1 GWL SHADE WELDING GOGGLE DESCRIPTION The Protector GWL is an Australian made Shade goggle designed for welding applications. The Welding goggle has a soft face seal and a traditional lift up lens holder. The goggle is fitted with two 0mm circular filter lenses shade and two clear polycarbonate chipping and cover lenses. The filter lenses are certified to AS/ NZS :2012 and the chipping and cover lenses to (medium impact) The purpose of the chipping lens it provide clear vision and protection during non welding activities. The cover lens protects the filter lenses from pitting caused by metal sparks and hot molten metal spatter. APPLICATIONS Suitable for general industry including fabrication, engineering and maintenance operations. Suitable for Oxy gas welding operations, flame gauging, brazing and cutting. Suitable for gas welding, oxy cutting processes outlined in AS/NZS 133.

The Protector GF0: Filter Lens have been tested and certified to AS/NZS :2012.

3 MARKINGS ON FACESHIELDS Markings on eye/face protectors are a requirement for certification. It assists users in identifying their intended use. They are identified by the following: STANDARD SYMBOL EXPLANATIONS I or F For medium impact protection V For high impact protection M For molten metal resistance C For splash resistance O For outdoor tinted LENS MARKINGS Markings on eye protectors are a requirement for certification. They are identified by the following: STANDARD LENS MARKING EXPLANATIONS I = Medium O = Outdoor/Indoor (untinted or amber) OUTDOOR UNTINTED (FOR INDOOR AND OUTDOOR USE) These protectors are intended for indoor and outdoor use where no optical radiation hazards exist other than solar radiation. I = Medium (outdoor tinted, smoke, brown or photo chromatic) OUTDOOR TINTED These protectors are intended for outdoor use where no optical radiation hazards exist other than solar radiation. They are intended to provide adequate protection against sun glare and ultraviolet radiation from the sun. Selecting the wrong type of PPE can have serious consequences. It is important to consider the velocity, size and the nature of the hazard when evaluating eye/face protection.

The filter lens shade number selected depends on the type of work and somewhat on the preference of the user. Chipping lens, cover lens and filter lens should be checked prior to use for cracks, distortion or sever scratching and should be replaced if damaged. Helmets with cracks, dents or excessive scratching should be discarded immediately. For best cleaning results, use soap and warm water and wipe/pat dry. The use of solvents, harsh detergents or abrasives is not recommented. Avoid exposure to Solvents, Sulphuric Acid, Methylene Chloride, Toluene, Paint Thinner and Acetone. DISPOSAL As the goggles and its components are subject to dirt, dusts and liquids, etc, they cannot be recycled. If the product is to be disposed of, it should be disassembled and disposed of as solid waste. Please see local authority regulations for disposal advice and locations.
