2 Fractionation and Tray Sizing (4 Day Course) Course Description This course provides the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for fractionation design and tray sizing. Distillation is the most common separation technique and is energy intensive. Distillation can consume more than 50% of a process plant s operating energy cost. A way to improve an existing plant s operating cost or to reduce a new distillation system s operating cost is to improve the efficiency and operations by correct equipment selection, maintenance, process optimization and control. 3 Pinch Technology (1 Day Course) Course Description Pinch technology is a powerful process design and retrofit tool to minimize process-unit utilities consumption in chemical processing facilities (including steam, fuel, process heat, cooling water, and the use of fin fans) and to find the optimum way to use them, which often results in financial savings. This one-day course provides the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to improve the operation, profitability, and safety of a plant s Crude and Vacuum units.
