It also offers optometry services (eye examinations) and audiology. This is a Small and Medium sized enterprise. It emerged in 1970, in a space of its own in the city of Bragança (Portugal), by Manuel dos Santos, who had founded the Relojoaria Confiança in June In August 1995, already having the 3rd generation of the family, opens the Ótica Oscar. In July 2011 Optica Transmontana opens in Vinhais. In December 2011, the Optica Transmontana is reopened in Miranda do Douro and in November 2013 opens in Mogadouro. In March 2015, the opening of a new Optica Transmontana in Torre de Moncorvo is observed and in May 2015 the APCER's Quality Management System for Optica Transmontana is obtained. In November of 2015 opens another store of Optica Transmontana in Vila Flor and in the same month opens the new Optica Transmontana in Chaves. In May 2016, opens in Macedo de Cavaleiros another store of the Optica Transmontana and in March 2017 in Valpaços. The VISION of Optica Transmontana is to be recognized as a benchmark in ocular health care and admired for the trust and proximity it establishes with clients. Its MISSION aims to promote eye health care with a standard of excellence and humanization, contemplating different conditions for the provision of the service and aiming to provide the best customer service. Its values are based on the following pillars: market orientation; ethics and integrity; culture of exigency and rigor; knowledge and social responsibility. The company's strategy is based on differentiation, seeking to have at its disposal the best products on the market, the best human resources and the most sophisticated equipment. 2 The concern with the quality of life and well-being of employees is a constant. The good social practices implemented by Optica Transmontana translate into the attribution of productivity premiums to all employees and health insurance. Thematic area of CSR: Local Development Concrete issue causing social concern: Optica Transmontana is located in the interior of Portugal that has a aging population and some have not ready and easy access to health care services, namely in the hearing and visual problems. The social responsibility policy of Optica Transmontana is based on the following areas of action: - Free or reduced-price distribution of eyeglasses to low-income households; - Support to needy families through the distribution of food; - Promotion of cultural / leisure activities for institutionalized children; - Mobile unit - LARANJINHA: This unit offers, free of charge, visual, auditory and clinical tests (cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose and blood pressure measurement). The Optica Transmontana has collaboration with the following social entities of the district of Bragança: Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vinhais Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa Delegação Bragança Fundação Betânia Centro Apostólico de Acolhimento e Formação Obra Kopling da Diocese de Bragança Miranda Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa Delegação Miranda do Douro Centro Social e Paroquial dos Santos Mártires ASCUDT- Associação Sócio-Cultural dos Deficientes de Trás-os-Montes, IPSS. 3 Stakeholders (beneficiaries of CSR activities): Communities Solution applied: A mobile unit - LARANJINHA (see Figure 1) offers, free of charge, visual, auditory and clinical tests (cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose and blood pressure measurement). Since 2014, LARANJINHA has been running all the municipalities where Optica Transmontana have stores (Bragança, Vinhais, Miranda do Douro and Mogadouro, Torre de Moncorvo, Vila Flor, Chaves, Macedo de Cavaleiros and Valpaços - see Figure 2). It aims to reach as many people as possible, according to the needs identified in the districts. In June 2016, the mobile unit "LARANJINHA" is the first in the country to receive APCER certification, in visual and hearing tracing, thus ensuring compliance with the requirements of the NP EN ISO 9001: 2008 standard. In addition to this certification by APCER, we remind you that this unit is also registered in the ERS - Health Regulatory Entity, number E In addition to its traditional activity to support the population (visual, auditory and clinical analysis), it supports the distribution of food products by the population in need of these counties, having carried out actions in Natal in 2016 and in July How did the solution benefit the stakeholders: The mobile unit Laranjinha, have been helping disadvantaged, aging and remote regions population with less-facilitated access to health services. Since 2014, Optica Transmontana supported several families. At the beginning of July 2017, "Laranjinha" crossed the roads of Trás-os-Montes but this time not to do their screening to the population, but to give you a little warmth, distributing food baskets in villages in the region. In total 34 families received this basket. Did the solution bring benefits to the company: Optica Transmontana practices social responsibility through all sorts of actions, aligning this practice with Promotional Marketing, strengthening the brand. Key success factors: Optica Transmontana have reached population and offers free services to improve well-being and health that otherwise would not be accessible to this remote and disadvantaged population, in the districts of Bragança and Vila Real.
