SEDIMENT AND EROSION CONTROLS ARE TO REMAIN IN PLACE AFTER SITE RESTORATION HAS BEEN COMPLETED UNTIL ALL DISTURBED S ARE STABILIZED. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING THE SEDIMENT AND EROSION CONTROLS UNTIL THE RESTORED AREAS ARE STABILIZED. 8 GENERAL NOTES 1. SEQUENCING OF SOIL REMEDIATION ACTIVITIES WILL BE COORDINATED WITH THE ENGINEER AND OTHER ON-SITE CONTRACTORS. IT WILL INCLUDE AND OFF-SITE REMOVAL OF CT REGULATED WASTE AND POSSIBLE HAZARDOUS WASTE. 2. CONDITIONS, AS PRESENTED, REPRESENT THOSE CURRENT AS OF THE DATE OF THE FIELD SURVEY. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FIELD VERIFICATION OF SITE CONDITIONS PRIOR TO THE START OF WORK. 3. THE UTILITIES SHOWN HAVE BEEN LOCATED FROM DRAWINGS BY OTHERS. THE ENGINEER MAKES NO GUARANTEE THAT THE UNDERGROUND UTILITIES SHOWN COMPRISE ALL SUCH UTILITIES IN THE AREA, EITHER IN SERVICE OR ABANDONED. THE ENGINEER FURTHER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE UNDERGROUND UTILITIES SHOWN ARE IN THE EXACT LOCATION INDICATED. THE ENGINEER HAS NOT PHYSICALLY LOCATED THE UNDERGROUND UTILITIES. ALL FUEL, OIL, PAINT OR ANY OTHER HAZARDOUS MATERIALS SHALL BE STORED IN A SECONDARY CONTAINMENT AREA AND SECURED IN A LOCKED AREA WITH AN IMPERVIOUS FLOOR DURING NON-WORK HOURS. 6. A SUPPLY OF ABSORBENT SPILL RESPONSE MATERIAL SUCH AS BOOMS OR BLANKETS SHALL BE MADE AVAILABLE AT THE CONSTRUCTION SITE AT ALL TIMES TO CLEAN UP POTENTIAL SPILLS OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS SUCH AS GASOLINE AND OIL. 7. SPILLS OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS SHALL BE REPORTED IMMEDIATELY TO: DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION OIL AND CHEMICAL SPILLS UNIT (860) OR THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTIFYING CALL-BEFORE-YOU-DIG AT A MINIMUM OF 72 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF ANY SUB WORK TO ARRANGE FOR THE MARK OUT OF UNDERGROUND UTILITIES. CONNECTICUT CALL BEFORE YOU DIG THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SECURING ALL SITE TRAFFIC GATES AT THE END OF EACH CONSTRUCTION DAY. 10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TRANSPORT AND DISPOSAL OF ALL WASTES GENERATED DURING THE PROJECT. 11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ANY REQUIRED UTILITY WORK WITH THE RESPECTIVE UTILITY. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL COORDINATION AND COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CUSTOMER OWNED SERVICES AND FOR ALL UTILITY WORK MADE FOR THE CONTRACTOR'S CONVENIENCE, INCLUDING TEMPORARY UTILITY RELOCATION(S) AND/OR RECONNECTION(S). 12. S RESTRICTING PEDESTRIAN FOOT TRAFFIC SHALL INDICATE CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS, DO NOT ENTER. S SHALL BE ORANGE REFLECTIVE BACKGROUND WITH BLACK LETTERING AND CONSTRUCTED FROM A DURABLE MATERIAL THAT WILL REMAIN IN GOOD CONDITION THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT. S SHALL BE CONSPICUOUSLY POSTED AT EACH SIDEWALK/WALKWAY. 13. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RETAIN THE SERVICES OF A CT LICENSED LAND SURVEYOR TO ASSIST WITH THE SOIL REMOVAL AND DOCUMENTATION. 8. FOLLOWING THE ENGINEER'S APPROVAL, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL EXCAVATE THE SOIL WITHIN THE REMEDIATION AREA TO THE APPROVED BOTTOM ELEVATIONS AND TO THE HORIZONTAL EXTENTS SHOWN IN THE CONTRACT DRAWINGS. THE SURVEYOR SHALL CONFIRM REQUIRED DEPTHS HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED PRIOR TO ANY BACKFILL, AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER. 9. THE CT LICENSED SURVEYOR SHALL SURVEY FLAGGED CONFIRMATION SAMPLE LOCATIONS PRIOR TO BACKFILLING. 10. THE ENGINEER SHALL PROVIDE FOR THE LABORATORY ANALYSIS OF CONFIRMATION SAMPLES AND WITHIN 5 DAYS OF CONFIRMATION SAMPLE COLLECTION, SHALL PROVIDE WRITTEN DIRECTIVE TO THE CONTRACTOR AS TO WHETHER ADDITIONAL IS REQUIRED AND IF SO, TO THE REQUIRED EXTENT. 11.
