Our distinct creative approach has influenced contemporary theatre-making and championed the use of movement directors and choreographers in new dramatic works. It has inspired writers to embrace new creative processes and opened up actors and dancers to new techniques. The accessibility of the Frantic method has empowered and inspired people to participate, collaborate and make thrilling work. In addition to our national and international touring productions, we are keen to explore the creative potential of digital work, building on the success of distributing our shows and methodology online, developing bespoke digital performances. We will also continue our strategy to make theatre more diverse, providing an alternative route into the industry among the least engaged. We will build on the success of Igniton, our national flagship programme of innovative vocational training, which over 9 years has seen approximately 60 of the programme graduates go on to work or further training in the arts. 4 ROLE OF TRUSTEES Trustees are responsible for overseeing the management, finances and governance of Frantic Assembly ensuring that that its activities are planned and carried out to meet its charitable objects. Principal responsibilities include: Contributing actively to the Board s responsibility to give strategic direction to the Company, through strategic and business planning, and by establishing a clear mission, values and objectives. Playing a full and active part in Board meetings, contributing knowledge, expertise and experience, supporting the Executive team but also challenging when appropriate. Keeping up to date with the company activities, ensuring that they are in line with the aims and objectives, and that they are for the public benefit. Keeping informed of, and understanding, the company s position, ensuring that charitable funds and assets are used wisely, and only to further the purposes and interests of the charity. Attending company productions and events, and where possible introducing other people to the company through those activities. Ensuring that the company complies with company and charity law and the requirements of the Charity Commission. Appointing the Artistic and Executive Directors and monitoring their performance, establishing clear delegation of operational and management arrangements as required. Becoming an ambassador for the company, promoting and championing our work, ambition, vision and objectives to stakeholders, and relevant organisations. Person Specification: A keen interest in the work of Frantic Assembly and a desire to help shape its future direction. Experience in developing organisational strategies and business plans. A keen interest in increasing access in the arts, both through participants and through audiences. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and give strategic and constructive support to staff. Commitment to the organisation and a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to the role of Trustee. Ability to exercise a balanced view, good judgement and respect Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship. Requirements: Attendance at at least 75% of Board meetings Uphold the Nolan 7 Principles of Public Life; Selflessness, Integrity, Objectivity, Accountability, Openess, Honesty, Leadership. Attendance at Frantic Assembly productions and events Provision of contacts to support advice or funding needs of the organisation Network on behalf of Frantic Assembly throughout the year Board members are encouraged to make a donation to the company at a level appropriate to their resources Board Trustee Job Description

5 HOW TO APPLY Please note this is a volunteer role. Trustee meetings take place four times a year in central London. The Company are keen to increase the diversity of its Trustees and to recruit people who are currently underrepresented especially people from a BAME background. We are also keen to recruit candidates with a national and regional perspective and will support travel expenses from outside London, where this is the case.
