2 The VERITAS, Oracle and Sun (VOS) Initiative A platform to build on The VOS Initiative provides an efficient approach to deploying incredibly reliable database platforms that can scale to adapt to your needs with increasing power and capability. Streamlined infrastructure deployment and support allows you to focus your valuable technical resources on the applications required to meet your business objectives. All VOS configurations are designed for flexibility and growth by increasing processors and storage, or adding additional software solutions. You can even purchase VOS configurations with a Capacity-on-Demand feature. In this model, Sun delivers additional processor and memory capacity in the server, but you purchase Right-to-Use (RTU) licenses only for the active processor and memory. You can then easily scale your system as needed by activating additional processors through the purchase of additional RTU licenses, without the need for any installation. Expert consultants assess the readiness of people, processes and products to support availability goals and team together to develop and deploy mission-critical production environments designed to help meet customers high availability demands. Joint Escalation Center (JEC) in Pleasanton, CA VERITAS, Oracle and Sun also offer training solutions developed to meet the specific training needs of VOS configurations. These solutions apply to server, storage and software training. By selecting a training solution, you can build the technical expertise needed to maximize your investment. I am very happy with the expert support I received from the VERITAS, Oracle and Sun (VOS) Joint Escalation Center (JEC). When my mission-critical, data warehouse support call was quickly escalated to the VOS JEC, I immediately knew I was in good hands. JEC specialists asked the right questions upfront and worked with us 24x7 to conduct root cause analysis.
