7 Question 1: What were the drivers for your network infrastructure upgrades? 7 Our 2 hospital system became one Up to this point we used Cisco wired and wireless Met with Siemens and Enterasys in 2008 Evaluation process Hospital opened November 22, 2009 Requirements - Complete wireless coverage - 10G redundant backbone - 1 G and PoE to the desktop - Improve technical support - IP telephony support - Flexibility - Integration with existing Cisco infrastructure during migration - VALUE

8 Question 1: What were the drivers for your network infrastructure upgrades? Formerly a Nortel wired infrastructure We had Cisco wireless with 250 autonomous access points Meaningful Use initiatives could not be supported on existing infrastructure - Experiencing failures and unacceptable downtime placing care at risk Evaluation process took 8 months - Security was important factor - Support - Flexibility and robustness of infrastructure were differentiators - Strong references, on site visits with existing customers, proven high availability for EMR applications 8

9 Question #2: Can you share how you use wireless today and what plans you have? Improving clinical workflow - Spacelabs patient monitoring - Mobile carts for BMV - IV smart pumps - Carts for providers and anesthesia - WiFi Ascom phones - Aggregate Spacelabs alarms, nurse call, infant security and RTLS patient wandering - All EMR activities accomplished by nurses with mobile carts and a wireless phone - Patient call button goes to nurse s phone offering immediate communication - Enterasys wireless offers us flexibility - Policy control can be embedded into the wireless and is consistent with the wired infrastructure - Seamless introduction of new devices, process and applications 9

Nurses use mobile carts - Mobile carts for bedside charting and medication distribution - Carts for providers and anesthesia - WiFi Polycom phones - All EMR activities accomplished by nurses with mobile carts - Wireless barcode scanners for medication dispensing Flexible wireless infrastructure will allow us to: - Seamlessly roll out 300 wireless IV pumps - Enable physicians use of ipads/tablets for EMR access 10

Designed redundancy and fast fail-over are important - We have achieved zero unplanned downtime for 2+ years Being efficient and responsive to our customers - NetSight (Enterasys management tool) allows us to do more with less - Common command set amongst all devices and centralized control - Flexibility BYOD solutions for our providers - Enables use of their own devices to securely access their office EMR and MEDITECH from either Citrix XenApp or natively - Extensibility is key as well - Deploying NAC, IPS and SIEM (Security Information and Event Manager) - Reduces risk profile - Improves efficiency - Mitigates threats rapidly for fast time to resolution 11
