2 Addendum No. 1 Project: Department of National Defence Sudbury Armoury Interior Renovations 333 Riverside Drive, Sudbury Date: January 21, 2016 Project No.: TT ( ) The following information, amendments and revisions shall constitute Addendum No. 1, and shall form an integral part of the Tender Documents and where applicable, shall supersede requirements of other Tender Documents. Bidding Trades shall bring this Addendum to the attention of all sub-trades and suppliers from whom they may be receiving quotations. SPECIFICATIONS ADD-1.1 Refer to specification Section , Construction Sequencing..1 Reference Article 4, Construction Sequencing, Paragraph 4.1:.1 As a clarification note that, in order to minimize the impact on ongoing operations, the Owner will generally vacate the entire building, with the exception of the Main Floor area north of Drill Hall 224, at the commencement of the Work. 3 Addendum No. 1.2 Add the following Article 6, Commencement and Completion: 6.1 Time shall be the essence of the Contract. 6.2 Work under this Contract shall commence immediately that the Contractor is so instructed by the DCC Representative and shall be continued to completion without interruption. 6.3 Immediately upon award of the Contract, the Contractor shall make every effort to expedite submission of shop drawings in order secure required reviews and approvals in order to maximize delivery of materials to site prior to March 31, The existing Drill Hall may be used for site mobilization and storage of materials. Note that exterior site storage on site will not be possible due to ongoing site redevelopment construction activities that will recommence in the Spring. ADD-1.2 Refer to specification Section , Finish Hardware..1 Reference Article 2.2, Keying System and Interchangeable Core Type Cylinder, Paragraph 2.2.8:.1 As a clarification note that interchangeable core type mortise and/or cylinder locks are not required. Provide construction master keyed cylinders. ADD-1.3 Refer to the Door Schedule..1 As a clarification note that where door numbers only are indicated in BOLD ITALICS it indicates that this is an existing door opening; provide new materials and finishes as scheduled..2 Reference Door 103: Provide new door and frame with 3/4 hour fire-resistance rating..3 Reference Door 201A: As a clarification note that the existing hollow metal door and frame are to remain; paint as scheduled. Supply and install new solid core wood (SCWD) door as scheduled..7 Reference Doors 318A, 318B, 318C, 319,321, 327B & 327C: As a clarification note that frame type column should indicate new hollow metal (HM) door frames. ADD-1.4 Refer to the Room Finish Schedule..1 Refer to the General Finish Notes. Add the following:.1 Note that for all locations where new suspended acoustic tile ceiling systems are scheduled (AC / ACU) the existing plaster / gypsum board ceiling finishes are to remain, typical unless noted otherwise. Cut and patch, as required, to suit new HVAC system installations. Refer also to the requirements of specification Section , Hazardous Materials..2 All existing exposed sprinkler piping and conduit shall be painted (PT), typical throughout building, except above locations where new acoustic tile ceilings are scheduled..2 Reference Storage 103:.1 As a clarification note that the existing gypsum board wall material scheduled shall be revised to read: new gypsum board (GBD). Remove existing plywood sheathing / planking..2 As a clarification note that the existing plaster (PL) ceiling material scheduled shall be revised to read: new gypsum board (GBD). Extend new gypsum board ceiling scheduled for Foyer 200 to Stair ST01. 8 Addendum No. 1 ADD-1.9 Refer to Drawing A.311, Roof Plan..1 Reference New Mechanical Units:.1 Provide single ply PVC membrane flashings at mechanical curbs for the new rooftop mounted air handling units. Co-ordinate the membrane flashing installations to suit mechanical and electrical work..2 Apply roofing flashing membranes employing only skilled workers having experience in the work specified, and having an understanding of the design principles of the materials that they are providing..3 Apply roofing / flashing materials in accordance with drawings, specifications, material manufacturer's printed directions, and requirements of jurisdictional authorities. This Addendum forms part of the Contract Documents. MECHANICAL ITEM DESCRIPTION M01.1 Room 307 Officer s Mess; and 306 Officer s Dining. Replace All Existing Rads: For these two rooms, disconnect and remove all existing wall-mounted hydronic radiators. Allow wall repairs to proceed. Use site dimensions to govern the length of new rad enclosures. Install new baseboard rads (per note #25 on drawing M.405) and re-connect existing branch lines. Provide unions and pipe adapters as needed. The existing rad control is intended to remain in service. < see sketch MSK-2> M01.2 Room 200 Foyer Replace Existing Heater for improved appearance. Disconnect and remove existing wall-mounted hydronic rad. Match site dimensions (plus or minus 150 mm) to confirm new rad length. Install 2-tier rad, with 600 mm cabinet height and slope-top, similar to the product in note #25 of dwg M.405. Rad output: minimum 1300 btu/h per foot at 170 F ave. water temp. Prime-coat finish is selected so that the final finish will be applied on-site, by archit. trades. Rad control to remain the same. M01.3 Natural Gas work on drawing M.401, Note #20 is expanded as follows: Where new gas-fired equipment is supplied to the project, the contractor shall confirm the gas pressure available and provide regulators where necessary. The mechanical trade is required to submit the R.F.A form to Union Gas in order to establish the gas meter load and the utility can confirm the gas meter capacity. Refer to M.405 for fixture description; complete with stainless steel wall guards. Break basement slab in order to modify sanitary drain and vents. Drains/ vents shall match existing material, or install couplings to join dissimilar materials. Arrange drains and traps to suit. Install trap seal primer on new floor drain. Extend 13 mm copper water supplies as indicated on plumbing plan and connect to new service faucet.
