9 The Advanced Leadership Program is Created! The Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) recognized the need to develop a leadership talent program. DOR implemented a Succession Planning Program in In 2013 approximately 38% of DOR Managers and Supervisors were eligible to retire. The purpose of the Succession Planning Program was to develop employees who indicated high leadership potential. The Succession Planning Pilot Program concluded after 18 months. As a result, DOR created an Advanced Leadership Program. Georgia Department of Revenue 9
10 Participation in the Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) ALP is open to all DOR employees who express an interest and have demonstrated the potential to be a candidate for future leadership positions within the agency. The successful candidate: 1.Must be a current, regular employee. 2.Must have no formal disciplinary actions within the last 12 months. 3.Must have an overall 3.0 Successful Performer rating on the most recent review. 4.Must have a high school diploma or GED, Bachelor s degree is preferred. 21 Leadership Mentoring Program The Leadership Mentoring Program is designed to provide better career progression and developmental opportunities for our employees. Employees are paired with Senior Level Managers to help them along the way. Leadership Mentoring Program began in Pairs (86 Mentors & 86 Protégés) Anyone at any job level may participate Time allotted is not to exceed 2 hours per month during standard work hours.
22 Leadership Conference 1. This Annual 2 day offsite Conference includes 225 DOR Managers and Supervisors. 2. The Leadership Conference is designed to provide the Managers, Supervisors and Executive Leaders of DOR the opportunity to come together to interact with all of their colleagues. 3. The agenda includes: Spectacular Speakers Panel Discussions Break-out sessions Team building activities 4. Our first Leadership Conference was held in 2011

This program has been in place for 2 years and we employ between 4 to 6 students. Students currently work in our Taxpayer Services Division.
