when missing) at this stage: Production Order Operations Production Order Operation Steps and routing The necessary components The required employee s Skills and Roles The required tool classes The appropriate quality characteristics and Work Instructions 6 ST.OC.04 After all the data required for the Production Order execution is provided, the particular order can be submitted to the Resource Dispatching Process Process Result When the Process is successfully completed, the Production Order is ready for the Dispatching Process and contains all the data required for its execution: Due dates and product quantities Operations, their routing, and their steps Components Employee Skills and Roles Tool classes Quality characteristics Work Instructions

DELMIA Apriso for A&D DELMIA Apriso 2017 Conceptual Design Process Rules and Process Assumptions The following information is editable for orders in the New status: External order number Process and Process revision Product and product revision Description Scheduled date/time start and end The following information is editable for orders in the Released and Started status: External order number Description Scheduled date/time start and end When the order is in the Hold status, the editable fields are consistent with the status from which the order transitioned No fields are editable when the order is in the Cancelled or Completed status Functions These are the business logic functions used in this Process: Function ID Title Description UC.OM.OC.01 Create a new revision of the Production Routing Definition UC.OM.OC.02 Import the order header UC.OM.OC.03 View order data UC.OM.OC.04 View order Operation data The user opens Process Builder and defines the Process by defining the subsequent Process Operation and the routing between them. The user (external system) places the file containing the order header data in a particular location. DELMIA Apriso MOM Business Integrator reads the file, parses it, and if the schema validation is successful, inserts the order header data into the database. The user opens the Order Cockpit and searches for the appropriate order in the order list. The user then opens the order detail screens and chooses the level of order in the order structure tree. The order-detailed data is displayed in the main section of Order Cockpit. The user opens the Order Cockpit and searches for the appropriate order in the order list. The user then opens the order detail screens and chooses the level of the appropriate Operation in the order structure tree. The Operation-detailed data is displayed in the main section of Order Cockpit.

If the order has not been exploded yet, the user clicks the Explode button and the order is exploded (for details, see 3.1 Glossary). In effect, the order receives all the important structure data (order Operations, routings, Components, Tools, Characteristics, Roles, and Skills). The user opens the Order Cockpit and searches for the appropriate order in the order list. The user then opens the order detail screens and chooses the level of the appropriate order in the order structure tree. The Operation-detailed data is displayed in the main section of the Order Cockpit. The user changes the due and start dates. The user saves data. The user opens the Order Cockpit and searches for the appropriate order in the order list. The user then opens the order detail screens and chooses the level of the appropriate Operation in the order structure tree. The Operation-detailed data are displayed in the main section of the Order Cockpit. If the Operation has not been released yet, the user clicks the Release button and releases the Operation. The Operation appears on the Task Lists of the relevant Employees. The user (external system) places the file containing the order and routing data in a particular location. DELMIA Apriso MOM Business Integrator reads the file, parses it, and if the schema validation is successful, inserts the order and order routing data into the database Parameterization The technical details of the data exchange on the side of DELMIA Apriso MOM (e.g., network addresses, paths, intervals) can be configured in the DELMIA Apriso MOM Configuration Manager Expected Data Volumes In this section, the main data volumes for the main objects should be estimated in general or as visible in particular screens.
