1 SmartAL Project High Level Segment On the occasion of the First Steering Committee of the SmartAL Sustainable management of Albanian Territories, rural areas and agriculture: Instrument, policies, strategies Capacity Building-Erasmus+ project, the International Center for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies, Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Montpellier (CIHEAM-IAMM) (Magali Maire, coordinator, in collaboration with the Agricultural University of Tirana, the European University of Tirana, the University Fan S. Noli, Korçe, organized a High Level Segment on 22 October 2018 in Tirana, Albania. A large panel of stakeholders attended and debated on the optimization of the sustainable development of agricultural territories in Albania : the French Embassy in Albania, the Greek Embassy in Albania, the German Embassy in Albania, the UE representative in Albania, the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, the Erasmus+ Agency in Albania, the Regional Environmental Center, the Union of Agro-business in Albania (KASH), the Krop- Agricultural Consulting, the GEOTECHNIKI AIGAIOU, the University of Panteion, Athens, the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, the Paul Valéry University, Montpellier. The major issue was to discuss on the appropriate levers to align the needs of the Albanian job market in the sector of agriculture and rural territories with the academic offer in order to enable future public or private managers to answer the needs of this market.
