They are enforced and regulated by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB). 7 Natural Gas energy efficiency programs Capital Investments Provide technical support and financial rebates to help businesses, institutions, industrial and agricultural facilities become more energy efficient, through: Fixed Incentives Prescribed rebates for the purchase and installation of specific energy efficient measures. Incentives for over twenty efficient water heating, space heating or food services measures available. Custom Solutions Incentives calculated based on estimated annual gas savings. Incentives can cover up to 50% of project costs to a maximum of $100,000 per project 7

9 9 Commercial Custom Retrofit Program Applicable Incentives Incentives are available for energy efficiency projects that yield natural gas savings. Tiered incentive structure whereby incentives are paid out based on $/m 3 saved and % of total natural gas savings. Incentives will cover up to 50% of the project cost to a maximum of $100,000/project. Incentives paid to customers upon proof of purchase and installation. Savings calculators available at
10 Commercial Custom Program Custom case study: Multi-residential building Make-up air (MUA) unit replacement Higher efficiency, lower cost Replaced MUA unit with a condensing MUA unit with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). Resulted in a 21% reduction in customer s total annual natural gas consumption. Project cost $23,000 Incentive $7,922 Gas savings Gas cost savings Simple payback 49,198 m 3 /year $12,299/year 1.1 years CO 2 reduction 93.3 tonnes 10
11 Commercial Custom Campaigns Up To Triple the Incentive Amount on Commercial Custom Projects Parameters: 11 Projects must be completed by September 30 th 2018 for Controls Projects, and by October 31 st for Boiler Retrofits. Customers must book their projects with an ESC by August 31st, 2018 to qualify. Capped at 50% of project cost to a maximum of $100,000/project Upgrade to a high-efficiency boiler (85% to 89% efficiency) and earn 2x our regular incentive Upgrade to a condensing boiler (90% efficiency or more) and earn 3x our regular incentive

13 Natural gas energy efficiency programs Operational improvements RunitRight Help customers identify and implement low or no cost operational improvements that will save energy and money. Fine Tune Building Operation to Peak Performance Participants have experienced as much as 5% in energy savings for little to no upfront cost. Involves 3 steps: Register Fund a site audit Implement Incentives for implementing recommendations. Monitor Track results of implemented measures. 13
14 RunitRight Applicable Incentives Incentives help customers pay up to 100% of the investigation, implementation and monitoring costs associated with the program. Up to $1,000 towards facility investigation Up to $8,000 towards implementation of recommended efficiency measures $1,000 towards a third party EMIS, or a FREE EMIS provided by Enbridge Gas Distribution $250 Efficiency Partner incentive for each customer who completes all three steps of the program ***This week, we launched a new campaign increasing the SPIFF to $500 for our Efficiency Partners only, to convert existing applicants and successfully take new applicants through to becoming participants. 14 Contact us if you are interested in becoming a RunitRight Efficiency Partner
