2 CERAMICS AND REFRACTORIES TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT COMPANY Who we are CERECO S.A. is a technological company, located at the Region of Sterea Ellada, providing scientific and technical support to the industry and SMEs. It was founded in 1986 and its capital is shared by the State as well as 16 of the largest Greek companies involved in the ceramics sector. CERECO s main activities are: Applied Research, developing core technologies in ceramic materials Industrial Research, focusing on the development and pilot production of innovative products Integrated solutions in environmental control and protection Networking and innovation promotion Certification services and products quality control (accredited labs for structural materials testing) CERECO s laboratories are fully equipped to carry out high level research on every stage of the ceramics production procedure and a number of high technology analytical techniques are available for materials characterizations. Ceramic manufacturing facilities include, high-technology furnaces, powder synthesis equipment, equipment for liquid chemistry routes and spray drying systems (lab and pilot scale production) while many shaping techniques are used for the production of ceramic bodies with simple or intricate shapes. Furthermore, Thermal Spraying facilities (APS, SPPS, VPS, HVOF), a surface technology laboratory, an excimer laser micromachining system and an RF/DC sputtering system are also available at CERECO s labs. Utilizing its know-how and modern facilities, today CERECO is capable to produce in pilot scale, upon client s request a great number of innovative ceramic products for high-tech industrial applications.
