The need for this TCR is related to the future re-development of the subject property. Such reports are required for all Plans of Subdivision and Site Plan Control Applications where there is a tree of 10 centimeters in diameter or greater on the property. The approval of this TCR by the City of Ottawa and the issuing of a permit m by them authorizes the removal of approved trees. No tree removal should occur before such a permit is issued. The inventory in this report details the assessment of all individual trees on the subject property. Field work for this report was completed on April 21, The construction proposed for the site includes the addition of two towers with commercial space at the street level. As a result of the degree of site disturbance associated with this construction retention of existing trees within the development site is impossible. All trees on city property along Chapel and Rideau Streets are also to be and only the single curb-side ash tree along Beausoleil Drive will be retained. Five juvenile trees which are in the way of construction are of a size and condition which would allow them to be successfully transplanted. This is noted in Table 1 on pages 2, 3 and 4. No trees on adjacent private property will be impacted by the proposed construction. The tree preservation and protection measures cited in this report will be followed to ensure the survival of the retained tree and hose on adjacent private property. TREE SPECIES, CONDITION, SIZE AND STATUS On the following pages Table 1 details the species, condition, size (diameter) and status of the individual trees on and adjacent to the subject property which will be affected by the proposed construc ion. Each of these trees is referenced by the numbers plotted on the accompanying tree plan prepared by B+H Planning & Landscape. 1

TREE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION MEASURES Preservation and protection measures intended to mitigate damage during construction will be applied for the trees to be retained on and adjacent to the subject property. The following measures are required by the City of Ottawa to ensure tree survival during construction: 4

5 1. Erect a fence at the critical root zone (CRZ 1 ) of trees; 2. Do not place any material or equipment within the CRZ of the tree; 3. Do not attach any signs, notices or posters to any tree; 4. Do not raise or lower the existing grade within the CRZ without approval; 5. Tunnel or bore when digging within the CRZ of a tree; 6. Do not damage the root system, trunk or branches of any tree; 7. Ensure that exhaust fumes from all equipment are NOT directed towards any tree's canopy. 1 The critical root zone (CRZ) is established as being 10 centimetres from the trunk of a tree for every centimetre of trunk Diameter at breast height (DBH).
