4 The Framework ASEAN Initiative on Environmentally Sustainable Cities (AIESC) 2003/05 ASEAN Working Group on Environmentally Sustainable Cities (AWGESC) (clean water, clean soil, clean air) ASEAN Secretariat requested the project from German Government in 2006 The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) commissioned GTZ (now GIZ) to execute the project in 2008

10 Clean Air for Smaller Cities (CASC) ( 2.5 mil) Hosted by the Pollution Control Department (PCD), Thailand

11 Objective Small and medium-sized cities are increasingly able to develop and implement measures to improve the air quality. Indicators At least 11 cities (150, million inhabitants) have a Clean Air Plan (CAP) At least 7 cities are implementing CAPs. Project Period January 2009 December 2015
