18 What is Village Water Demand? An Example Village: 6,000 population, 1200 Households w/lvstk 1,200 Households x 500 liters/day = 600,000 liters/day 25,000 liters per hour 420 liter per minute (100 gallons per minute) Conclusion: Multiple Wells Needed to Meet Demand!

20 Water Distribution System Distribution points serve no more than 250 people and people should not walk more than 400 meters one way Example Village of 6,000 people needs 24 distribution points to meet standards The Village Water Board needs to work with the District Water Engineers to decide where the distribution points are to be located
