A combination seed treatment bringing a new active ingredient Sedaxane Sedaxane Fludioxonil Metalaxyl-m For control of 3 seedling damping-off diseases in sugar beet SDHI, brings a new mode-of-action Broad spectrum disease control. Step change in Rhizoctonia control Root health Backbone of Syngenta s global seedcare fungicide portfolio Broad spectrum disease control A long-established active ingredient Specific control of Oomycetes
Excellent control of Rhizoctonia solani Disease severity, artificial soil inoculation AG2-2-IIIB (2013/14, laboratory, n=9) VIBRANCE SB AATIRAM 65 FS VIBRANCE SB significantly improves percentage of healthy plants compared to AATIRAM 65 FS CHECK INOCULATED CHECK NON- INOCULATED At destructive assessment BBCH 12-16
Excellent control of Phoma betae Disease severity, artificial soil inoculation 2013/14, laboratory, n=10. 7 Rooting power under Rhizoctonia pressure Root excavation at end of study Rhizoctonia tolerant basic treatment + AATIRAM 65 Rhizoctonia susceptible basic treatment + AATIRAM 65 Rhizoctonia tolerant variety + VIBRANCE SB revealed biggest root / soil agglomerates Predominantly unhindered growth of tap root and side roots VIBRANCE SB brings a new rooting dimension compared to thiram Rhizoctonia tolerant basic treatment + Plus demonstrates strong, long-lasting disease control
Industry Trials: Extensive programme 2015 Objectives SAF: Crop Tolerance, Vigor & Disease Control; in small plot trials Variety and Tested Variants HQ/LQ; Rhizoctonia susceptible & tolerant Sowing Dates IfZ / COBRI at conventional timing, singleing in some trials Fr: Late sowing, not optimum to get diseases Sowing Conditions Optimum period for planting early March (SB sowing by growers) Weather dry and cold (sowing of TLP trials) Sugarbeet Tour in DE, Visual effect of Vibrance SB on plant growth

Crop safety trials preliminary conclusions Crop tolerance (preliminary data 2015) - Plant numbers at crop establishment, Vibrance SB was comparable to thiram treatment - Crop tolerance (2013/2014): No difference at early stages. Vibrance SB gave equal to or sometimes more than, plant numbers at crop establishment compared to thiram treatment Positioning in or on the pellet - All trials with Vibrance SB applied as top coat to pellet programme will investigate primed vs. unprimed seeds, and positioning on / in pellet - Different application methods are being tested - Seed Cos welcome to initiate tests; product is available. Discuss protocol with Seedcare
2015 field trial inoculated with R. solani (AG2-2-IIIB) Rhizoctonia Susceptible + thiram Rhizoctonia Tolerant + Vibrance SB 12
2015 Seedcare trials summary (Greenhouse & Field trials) Trends observed on 16 trials across EU (2 greenhouse + 14 field trials*): Pest Incidence Vibrance SB more effective compared to Thiram across all varieties, however as tolerance increases, these differences are smaller. Plant counts Plant losses during the season were smaller in Vibrance SB treated plots compared to Thiram across all varieties. Pest Severity on roots (harvest) Overall,no difference between Thiram and Vibrance SB visible at harvest (seed treatment does not persist so long). However, some trials show lower disease severity on beets from Vibrance SB treated plots as compared to Thiram, mostly on susceptible varieties. No difference between the more tolerant varieties. *artificially inoculated
