1 SUREŠA - Duo Movement Powder Mixer Product Overview The SUREŠA Duo Movement Powder Mixer is a Very Unique Mixer / Blender and as such its advanced technology By incorporating two separate movement systems, this new equipment mixes materials by means of convection using a barrel roll mechanism and, at the same time, it blends powder materials by means of spinning blades installed inside the barrel. The base principle of this combination of mechanisms is to make the barrel revolve independently of the internal full scale spinning blades or shovels. The barrel and blades each revolve at different speeds and move in different directions. Production Introduction The SUREŠA Duo Movement Powder Mixer utilises cross revolving shafts. It s main functional parts are made up of a revolving double cone container placed at an incline, driven by a shaft placed asymmetrically; plus internal helical blade components supported on a symmetrically placed shaft. All of these components with their differing speeds of revolution are driven by one power system. The points of contact between the helical blade's revolving axis and the container are sealed by special sealing components. When material is needed to be discharged, the operator can utilise methods of positive shake or reverse shake, initiated by buttons on the control panel. These mechanisms make the container shake whilst at the same time the revolving blades speed up the discharge rate. All parts of this machine that come into contact with product are made of high quality stainless steel.
2 Important Features of Our Machine The fact that the container revolves around an asymmetrically slanted axis means that any dead angle at the bottom of the container is completely eliminated and all powders are moved left and right, up and down, simultaneously, with the result that mixing of all of the powders is facilitated. Furthermore, the relatively faster speed of revolution of the internally situated helical blades enhances the speed and quality of mixing. This action is yet further enhanced by the fact that there are two sets of internal blades: an outer set and an inner set. The revolutions of these two sets of internal blades gives the result that the powder mixtures can be stirred in a vertical direction and moved from a middle position to the two sides of the container at the same time. So this machine mixes materials more uniformly. Tests performed in the mixing of metal alloy powder, which has very strict requirements for mix quality, show that if a traditional V-shape mixer is used lengthy running times are required to meet specification, (not infrequently up to 24 hours for a V-type mixer) whereas use of our SUREŠA Duo Movement Powder Mixer will require just half of that time to meet standard. If the powders are of more ordinary types, several minutes of processing will suffice. The SUREŠA Duo Movement Powder Mixer is particularly effective for mixing powders which have large differences in specific gravity. Because the revolving helical blades inside this machine exert down force any floating light powder can be pressed down into the heavier powder and mixed completely. 5 Production Advantage Ideal Mixing Effect: Due to the container revolving asymmetrically, powders are mixed more evenly without blind spots developing. At the same time, the stirring action of the blades ensures that powders are mixed more meticulously and completely in all respects. High Loading Ratio: Compared with any standard 3D mixer, the SUREŠA Duo Movement Powder Mixer enables much higher loading ratios. This is because the shovels take up a major share of the burden of mixing. The maximum loading rate can be as high as 75% of container volume and this means, that for the same volume of material, the loading capacity of our one machine is almost equivalent to two standard 3D mixers. Time-saving: In effect, the double movement mixing process is equivalent to two standard individual mixing processes super imposed, one to the other, and that is the key to our machine s high level of efficiency. Compared with standard 3D mixers, the SUREŠA Duo Movement Powder Mixer will normally save 60% of the time needed to meet a specific mixing standard. Money-saving: Compared with any traditional mixer our Machine will save time of around 60%, save electricity of around 70%, save space of around 50% and enable money saving at around 30% overall. Usage Characteristics Convenient to discharge mixture: The angle of intersection between the loading port and the discharge port is designed at 120 in order to provide good views of how much mixture is left in the container whilst discharge is in process. Compared with the same volume standard 3D mixer, the loading port of the SUREŠA Duo Movement Powder Mixer is 30% lower, making it much more convenient for loading material and requiring no installation of a loading platform. Easy to operate: The fact that the positive shake button and the reverse shake button are installed into the operating panel means that, as these double buttons need to be pressed at the same time for safety reasons, the machine is easy to operate. Safety of use: Compared with the same volume 3D mixer, the compact structure and smaller radius of the container s revolution coupled with a much smaller bulge means that the SUREŠA Duo Movement Powder Mixer is very safe to use.

7 A few words on several Key Questions in Mixing Technology Powder Fluidity impacts on mixing technology Generally speaking, powders will be more easily mixed if they are smooth and less easily mixed if their fluidity (that is adhesiveness) properties are high. Dry powder fluidity can be tested with angle α as in the picture shown below. If the angle α is small, it means that the powder is smooth and has good fluidity. When the angle α is more than 40, its fluidity will start becoming problematical. It will be difficult to mix evenly powder that registers an α angle of more than 45 in a standard 3D mixer. Some operators solve this problem by way of installing into the chamber steel chain, steel ball and so on which contribute the functions of sling, hurl and grind. However such measures increase the likelihood of contamination because of the striking and grinding effect that is caused between chains. What is worse is the generation of static energy that risks bringing into being very serious potential safety hazards. The unique internal structure of our SUREŠA Duo Movement Powder Mixer, means that the helical blades cut and press and excellently achieve the mixing of even dry powder that has characteristics of high adhesiveness. Powder particle size impacts on mixing effect Generally speaking, operators use screen number to define the degree of powder thickness. The finer the powder and the bigger the screen number, the more difficult is the mixing of the powder. When the screen number shows more than 300, successful mixing is not a simple matter. Because the screen number of the powder increases by geometric series in unit volume when the powder is fine and the quantity of powder is added in unit volume, the mixing task will be greatly increased. Moreover, the physical characteristics of powder will change when the powder is ultra fine. For example, adhesiveness increases and absorption capacity is added. Such characteristics put up great barriers to successful mixing. Any test of any particular powder will show that the smaller the particle size, the more difficult to deal with the fluidity becomes. Such cases demand higher levels of mixing efficiencies! In terms of mixing efficiency, at present no machine surpasses our SUREŠA Duo Movement Powder Mixer nor even approaches its levels of efficiency. Our machine is superbly capable of mixing even super fine powders. Differences between light powder and heavy powder impact on the mixing efficiencies. When producing new materials products, non metallic powder needs to be added into metallic powder. In such cases it is absolutely a barrier to new technology development when there is the need to mix powders which have specific gravity of a tenfold difference. It is not infrequently difficult to mix evenly powders where the difference in specific gravity is only double. The reason is that in the process of mixing, the light powder always floats at the top of the container or at least above the heavier powder. Using the traditional mixer which has only one container revolving, it is difficult to push down light powder into heavier powder, even if the mixing time is greatly prolonged. The revolving container of the SUREŠA Duo Movement Powder Mixer combined with the full size revolving blades inside the container means that it is very easy to press light powder across and into heavy powder and get an ideal mixing result Fake particle impacts on mixing effect Fake particle is fine powder that hugs together and forms bigger clusters. There are many reasons why fake particles form. These include moist surrounding, static electricity adsorption, adhesiveness caused by high temperature processing and so on. If the fake particle is not broken up during mixing operations, it will certainly disrupt successful mixing and negatively influence the quality of the end product. To avoid fake particle formation, cutting power is needed in order to break up the results of adhesiveness in fine powder. Ordinary 3D mixers are helpless in the attempt to break up fake
8 particle because they offer no cutting power. The movement of the full size blades inside our double movement mixer can open up and break up the fake particle very efficiently. If, however, the adhesiveness is very strong and hard, even our SUREŠA Duo Movement Powder Mixer may not be able to break up the particle completely. What is sure, however, is that if our machine cannot do this, no other existing machine can. Dry Powder mixing technology impacts on the end product If the performance of the end product is unstable, it is very likely that this is caused by flaws in the technology of mixing differing volumes of raw powder materials. When adding small quantities of powder into larger quantities, it is these small quantities that play a crucial role in the performance of the end product. Therefore, successful mixing of these small quantities into the larger base is critical. The quality of the end product can be greatly facilitated if we study carefully the characteristics of the dry powder including fluidity, specific gravity, thickness of particle etc., and choose a suitable mixer as well as a suitable mixing technology!
