CICB endorses the national certification program offered by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) and provides training to prepare candidates for CCO examinations. Just finished my classes at CICB today. I had to drive all the way to the Texas location for the lattice boom but it was well worth the time and money. My instructor was an amazing teacher, he hit every point in the exams three times and made it stick like glue. I was very nervous at times but definitely felt like CICB was on my side and trying to help me in every way possible. I would recommend this company to anyone who is seriously considering getting NCCCO certification or any training for that matter. M.S., Leesville, LA

11 Train-the-Trainer Training Programs In the case where employers desire to provide training at their facility, using their own staff, CICB s Train-the-Trainer program offers a customized solution that site trainers often need allowing them to bring new-found knowledge and CICB s proprietary materials back to train others at their workplace. Our Train-the-Trainer programs provide those non-trainers with the basic training skills to efficiently develop a training program geared toward the learning needs of their operators and inspectors. It further enables the instructor to conduct effective training using curriculums they have developed in the classroom. Through a series of key objectives and principles, we give you the tools to help create productive, interactive lesson plans for any one of our training programs. We can also provide those who are non-operators with pre-training to help them better understand the function and terminology of the equipment on which they will be training others. Train-the-Trainer programs are available for Operators, Riggers and Inspectors. Below is a brief list of our most popular Train-the- Trainer Programs: Mobile Crane Operator Overhead Crane/Hoist Operator and Rigger Basic Rigger/Signal Person Aerial Work Platform Operator Fork Lift Operator Boom Truck Operator Bucket Truck Operator Equipment Inspection/Certification Properly maintained cranes and equipment is essential for safe, economical operation. Operators and the rigging crew rely on these units to perform structurally, mechanically, and functionally. A crane or equipment that fails could result in injury or death to your employees or costly down time. CICB inspections are conducted in a professional manner and are among the most comprehensive in the lifting industry, providing the customer with an unbiased equipment evaluation. At the conclusion of the inspections, a closing conference is conducted with the client. The inspection is also followed with a Letter of Acknowledgement that details the results of the inspection and the applicable regulations and safety standards, along with a Deficiency/Recommendation Form (if applicable), for each unit inspected. Inspections are performed for the Construction, General and Maritime Industries. We provide annual inspections or quadrennial inspections which include load tests, where required. Programs are regularly scheduled in Houston, TX and Orlando, FL, along with multiple locations across the United States. Customized on-site training is available at customer s facilities. For maritime inspections, each inspector is accredited under the U.S. Department of Labor- Maritime. In attaining these accreditations, each inspector has met stringent performance requirements and has provided documented experience to the U.S. Department of Labor for their approval.
12 Special Services Management Assist Visit (Audit) CICB has recognized the material handling industry s need for a program that is designed to reduce an organization s exposure to risk, accidents, and liability. CICB offers a comprehensive and effective Management Assist Visit or Audit that identifies possible problem areas and provides a recommendation to correct them. This is achieved by a sevenpoint evaluation that examines the entire scope of an organization s material handling operation from CICB s viewpoint as an independent third party. CICB s seven point evaluation includes: An evaluation of each individual s qualifications An inspection of the mechanical condition of equipment Safety compliance of equipment An inspection of rigging practices of all personnel involved in hoisting operations A review of OSHA and ASME required record keeping and documentation An analysis of operating manuals, material handling policies and procedures A review of first-line supervision qualifications An exit interview is conducted upon completion of a Management Assist Visit or Audit by a CICB representative. A written report is then prepared for your records. Follow-up visits, if desired, may be arranged to monitor compliance with the recommendations.
13 Expert Witness Testimony CICB provides courtroom expert witness testimony for industry and government, when an independent expertise in the field of crane and material handling safety is required. CICB has worked with numerous attorneys, insurance firms, and various organizations in and out of the courtroom in assessing the apparent cause of accidents, providing reviews of work by others and offering general guidance in OSHA and ASME recommended safety practices for the craning industry. Our staff has the practical experience and a knowledge base that is deep in the lifting and material handling industry s regulations, resources, and best practices. The average experience level is 43 years. CICB is very active in many of the industry s rule-making committees and professional organizations. Members of our staff hold or have held key positions in these organizations. These qualifications plus the drive to be the best in our field make us the best candidate for your Expert Witness needs. Accident Investigation This service is available to owners, users, insurance companies, attorneys, and other organizations involved in the material handling industry. Investigations consist of accident site visits, photography, interview of the parties involved, collection of all pertinent data, and lab analysis of suspected failed components, if required. We have an organized and systematic approach to investigations that allows the true Root Cause to be determined. Depending on the type of accident that has occurred, CICB s investigators will request all documentation that will bring pertinent facts to the surface. All areas, from responsibilities, training, conduct, policies and procedures that apply to the situation, will be examined and evaluated. CICB s staff has the experience to fully understand the roles and responsibilities of all parties related to an accident, and arrive at a determination for cause. The final Accident Investigation Report will be formally written and presented in an organized and logical format that can be presented to management or a jury.
