Te opeational ange qualitative assessment (eeinafte efeed to as Pase I Assessment) is te fist pase of te.s. Amy Opeational Range Assessment Pogam. Tis Pase I Assessment evaluates te opeational ange aea at Raytown Taining Site (TS) to assess wete fute investigation is nded to detemine if potential munitions constituents of concen (MO) ae o could be migating off-ange at levels tat may pose an unacceptable is to uman ealt o te envionment. In conducting te Pase I Assessment, MO souces, potential off-ange migation patways, and potential off-ange uman and ecological eceptos ae evaluated as appopiate. Raytown TS is located in Jacson ounty, Missoui; it lies witin Kansas ity (10 miles souteast of downtown) and is appoximately 70 miles east of Topea, Kansas. Te site is nea Raytown, wi is an incopoated city suounded by Kansas ity. Te site s addess is East 87 t Stt (o Militay lub Road), Kansas ity, Missoui. Te land is close to Higway 350 and Intestate 470. Te Missoui Amy National Guad (MOARNG) as used te site since uently, te installation suppots a moto pool tat is used fo veicle maintenance; occasionally, te site is used fo wend bivouac execises (MOARNG Automotive Sevice and Maintenance Repaiman, pes. comm.). As pat of te Opeational Range Inventoy Sustainment, an update to te Amy Range Inventoy Database-Geodatabase (ARID-GEO) was submitted to te.s. Amy Envionmental ommand in Octobe Te ARID-GEO (2006) identified one ligt taining and maneuve aea encompassing te entie installation aea of aces. Histoically, a.22-calibe ange and a.30-calibe ange existed witin te popety now identified as taining and maneuve aea. Te.22-calibe ange was used fom appoximately 1927 to 1941, and te.30-calibe ange was used fom appoximately 1927 to te mid-1960s. Evidence of pojectiles is still pesent at te impact aea of te.30-calibe istoical ange (SAHPPM, 2004). Potential MO associated wit small calibe munitions types istoically used at Raytown TS ae metals, including lead, antimony, coppe, and zinc. Nitoglyceine (NG) is not consideed a potential MO at Raytown because tee as bn sufficient time fo degadation of any deposited NG since small ams wee fied.
