2 The mission of the Maritime Affairs Unit..The unit focuses on novel methods and integration of different information sources for maritime surveillance, on assessment and forecasting for fisheries, and provides harmonized safety accident reporting tools for maritime, air and rail traffic, Container monitoring, transport safety, monitoring fisheries Fisheries monitoring and forecasting and aquaculture Maritime services, transport safety, search and rescue operations

5 Habitat modeling We used multiple datasets from standard monitoring surveys, held at local level, that we integrated into habitat suitability modeling Nursery areas and spawning areas Environmental conditions: Satellite data Statistical model : GAMs Suitable habitat maps at a larger spatial scale SST in o C o 40 o 39 o + 38 o 22 o 23 o 24 o 25 o 26 o 27 o 5
