1. OVERVIEW estelbarcodes is an optional product that is fully integrated with. It is designed to create and generate computer printed barcoded tags that can subsequently be scanned into a number of applications. The types of tags that can be produced through estelbarcodes include receiving, finished goods, and return-to-stock tags. In addition to the tags, labels can also be produced. Some of the major features of the estelbarcodes product include: Printing of barcoded tags Multiple shipping tag formats Generic tag characteristics Mult labels printing Flexible printing technology Radio Frequency interface Wedge scanning interface AIAG Tag Export Function Printing Barcoded tags estelbarcodes is used to generate two types of barcoded tags as well as mult and product labels. The following tag types can be generated: Receiving Shipping and Return-to-Stock Barcoded Receiving Tags estelbarcodes enables you to print barcoded tags at the time of receiving material providing immediate availability of material. The barcoded tag includes the tag number, product description, and all of the relevant receiving information including the supplier and purchase order number. Creating Shipping and Return-to-Stock Tags You can create Shipping and Return-to-Stock tags through the stand-alone estelbarcodes program or the process can be integrated with estelpro and estelman. estelbarcodes is designed to enable the recording of shipping and return-to-stock material by operations staff on the shop floor.

1. Overview Page 2 Shipping Tag Formats Three different tag formats are available for shipping tags. For each customer and ship-to location, the preferred shipping tag format is stored. The shipping tag formats are: AIAG Shipping Tag format Build-Up Tag format Refer to the Tag Printing Formats section for details. Generic Tag Characteristics All of the computer printed barcoded tags (AIAG, shipping, receiving, and return-to-stock) use the same generic tag format. The tag is formatted into three sections. The first section is the largest section of the tag. It remains on the material. The other two portions are tear-off strips containing fundamental tag information. Each of the three sections is barcoded. The tear-off sections are intended to be removed and attached to any relevant paperwork. Mult Tag Printing Mult Tags are small adhesive labels containing pertinent tag information. Typically, they are attached to the material itself or to part of the packaging. These labels are printed at the same time as the tags and one or multiple copies can be printed. Mult Tags provide identification of the material should the tag be lost or torn off. Product Label Printing This label is intended to be attached to bundles of material for product identification. Product labels must be printed on a ZEBRA Stripe printer having a printer type of ZEBMULT. The label measures 3 ½ W x 1 H. Printing Technology Tags are designed to print on Zebra printers using Zebra Printer Control language (PCL). Invera also provides limited support for a variety of certified legacy printers. However, older printers may not support the latest features and functions. Product Installation Option, DNP=X, controls the creation of spool files when tags are printed (refer to Product Installation Guide for details). Wedge Scanning Interface Wedge scanners can be adapted to any screen and keyboard device. They are used to scan the barcoded

1. Overview Page 3 tags. Wedge scanners are integrated into the system by attaching the scanner between the keyboard and the screen. You can use the scanner to scan information into programs. The use of this technology can be applied in different applications including: estelpro production recording Build-Up tag generation Shipping AIAG Tag Export Function The AIAG tag export function allows end users to integrate the printing of customized shipping labels within their normal tag printing operations based on settings in the Customer Tag Information record. When enabled, printing an AIAG Tag in populates an export table and a database trigger is enabled that allows the initiation of your own tag printing function. estelbarcodes Restriction The stand-alone estelbarcodes program can only be used for Tag Master Required products. estelbarcodes Prerequisites System Installation Option estelbarcodes requires a specific System Installation Option. Barcoded Forms Barcoded forms must be printed on either a Fujitsu (type FUJ) or Okidata (type ML395) dot matrix printer that is capable of printing barcodes, or a PostScript-enabled laser printer. For details on the contents of the forms and barcode options refer to the Product Installation Options Guide and the following manuals: estelpro (estelpro required) estelman (estelman required) Sales Orders (estelbarcodes required)

1. Overview Page 5 TAG PRINTING FORMATS There are three types of tags supported: AIAG Shipping Tag Shipping Tag Receiving Tags ( Inventory Tag for Returns-to-Stock or Rejects) Options are provided to print or suppress barcoding depending on your site requirements. AIAG Shipping Tag The Automotive Industry Action Group B-5 standard tag format can be generated for those customers requiring it. It is a barcoded tag format with rigid specifications for the information content, size of characters and print location. Shipping Tag This is a generic formatted tag that can be used for any company requiring a shipping tag to be printed for delivery with the material, but who does not need the rigid specifications or complete barcoded format of the AIAG tag. Only the Tag field is barcoded. Receiving Tag The Inventory tag format is used in Receiving functions to print warehouse tags for new material. This format is also used to print tags for return-to-stock material produced through processing applications. Only the Tag field is barcoded.

2. Tag Generation Entry Options Page 15 Shipping Tag Prefix Shipping Tag Format Number of Copies Mult Tag Required and the number of copies Allocating the Consumption Tag The estelbarcodes Tag Printing program can create an Inventory Reservation record for the Consumption Tag. This allows you to reserve the Consumption Tags prior to creating the Inventory Processing job. The creation of the Inventory Reservation record is based on the Pieces and Quantity entered in the estelbarcodes transaction. The Pieces and Quantity can be left as 0 if no Reservation record is required. Entering the Pieces and Quantity to be Allocated Once you enter the Produced Pieces and Quantity, a pop-up window is displayed containing the Available and Allocated Pieces/Quantity and the cursor is positioned in the Pcs field of the Allocation line. Refer to the Product Installation Options Guide for details.

2. Tag Generation Entry Options Page 16 Restriction You cannot allocate more Pieces and/or Quantity than is available for the Consumption Tag. Warning If the Product Installation Option is set to default the Allocated Pcs and Qty from the Produced Product Item, then you must ensure that the defaulted Pieces and Quantity represent the actual Pieces and Quantity used to produce the estelbarcodes Tag. Refer to the Product Installation Options Guide for details. Creating the Consumption Tag Reservation A Reservation record with a prefix of ST is created for the Allocated Quantity once the estelbarcodes transaction is updated. The following conditions apply to the creation of the Reservation record: If the Consumption Tag is NOT allocated to the Sales Order being shipped, a Reservation record is created for the Consumption Tag with a Reference prefix of ST using the Allocated Pieces and Quantity. If the Consumption Tag IS allocated to the Sales Order being shipped then: o The Allocated Pieces and Quantity are defaulted based on the Product Installation Option. The Order allocation is then updated as follows: It is reduced by the ST allocation if the ST allocation is less than the Order allocation. It is deleted if the ST allocation is greater than or equal to the Order allocation. Example: Order Balance = 1000 LBS Non-Specific Allocation defaults to 1000 LBS Add a Specific Allocation - Tag A = 700 LBS Non-Specific Allocation is reduced to 300 LBS In estelbarcodes, Tag A is consumed to produce Tag A1 Tag A1 = 500 LBS The Sales Order Allocation is updated as follows: Non-Specific Allocation = 300 LBS Tag A = 200 LBS Tag A1 = 500 LBS An ST reservation is also created for Tag A = 500 LBS o If the Sales Order being shipped is a R-Release Type Sales Order, the source Consumption Tag is checked to determine if it is allocated to the corresponding Blanket. If it is allocated to the corresponding Blanket Order, then the Blanket Allocation is updated in the same way as above.

2. Tag Generation Entry Options Page 17 Automatic Job Number Assignment The Job number ties the Produced Tag to the Inventory Reservation record for the Consumed Tag. If the Allocate Option is set to Y-Yes in the User Defaults window, a controlled Sequence number is automatically assigned to the estelbarcodes transaction once you exit the Allocation window and this number cannot be changed. If the Allocate Option is set to N-No in the User Defaults window, you can manually enter a Job number. The Job number is displayed on screen in the Job Number field. It is also printed in the Job number field of the printed tags and stubs. Once the estelbarcodes transaction is updated, the Job number is displayed in the Trans field of the estelview Tag Inquiry for the Produced Tag. This number provides important reference information for the finalizing of the Transient estelbarcodes Tag in the Inventory Processing function. Refer to the Inventory Processing chapter of the Inventory Control manual for details. Skid Information The Skid Type defaults from the Sales Order Item Specification or the SKD Product Installation Option. If there is no default Skid Type you cannot access the Skid, Tare and Gross Weight fields. If there is a default Skid Type, then you have access to the fields and the Skid Type can be overridden as required. The Tare Weight defaults automatically from the Skid reference file according to the selected Skid Type. You can override the Tare Weight as required. The Gross Weight equals the Shipped Weight + the Tare Weight. If you override the Gross Weight, the Net Weight is recomputed. Packaging Code The Packaging code is a required field and cannot be left blank. The Packaging code is defaulted from the Sales Order Item Specification or the PKG Product Installation Option, but can be changed as required. PHYSICAL SPECS Print Title... Y - optional Override Title... Y - optional Print Data ID... N MUST be set to N-No. Override Data ID... N MUST be set to N-No. Print Bar Code... N MUST be set to N-No. Print ID Code in BC.. N MUST be set to N-No. Print Human Readable. Y MUST be set to Y-Yes. Allows up to 19 barcoded characters (data plus product identifier not to exceed 19 characters) for the Customer Part Specification. When this element is selected, the type size of the Human Readable text is reduced so that it can be printed in the Data Block. This is a non-standard implementation for the AIAG Tag and should not be used without first verifying that your customer is able to scan and process the field when it contains more than the 15 Data Characters as specified by the AIAG B-5 Standard. CUSTOMER PART SPEC X(30) Allows up to 31 barcoded characters (data plus product identifier not to exceed 31 characters) for the Customer Part Specifications. NOTE: A 30 Character barcode exceeds the maximum number of characters (18) specified by the AIAG Tag Standards committee and may not be suitable for all customers/vendors. (2Q) (4Q)

4. Customized AIAG Tag Function Page 54 Field Name Default/Block Size Description Default Data Identifier SIZE Prints the Sales Order Product Description (2 lines of 45 characters). The element is formatted to print as text within any of the large customizable data blocks. The font is as large as is possible to print approximately 40 characters within the available space of a large data block. Using the element in a smaller data block could result in either loss of text or text extending beyond the borders. NOTE: The actual number of characters that can be printed is variable, based upon the actual text, e.g., a capitol I takes less space than a capitol M. Set Up Requirements to use the element, you must set the configuration options as follows: Element Name... PHYSICAL SPECS Print Title... Y optional Override Title...
