4 Storage, Production and Loading Space for Sertec Group, Birmingham Size: 17m x 49.7m (844.9m 2 ) Use: Production, Storage and Loading Why: Increase space on site across the board Special Features: Gas heating, 6m wide speed door When Sertec Group Holdings approached Spaciotempo recently to increase space at their Tube and Pressings plant in Tyseley, Birmingham they wanted a solution which was bespoke in every way. Driven by business growth, Sertec s requirement was for a building which could link to their existing production facility, providing extra space for production, as well as storage and loading. With production personnel working in the building all the time, it was important for the building to be well insulated and heated. Our specification provided hard gables and a thermo roof as well as gas central heating. Sertec also needed to load and unload large articulated vehicles directly into the building - so we installed a six metre wide speed door as well which really helps operational efficiency. Two further buildings are currently being installed, providing additional gas heated storage, and a new loading canopy, at a fraction of the cost of a permanent build. The two new buildings will give Sertec all the flexibility and durability which a Spaciotempo solution can offer. Seven Loading Canopies for DX Group at Six Locations Nationwide Acquired by the DX Group in 2012, the DX Freight operation has seen rapid national expansion, controlled from its Hub at Willenhall in the West Midlands. But the development of DX s logistics network, and the advent of double decker lorries caused DX Freight a problem - their existing facilities just couldn t accommodate the larger lorries making loading and unloading impossible. Loading had to take place in the open air, meaning there was a risk of stock damage in bad weather. Spaciotempo s solution was to attach a loading canopy, with an increased eave and apex height, to DX s existing buildings. As a result, lorries can load and unload in all weathers and keep the stock safe and dry.
