We ve added four new branches since 2007, added the Financia Services department to provide a broad array of investment, insurance and trust services and our staffing has grown by 30% in the ast five years. This growth ed to stress on our processing systems. As a resut, the decision was made to ook at aternative systems. According to BOS President, Mick McGasson, The decision to change our processing system was easy. The chaenge was choosing the right repacement system. McGasson went on to say that the number one goa was to improve our products and service eves for our customers. A team of empoyees, ed by Bi Gaske, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, was assembed to search for the right Website Enhancements Our website at com wi get a faceift, making it ceaner and easier to navigate. Here's what's coming: Improved Eectronic Banking Services A of the eectronic banking services avaiabe to you today wi sti be avaiabe after the conversion. But, you wi see some changes. If you use onine bi payment you appreciate an improved funding mode. You wi aso see some improvements in the eectronic bi presentment and Mobie banking services. The team evauated severa systems in great detai. The system we seected wi aow us to enhance our products and improve the customer service we deiver, said Gaske. The new core system wi aso aow us to improve our processing efficiency. This wi utimatey hep us reduce the amount of time it takes us to serve our customers. We beieve our customers wi appreciate this time savings, said McGasson. The new system offers other benefits as we. We are schedued to convert to the new technoogy patform on October 17th. Soon you wi receive detais about this conversion in your mai, but here s a quick gimpse at what s coming. New Statements Many of us enjoy the convenience of combined statements. This aows us to receive one statement each month that incudes both checking and savings account information. But, today, you can ony have one checking account incuded in the combined statement. The new patform aows mutipe checking accounts on the combined statement. You aso have additiona options for how you receive statements and notices from the bank. When you receive change at the store, can you te if it is rea or counterfeit? counterfeit money There has been an increase in the number of reports where counterfeit money has been detected. Both businesses and individuas have a responsibiity to contact authorities when they suspect money to be counterfeit to ensure it wi be removed from genera circuation. Counterfeit money has many negative effects. It reduces the vaue of money, contributes to infation, and increases the price of commodities. Counterfeit money can be difficut to recognize. Compare any uncertain money with other money of the same denomination and series. The two wi have a ot of simiarities but if just one thing differs, it is counterfeit. In the case of paper money, fee and ook at the paper. It is important to notice the texture of the paper because U.S. currency is printed on a specia cotton rag that is not sod commerciay. Friday, May 13 was a recent casua day in which participating BOS empoyees contributed $700 towards Sangamon County Community Foundation. Other upcoming Casua for a Cause days are schedued for Juy and September. Bood Drive The Mississippi Vaey Regiona Bood Center conducted a bood drive Monday, June 13 at BOS Metro East branches in Shioh and Swansea. Cothing Drive BOS hed a cothing drive during May and June. A cothes received were donated to the Savation Army nearest each BOS branch. Caddyshack Open The 26th Non-Annua Caddyshack Open was hed Thursday, June 30. The 2011 recipient of the Caddyshack Open proceeds is the Community Bankers Association of Iinois (CBAI) Foundation for Community Banking Schoarship Programs.
