A combination seed treatment bringing a new active ingredient Sedaxane Sedaxane Fludioxonil Metalaxyl-m For control of 3 seedling damping-off diseases in sugar beet SDHI, brings a new mode-of-action Broad spectrum disease control. Step change in Rhizoctonia control Root health Backbone of Syngenta s global seedcare fungicide portfolio Broad spectrum disease control A long-established active ingredient Specific control of Oomycetes

Excellent control of Rhizoctonia solani Disease severity, artificial soil inoculation AG2-2-IIIB (2013/14, laboratory, n=9) VIBRANCE SB AATIRAM 65 FS VIBRANCE SB significantly improves percentage of healthy plants compared to AATIRAM 65 FS CHECK INOCULATED CHECK NON- INOCULATED At destructive assessment BBCH 12-16

Excellent control of Phoma betae Disease severity, artificial soil inoculation 2013/14, laboratory, n=10. Data submitted for registration VIBRANCE SB AATIRAM 65 FS VIBRANCE SB significantly improves percentage of healthy plants compared to AATIRAM 65 FS CHECK INOCULATED CHECK NON- INOCULATED At destructive assessment BBCH 12-16

SDX active across Rhizoctonia AG groups FDL also active against Rhizoctonia. Combination of SDX together with FDL brings dual activity

Rooting power under Rhizoctonia pressure Root excavation at end of study Rhizoctonia tolerant basic treatment + AATIRAM 65 Rhizoctonia susceptible basic treatment + AATIRAM 65 Rhizoctonia tolerant variety + VIBRANCE SB revealed biggest root / soil agglomerates Predominantly unhindered growth of tap root and side roots VIBRANCE SB brings a new rooting dimension compared to thiram Rhizoctonia tolerant basic treatment + Plus demonstrates strong, long-lasting disease control

Industry Trials: Extensive programme 2015 Objectives SAF: Crop Tolerance, Vigor & Disease Control; in small plot trials Variety and Tested Variants HQ/LQ; Rhizoctonia susceptible & tolerant Sowing Dates IfZ / COBRI at conventional timing, singleing in some trials Fr: Late sowing, not optimum to get diseases Sowing Conditions Optimum period for planting early March (SB sowing by growers) Weather dry and cold (sowing of TLP trials) Sugarbeet Tour in DE, Visual effect of Vibrance SB on plant growth

SAF_R_Rhizoctonia_Vibrance SB (FC) 1 Trial at ITB / With Rhizoctonia inoculation* High infestation; Yield ( in tons / ha of Fresh root beet) 70.0 Nett Root Yield SB1. TMTD + Tachigaren SB2. Vibrance SB + Tachigaren Variety A- Rhizoctonia Susceptible SB5. TMTD + Tachigaren SB6. Vibrance SB + Tachigaren Variety B - Rhizoctonia Tolerant *AG2-2 IIIB

SAF_R_Vibrance SB (FC) ITB trial R1/ With Rhizoctonia inoculation*; High infection SB1.TMTD SB2. Vibrance SB SB5. TMTD SB6. Vibrance SB Variety A- Rhizoctonia Susceptible Variety B - Rhizoctonia Tolerant Trial at Fontaine Chaalis (Oise / 60) ; Pictures taken on / From different blocks *AG2-2 IIIB

Crop safety trials preliminary conclusions Crop tolerance (preliminary data 2015) - Plant numbers at crop establishment, Vibrance SB was comparable to thiram treatment - Crop tolerance (2013/2014): No difference at early stages. Vibrance SB gave equal to or sometimes more than, plant numbers at crop establishment compared to thiram treatment Positioning in or on the pellet - All trials with Vibrance SB applied as top coat to pellet programme will investigate primed vs. unprimed seeds, and positioning on / in pellet - Different application methods are being tested - Seed Cos welcome to initiate tests; product is available. Discuss protocol with Seedcare

2015 field trial inoculated with R. solani (AG2-2-IIIB) Rhizoctonia Susceptible + thiram Rhizoctonia Tolerant + Vibrance SB 12

2015 Seedcare trials summary (Greenhouse & Field trials) Trends observed on 16 trials across EU (2 greenhouse + 14 field trials*): Pest Incidence Vibrance SB more effective compared to Thiram across all varieties, however as tolerance increases, these differences are smaller. Plant counts Plant losses during the season were smaller in Vibrance SB treated plots compared to Thiram across all varieties. Pest Severity on roots (harvest) Overall,no difference between Thiram and Vibrance SB visible at harvest (seed treatment does not persist so long). However, some trials show lower disease severity on beets from Vibrance SB treated plots as compared to Thiram, mostly on susceptible varieties. No difference between the more tolerant varieties. *artificially inoculated

Market Timelines Late research Early development Late development 1 st Registration 1 st Sales United States Achieved Jul 15 Available for 2016 season (USA) EU* Registration package submitted Sept 15 Expected Nov 2016 in NL. Rest EU to follow in 2017 Outside EU* Anticipated 2019 *EU countries included: NL, BE, UK, FR, DE, AT, CZ, PL, SK, LT, SE, DK, FI, IT, ES, RO *Outside EU, countries included: Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, STANS Meanwhile, thiram in sugar beet continues to be at risk in EU28. Requires re-registration at significant cost

Genetics x Vibrance SB Seedcare x Amistar Technology TM based solutions - Internal SYT trials - Rhizoctonia Genetic project IfZ Südzucker project 2015 DE

Rhizoctonia disease incidence - % infected plants at BBCH49* Vibrance SB superior to thiram across all varieties Additional of foliar fungicide improves control on top of the seed treatment benefit *Internal trials in DE (2015)

Rhizoctonia disease incidence - % root area infected at harvest Clear benefit of foliar fungicide on top of seed treatment for superior control of beet infections

Outlook VIBRANCE SB + Tolerant variety + Foliar application Untreated Rhizoctonia Program Artificial infection: Rhizoctonia (AG2-2-IIIB) Pictures: Stefan Terhalle; Trial in Tannershausen (Bayern)

the long awaited fungicide ST innovation for better sugar beet establishment, providing - stronger, healthier roots - better ground coverage - higher, more consistent yields Superior control of Rhizoctonia solani (disease incidence and disease severity) compared to AATIRAM 65 FS Long-lasting protection against soil-born pathogens; plus excellent rooting power demonstrated under R. solani pressure Superior control of Phoma betae and Pythium (plant stand count, disease severity) compared to AATIRAM 65 FS Crop safe in field trials (2013/2014/2015) When combined with a fungicide as part of an integrated solution, clear benefits observed in late Rhizoctonia control and sugar yield
