INTRODUCTION ASIF RICE MILL is the part of Shah Muhammad Rice Mills where a first milestone was builds in It is very honouring to get the knowledge that the owners of the company was farmers and it was the vision of Mr: Shah Mohammad to establish milling unit that can support our farmers and their families. Latter after getting the awareness in the market, Mr: Shah Mohammad, established many other Milling units to increase the Job Facilities in the Village. Growth was considered as major Achievement of Mr: Shah, Latter his dream was followed by his Elder son Mr: Mumtaz Ali, Mr: Mumtaz Ali Shaikh Was the farmer as well as the managing director of the Shah Mohammad Rice Mills, ASIF RICE MILLS was established in 1982 as to carry forward the vision of Mr: Shah Mohammad. Today Asif Rice Mills handling all the Group including Shah Mohammad Rice Mills and other foreign Subsidiaries. Asif Rice Mill take care of the commodity from the initial stage when the farmers cultivate seeds in their land and guides the farmers to take care the plants by providing fertilizers as well. Routinely checks the plants health and lands fertility with the concern of higher quality output of rice. Asif Rice Group has established strong strategic and commercial alliances with its retail partners in Middle East, Africans & European Markets through organic growth and acquisitions in both branded and private label sectors. Asif Rice Group proofed to be one of a leading exporter of rice food products from Pakistan. The significant activity of the company is to supplies of different kinds of rice with the higher quality. History 1ST GENERATION The foundation of the ARM goes deep down to the roots of the agri-family who knows the best about rice cultivation & farmers, who have passed generations in Rice farming. The first Husking unit Shah Muhammad Rice Mill was installed in Shahdadkot, Sindh in 1962 in the name of Shah Muhammad (late) by Mr. Mumtaz Ali Shaikh, father of Asif Ali Shaikh. Shah Muhammad, the father of Mumtaz Ali Shaikh was a man who believed in utmost dignity & utter honesty and he delivered these success factors to his offspring. Shahdadkot is the second largest paddy producer of Basmati & non Basmati in Pakistan. The idea to install a husking Unit miles away from the city is to reach the Rice fields, provide guidelines to the farmers & buy the best quality hand harvested & threshed paddy. Families in the modern age demands pure, sweet & scented Rice & purchase only the highest refined quality of nutritious Rice. Keeping in view, we at ARM provide the best quality food grains selected & processed through Standardized procedures, nutritionally checked & tested in our laboratories & always endeavor to supply THE BEST to meet our customers expectations. 2ND GENERATION Mr Mumtaz Shaikh introduced fair trade in the town. With his utmost efforts he was succeeded in setting up Shahdadkot Rice Association & became the president of the association. The object was to improve Rice cultivation, help farmers, and mitigate the monopoly by landlord & buyers. Huge customer s demand & growth caused ARM to expand its success. In 1982, Mr. Mumtaz shaikh launched another unit, in the name of Asif Rice Mills which was then run by his elder son Muhammad Hanif Shaikh. Blessed with Allah grace & parents prayers Mr. Hanif took the business to the next level & achieved the major market share. The new Rice processing unit was exclusively installed to process the quality Rice of Export level. ARM was considered as a trend setter in introducing latest technology in Rice processing business in the local market. It provides Quality Assurance for its products. 4

5 ASIF GROUP ASIF RICE PROCESSING UNIT-1 Asif Ali Shaikh, the second elder son of Mumtaz Ali shaikh also proved himself another helping hand for the family business and expanded the business internationally by setting up head office at Karachi in the back bone of economical hub. Asif Rice Processing unit-1 was installed in 2001, especially to re-process the Quality Rice for the reputed Importers / Buyers in the Hub Centre of Shah Mohammad Rice Mills This unit has the capacity to process the 15.MT goods per/hr (this unit specially used for white rice) ASIF RICE PROCCESSING UNIT-2 Unit-2. ARM has the privilege in installing the second unit in Khairpur Nathan Shah Dadu in This unit is spread over 21 acres at the main road. Dadu is the hub of paddy arrival from all provinces through out the This unit has capacity to process the goods up to 05 M.T/hr. ASIF RICE MILLS & RICE PROCESSING UNIT-3 UNIT-3 was installed in 2003 in HYDERABAD, Sindh, few miles away from the coast line of the Tharparkar. It ensures & provides an early delivery to our buyers and helps us to enhance distribution services. This unit has the capacity to process the goods up to 10M.T/ hr ASIF RICE PROCCESSING UNIT-4 Unit-4 was installed in 2008 at main Site Area, industrial zone of Karachi, located near by Karachi sea port. This plant is specially designed for ARM brand distribution, bulk supply with biggest storage among all units. This unit has a capacity to process the goods up to 10 M.T/hr 5

The reason to build the parboiling unit in the same area was to make a centralised location where every thing can be monitored under one roof with the low cost. It was the only unit for ARM private export with latest color sortex. color sorter is a good solution for separating contaminations from good rice in rice production, effectively removing chalky rice, red-slimed rice, small stones, black rice etc from good quality rice so that the finally packed rice is quality guaranteed. This unit has the capacity to process the parboiled Rice up to 7 M.T/hr. ASIF RICE PARBOILING & PROCESSING UNIT-2 In 2007, Asif Rice Group established another Parboiled unit in khairpur Nathan shah in the same area where the pervious White processing unit was installed. The reason to established the unit under same roof was because to the area was the major producer of the paddy. This company assures in three ways those are safety foods and quality management, quality from the harvest to table, pre-harvest food safety and quality approaches. With these all ARM tied up with many certification councils to test their products continuously and according to their buyers requirements. Infrastructure wise ARM has bigger mill, harvest land and new technology machineries. The most of the machines are fully automated. Because of having automation in major process including combi cleaner, paddy separator, de-stoner, grader, polisher, length separator, colour sorter, odour remover s quality will be maintained without fail. Even though these machines are helpful to maintain and preserve all the nutrients and vitamins. These are once again categorise in agricultural wise, husking unit wise, reprocessing unit wise, parboiling wise. ARM accredited and affiliated with many agencies, firms and bodies, some of those are REAP, Chamber of Commerce, SBRMA, KWGA, HACCP & ISO, Ali baba Trust Passed, FDA and others. 11
