14 737 Autopilot Changes Loss of Control Mitigation Autopilot formerly reverted to Control Wheel Steering (CWS) mode when: Pilot would override the autopilot using column or wheel Pilot would engage the autopilot while banking Several instances where the CWS mode was misunderstood In these situations the autopilot will now disengage and provide a warning SAAFER 14
15 Roll Command Alerting System For 737 Initially Helps pilots recover from high bank angle events Highlights asymmetry issues that cause yaw-induced roll Alerts pilots when autopilot saturation occurs Provides directional guidance when excessive bank angles are reached Functions identically in all flight control modes SAAFER 15
