Step 1: Register & Gather Your Items So you want to sell with JBF? Great, all you need to do is register on the JBF site to obtain a Consignor #. Returning consignors simply need to confirm their participation. Start with one of our 3 area location sites: westernmainline.jbfsale.com reading.jbfsale.com lancaster.jbfsale.com In the upper right hand corner of the page, sign up as a new user or log in if you have previously registered. Next, pick your sale location and sign up. If you want to earn more on your sold items, check the Team Member box to be taken to the online schedule. ** Please note: The Team Member sign-up may not be available immediately. Please be sure to check back! Page 2
Step 1: Register & Gather Your Items At JBF, you control how much you make because you set your own prices. If you are just interested in dropping your items off the week of the sale, you will earn 60% less an $11 consignor fee. Consignors who also work at least one 4 hour shift during the event, earn 70% less the same $11 fee, plus earn an earlier presale shopping pass. To get started, you will need to do two things. First, gather your supplies (see page 4) and then you will need all of your STUFF! Since our sales take place twice a year, each event features seasonally appropriate clothing. Think colder weather for the Fall/Winter sales and warmer weather clothing for the Spring/Summer sales. We ve created the guide below to help you know what s in and what s out! Fall Guidelines Long sleeves; fleece/corduroy; long pants/jeans; warm/footed jammies; winter coats/snow pants; hoodies with no drawstring around the neck. Short-sleeved onesies, graphic t s over size 10, polo shirts for all sizes are acceptable. Fall sport s teams OK in short sleeves. Short sleeved tops and t-shirts over 24 months; tank tops; shorts; light weight long pants; light-weight capris; summer dresses; light weight jammies; swimsuits; obvious spring/summer clothing. Sneakers, dress shoes, crib shoes, etc. are also acceptable. Dirty shoes with excessive wear and tear. Summer shoes including sandals, open toed and water shoes. No high heels or shoes geared towards adults. Over size 7 big kid/adult are not accepted. Up to 10 name brand maternity items for ALL SEASONS. Up to 10 name brand items for junior girls (i.e. Abercrombie, Hollister and American Eagle) for fall/winter. Juniors are sizes 0, 1, 3 & 5. Out of date fashions, non-name brand, or adult clothing (large and XL are not considered maternity). More than 10 items each of maternity and juniors per consignor (each hanger counts as one item). Halloween costumes and accessories, Christmas, or Valentine s Day themed outfits. Sports Teams that play in the fall & winter months are okay. Dance leotards are accepted. Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, or other off-season holiday themed outfits. Battery operated toys, puzzles, electronic games, DVDs and outdoor winter sports. 4 Step 2: Time to Get Tagging Tagging Your Merchandise General Tagging Guidelines: All items must be tagged using our online tagging system. To log into your tagging account, simply go to your JBF Profile, log in and click, Enter My Tags. Tech Tip The system is viewed best in Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer. Please avoid using Chrome to print tags. Entering Your Tags CATEGORY Choose a category that make sense to you; choose miscellaneous or leave blank if needed. ITEM DESCRIPTION Include detailed descriptions on tags. Always start with the brand name and include the color if applicable. For example Gymboree Red Flowered Shirt with Matching Blue Pants. The better the description the more likely we can match a lost tag to your item and get it back onto the sales floor. REDUCE Check this box if you want the item sold at 50% off on the last day of the sale; we recommend choosing reduce. DONATE Check this box to donate an item that does not sell to our JBF Charity Partner; rest assured, your item will go to local area families in need. QUANTITY This option allows you to quickly produce tags if you have more than one of the exact same item (same color, size, and brand). Time Saving Tips Update your My Profile to default to donate or reduce on all tags. If you sort your items by gender, size, and category before entering tags, you can use the Rapid Entry for quicker entry. Printing Tags: If printing with a laser printer be sure to select heavy paper or the ink may smear and the tag may scan improperly. Tags must be printed on white card stock (60lb+). Paper tags will be rejected. Save paper and ink by printing tags via the PDF option (prints 6 tags per page). Be sure that your printer setting is set for landscape, if you do not change this the tags will print smaller than allowed. Printed tags should cover the entire 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Tagging Supplies 4 White Card Stock 60lb /2 & 2 safety pins 4 Child size plastic or wire hangers for sizes newborn-5 4 Full size plastic or wire hangers for sizes 6 & up 4 Gallon & quart clear Ziploc bags 4 XL Ziploc/Storage bags (find at dollar store!) 4 Clear packaging tape 4 Painters masking tape 4 Scissors 4 Ribbon, string or zip-ties 4 Access to a computer/ tablet & printer Optional Supplies 4 Tagging gun & barbs 4 Paper Cutter 4 Magic Eraser (for cleaning toys & shoes) 4 Stain remover or bleach pen 4 Wrinkle releaser or odor remover Page 4
Step 3: Prepping & Pricing Your Items Prepping Clothing: General Clothing Guidelines: Clothing must be look (and smell) good! Snaps, buttons, and zippers need to be snapped, buttoned or zipped. We are unable to accept items that are overly worn, stained or out of current fashion. Hanging Clothing: Hangers should form a? with the opening pointing to the left when looking at the item. Tags must be located to the upper right shoulder area of a shirt or upper right front hip of pants. If using a tagging gun, place needle through seams or the inside tag on clothes, avoid making a hole on the clothing item. Safety pin the heavier item of a set to the hanger, then the lighter item to the heavier item. This will prevent stretching the material of the clothes. Pin the pants to the TOP ANGLED PART of the hanger, not the bottom straight edge. Use LARGE safety pins to attach pants. Strappy items such as swimsuits, sleeveless tops and dresses should be pinned to the hanger. Time Saving Tip Up to 5 onesies can be placed in a Ziploc bag. Infant sleepers under 24 months may also be bagged. Page 5
Step 3: Prepping & Pricing Your Items Prepping Shoes, Toys, Books, Games and Accessories General Guidelines: All items must be clean and complete! No missing pieces, dirty toys or items without working batteries please. Smaller pieces should be bagged and taped or zip tied to the larger part of the toy. Group sets in a Ziploc bag and use packaging tape to seal bag shut. Tags should be placed on the outside of any Ziploc bag. Refrain from placing excessive amounts of tape over the barcode as this interferes with scanning. Preparing Shoes: Use a zip tie, yarn or string to attach shoes together securely. Toys: Smaller pieces should be bagged and taped or zip tied to the larger part of the toy. Group sets in a Ziploc bag. Multiple Piece Toys: Make a tag on each piece. The first tag will be the standard barcode tag with all of the necessary information. Write 1 of X, (X is the number of pieces) directly below the printed barcode. For all additional pieces, use card stock to write your consignor number, item # and 2 of X, 3 of X etc. on subsequent pieces. Put the barcode & price on the first tag ONLY. Please do not put the price on any other tags. Books, DVDs, Puzzles & Games: Use scotch or blue painter s tape to secure the tag to books, puzzles and games to avoid damaging the item with heavy packaging tape. Use saran or press n seal wrap to group or secure books, puzzles, and games. Accessories: Place hair accessories in a Ziploc bag. Use an index card to display hair barrettes. Lay socks or tights flat in Ziploc bags. Sets sell best for socks and tights. Roll belts and tie with string. Hats can be tagged using safety pins or a tagging gun. Page 6
Step 3: Prepping & Pricing Your Items The Price MUST be Right! Shoppers come to JBF expecting the best quality items as well as the opportunity to get the most bang for their buck. Your stuff is competing with thousands of similar items and brands. To sell, you must price smart! General Pricing Guidelines: Use only 50 increments. Items cannot be priced $2.99, etc. Sets sell better! Group a set of 3 shirts, of the same brand and size, together for $5 vs. $2 each. Let it Go! If you chose to reduce your item no star will be printed on the tag. During our half price portion of the sale, this item will be available for sale at half of your set price. Be selective on what you do not reduce. Items with no stars tend to sell better throughout the entire sale, even full price days. If you are going to donate your items, please select them to reduce. Keys to Success: Check out our website for the comprehensive pricing guidelines. General rule of thumb is price item 1/4 to 1/3 of the original price. If you find that many of your items did not sell, often times, the price was not right! Page 7

Quick Pricing Guide Pricing can be tricky. Here are some tips to keep in mind. PRICE TO SELL! What s better than cleaning out your $ closet and making money at the same time! EXAMINE EACH ITEM Act as if you were planning to buy it for your child, what would? you pay? SELL CLOTHES IN SETS Match the same brand and size t-shirt and shorts or a top with a skirt! This will increase the value. REDUCE, REDUCE! When planning to donate an item, reduce to half 1 price. We would rather /2 you get something than nothing at all! Bargain Brands $1- $4 Everyday Brands $3- $6 Premium Brands $4- $10 Sell Toys, Baby Equipment, Books, Games and Furniture at 30% of retail value CHARGE MORE FOR: NWT (New with Tags) Dressy Items Excellent Condition Items in Original Packaging Large Items Hot Toys CHARGE LESS FOR: T-Shirts Play Clothes Infant Items Maternity Clothing Junior Clothing Page 9
Step 4: Get Ready For Drop Off You ve done the work, now it s time to clear that clutter and ca$h in! Drop your items off during the designated day and time. When you arrive: 1. Check in at the desk with your completed Consignor Waiver and one item which has a bar code. You will be given a rolling rack to bring your items into the building. 2. Your clothing and shoes will be inspected. Once this is complete, you are responsible for placing all of your accepted clothing items on to the sales floor. JBF Team Members will place your shoes on to the floor. 3. Items that have a polyester fill or insert such as exersaucers, strollers, boppy pillows, infant carriers, furniture with cushions, activity mats and the like, must be sanitized. If you have any of these items, please proceed to the Sanitation Station. 4. All consignors are given a Presale Pass to SHOP EARLY! Please make sure you pick up your passes before exiting the building. Inspection Insider Info The busiest times are the first and last hours of consignor drop off. Plan a minimum of one hour for drop off. Save yourself tons of steps by organizing your clothing by SIZE and GENDER at home. You can rubberband like items together. Put similar loose items in cardboard boxes or plastic totes (i.e. keep all books together, infant toys together, etc.) Children are welcome to drop off however for their safety, please make sure they remain with you at all times and do not play with the toys. What happens with items that do not sell? Donate or Pick up. You have the choice to donate your unsold items to one of our local charity partners or pick up at the conclusion of the sale. Consignors who donate their unsold items will receive a tax receipt enclosed with their check. All items are sorted by consignor # making pick up an easy and efficient process. Pick up will take 30 minutes or less. Please bring plastic totes or boxes to transport your items home. Items not picked up, regardless of how the tag is marked, will be donated. Show me the Money! Consignor checks are mailed within two weeks of the conclusion of each event. Page 10
