3 This manual is likely to change the content for the improvement. 1.Safety Precaution Please read this manual before starting Xrd-384 Attention on Safety Warning :If ignored, a fatal accident might happen by which a person could be injured seriously or dead. Caution :If ignored, an accident might happen by which a person could be injured or an instrument might be physically damaged 2.To use instrument safety Please regularly maintain, and check. In that case, please note it enough. Warning This device is "Stacker device with Xrd-384 Auto Dropper" to use in laboratory. When you operate excluding the use written in this book, the safety of device might become impaired There are motors in this device. In result of deterioration and the breakdown, it might cause the injury or become origin of the fire. Please ask inspection to serviceman at less once a year. If any abnormality, please exchange the parts. Do not touch the plug with wet hand. The electric shock might be caused. Don t put your hands or any part of body into the range of movement while the instrument is operating. Serious injury could result. If it is necessary to enter the area, stop the operation first, and be careful when restarting. Please do not bring the identification card strap etc. close to the rotation body. It cause serious result. Don t attempt any alterations and disassembly, it causes the breakdown, a fire, and the malfunction. Please turn off switch when setting or maintenance. it might cause serious injury. In addition, the cover of device should not be needed to open when normal maintenance. Caution Please operate it with the hand or the special touch pen on the touch panel side. Please do not operate it by the hard one and pointed thing. 3

4 It might cause the breakdown. Please avoid to be subjected to direct sunlight. It cause the mis-operation and break down. 3.Instruction for use A. Attention for installation Use the power cable which each country approve. Install clean indoor with little dust. Set it up on the desk which is horizontal and steady. Do not give a strong vibration. Avoid the direct sunshine. B. Use environment Use indoor s place. The place to use should be lower than 2000m altitude. Should be used under 5 to 40 degree centigrade and lower than 80% humidity. Mains supply voltage fluctuations up to +/-10% of the normal voltage. Pollution range should not be faced the danger to people normally. C. Attention for the operation Do not touch drive part during the operation. D. Others If the liquid is spilled out on the stage, please wipe it quickly. When it happened in operation, please turn off switch first. When blowout of a fuse happens frequently, it is thought abnormality of the electrical system. Please undergo an inspection by serviceman. The fuse can be extracted if a flat-blade screw driver rotates the fuse cap left. After exchanging a fuse, please burst in and rotate right the fuse cap until locking. Replacement fuse: Type:T,250V.3.15A 4

7 5-3. Stacker Chimney(Optional) Stacker Chimneys are sold separately. Micro Shot 705 should be needed two stacker chimneys. Stacker Chimney has double doors. Please pull up the door and open it when you put microplates. Allows to carry the stacker chimney with microplates by using carrier handle. 7

8 6.Setup Procedure 1 Open the stacker base from a package. 2 Confirm the contents Appended goods:power cable RS232C cable Waste-Fluid vessel Waste tubing Stacker Chimney Support Brackets(2) 3 Install Xrd-384 to the stacker base. Remove the parts of Xrd-384 Remove the stage part and waste-fluid vessel from Xrd-384 Remove 4 cross slot screws under the stage by using a long Phillips driver. Remove 2 hexagon head screws on waste-fluid vessel by using a hex wrench. 8

9 Remove this part from under the Xrd-384 base by using a hex wrench. Set Xrd-384 on the stacker base like the mentioned above Please set Xrd-384 rubber feet into the 4 holes from back side of stacker base. 9

10 Assemble stacker chimney support brackets with 2 hexagon head screws on stacker base by using hexagon wrench. 4 Connect Power/RS232C cable Setup power cables to Xrd-384 and Stacker Base, and connect RS232C cable(cross cable) between Xrd-384 and Stacker base. Setup RS232C cable to COM2 of Xrd-384 Please setup like the above picture. 10

11 5 Setup Stacker Chimneys Fit these chimney guide fitting up the cut of stacker chimney. Fit the blade part of the chimney into the stacker chimney setting base. 6 Turn on power Turn on power both of Xrd-384 and stacker base. It is no matter even if the switch is previously turned on. 11

12 7 Setting for stacker base operation panel. POWER/READY is lighted up when the stacker base is turned on power. Operation Panel POWER/READY:Power on or off STACKER EMPTY:Lighted up when there is no microplate in the stacker chimney in execution. PLATE HEIGHT:Set the microplate height (mm)by key. RE-STACK: After the microplates were dispensed and stacked into left stacker chimney, the microplate bring back to right stacker chimney. LID:When the microplates with specified lid is used, it become effective 8 Change Xrd-384 to stacker mode Xrs-384 is turned on power, the initial screen is displayed, then press both of red parts on screen simultaneously. MAINTENANCE screen is displayed. 12

13 Press PASS WORD. Password is 705, and then press ENT Press SPECIAL FUNCTION. 13

14 Press YES of STACKER USE? on SPECIAL FUNCTION screen, and then press RETURN. 9 Initial position adjustment for microplates. Press TEACHING. Password is 705. Warning Teaching position is different in stand-alone Xrd-384 and Xrd-384 with stacker. Please do TEACHING when stacker is used. 14

15 Select the kind of microplate Initial teaching for 96wells microplate. Do teaching 1 line of 96well microplate. When is pressed, top of tubing head moves to a position near the first column. Please move tubing head while pressing following button so that the front side top come to center of 1H well for miroplate. Move stage to the left. (X axis) Move stage to the right. (X axis) Move tube head to back side (Y axis) Move tube head to front side (Y axis) Moving speed become more faster when this 15

17 Teaching 384well microplate by 8ch tubing. Please do teaching center of two point both 1column (O) and 24column(P) as same as 96wells microplate teaching way. Teaching 384well microplate by 16ch tubing. Press this button, and then following a Do teaching center of 1(P) wells as same as 96 wells micropate teaching way. 17

18 9-3. Initial teaching for 384wells microplate. Do teaching center of two point both 1 column H3 and 48culumn as same as 96 microplate teaching way. When each plate teaching is finished, please do power cycle. 18

19 9 Set tube set to Xrd (See Xrd-384 operation manual ; P.9-10) 10 Prepare for reagent bottle, and insert the tubing with weight into the bottle. 11 Turn on Power 12 Make a program to dispense(see Xrd-384 operation manual P.10~) according to operation manual of Xrd-384. All of height for program is different with stand-alone Xrd-384. Therefore, please reprogram when the stacker is used. warning When stacker is used, optional reservoir aspirate function become unusable. 13 Do the prime and fill tubing for liquid (See operation manual P.19) 14 Set microplates into right stacker chimney, and start the program. Dispensed microplates is stacker to left stacker. When RE-STACK is pressed on operation panel, the microplate bring back to right stacker chimney. 15 Open the stacker chimney double door, and get the microplates Stacker Plate Count After dispensed and restack a plate, main display shows Stacker Plate xxxx as below screen. Operator knows how many plate is dispensed. Count number is maximum 999. Before 999 displays, please push the number, and then count will be reset. 19
