THREE TO THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL DOCUMENTS April4, 2014 The following changes, additions, or deletions shall be made to the following documents; all other conditions shall remain the same. I. SPECIFICATIONS Item# 1. ANNOUNCEMENT TO PREQUALIFIED PROPOSERS Page 1 of 2, delete the paragraph that reads: "Proposals must be received on or before: 4:00 P.M., WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16, Timely submitted Lump Sum Base Price Proposals shall be publicly opened at UC San Diego, Facilities Design & Construction, North Torrey Pines Road, Suite 465; La Jolla, CA 92037, at 3:00P.M. on Thursday, April17, 2014, at the above address. UC San Diego maps can be found at 2. Delete the Proposal Schedule revised 3/19/2014 and substitute the enclosed Proposal Schedule revised 4/4/2014. II. RFI QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Item# 1. Question: Addendum #1 has a conflict with the proposal submittal time between the "Announcement to Prequalified Proposers" and the "Proposal Schedule", 4:00 pm and 14:00 (2:00pm) respectively. Which is correct? Answer: See item I. Specifications above for correct proposal submission time. 2. Question: Please confirm that the scoring analysis will include the cost of the lump sum base price, daily rate of compensation, and both alternates? Answer: That is correct. UCSD- FD&C Page 1 of 3

4 777/ML -369/966619 3. Question: Please confirm if a drain receiver is required at the thermal energy storage tank location.

3 4 777/ML -369/ Question: Please confirm if a drain receiver is required at the thermal energy storage tank location. If so, please confirm the desired size of receiver outlet line and please confirm if the discharge is required to be routed to sewer or storm drain system? Answer: The TES tank (and the second, future, TES tank) does need the capability to be drained. This means that a sanitary sewer line must be provided to the site to allow the TES tank to drain to it. The engineer on the design/build team should determine the sanitary sewer line size as part of their design. The project is design/build; therefore, the design/build teams would accommodate this (and other needed items) in their designs for a complete and operational TES system. 4. Question: Addendum #2: Enclosure #8- DPP IT Existing Site Plan shows a 25' setback to the east side of the limit of work. This setback conflicts with the DPP revised Site Boundary drawing (enclosure #5) in Addendum #1. Please confirm that the Site Boundary in Addendum #1 is correct and that there is no 25' setback to the east? Answer: There is no 25' setback to the east. The IT plan is for the IT component only, not setback information. 5. Question: Please confirm that the emergency drains (parking deck floor drains) below the roof level deck will drain to the storm system (after suitable treatment per the criteria described in Addendum #2- Question #23). Answer: All floor drains inside the parking structure that are not exposed to stormwater need to go to sewer. UCSD stormwater regulations does not allow non-stormwater in the storm drain Roof drains exposed to rain can go to the storm drain after treatment. 6. Question: Specification Section 1.2.C it is indicated that the Design Builder shall include the cost of utilities utilized during construction as part of the scope of work (construction water and electricity consumption). Please confirm that the cost of water for the initial filling of the TES tank during startup is not to be part of the cost of the work? Answer: Cost of water for TES tank will not be part of DB contract. 7. Question: Page 6 of section Eiectric Traction Elevators, item 12 states (MRL not acceptable). Please confirm that we are allowed to use a machine room-less elevator? Are non-proprietary microprocessor controllers required? Answer: Yes, machine room-less elevators are permitted. However, the requirement for non-proprietary microprocessors must be provided. 8. Question: According to Sec , "An allowable soil bearing capacity of 5,000 psf can be used, with increases of 500 psf for each foot of depth below the minimum and 250 psf for each foot of width beyond the minimum up to a maximum of 7,500 psf. Can we use this bearing capacity for mat foundation? If yes, can we increase the capacity following above provision? If no, please provide me a bearing capacity for mat foundation. Answer: Yes. Assumes the mat foundation bottom will be supported UCSD-FD&C Page 2 of 3

4 4777/A4L-369/ Question: Please provide me soil subgrade modulus. It is a key parameter to design mat foundation. Answer: 200 pci. Assumes the mat foundation bottom will be supported 10. Question: Per Sec , "Lateral loads will be resisted by friction between the bottoms of footings and passive pressure on the faces of footings and other structural elements below grade. An allowable coefficient of friction of 0.30 can be used". Can I use 0.30 as the coefficient of friction factor between mat foundation and soil? Answer: Yes. I Proposals and presentations will be scored according to identified scoring criteria. J Public Bid Opening 3:00P.M. Late Proposals: Any proposal, modification, or revision, that is received at the designated UCSD Facilities Design & Construction location after the exact time specified for receipt of proposals is "late" and will not be considered unless it was the only proposal received.
