1 Dear Valued Supplier: Tenneco is a participant in the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT). In the US, C-TPAT is a voluntary joint government-business initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen the overall supply chain and border security. Every person who is involved in logistics, distribution or supply chain management will be impacted by ongoing efforts to create a more secure global trading system. Tenneco has made a firm commitment to enhance and communicate the importance of security processes to our suppliers and demonstrate that all aspects of this process are under control throughout the supply chain. As a C-TPAT participant, Tenneco must assess, improve, and communicate more comprehensive safety procedures for cargo security domestically in the United States and abroad. Customs and Border Protection requires a complete self-assessment that encompasses procedural security, physical security, personnel security, education and awareness training, access control, manifest and conveyance security issues. One of the procedures requires Tenneco to obtain information concerning the security procedures utilized by parties in our supply chain (U.S. and abroad). As one of our partners in the supply chain, log on to the Tenneco portal with your companies ID and password and download or print he C-TPAT questionnaire. Please complete the questionnaire to the best of your ability and return it to Tenneco within 14 days. All documentation should be sent to or faxed to If your organization has already received C-TPAT certification or certification in another Mutually Recognized Government program, please return to the Tenneco portal ( and enter your verification numbers. If you should have any questions, please contact me at Regards, Patrick M. Phalen Director, North American Logistics and Compliance 500 N. Field Dr. Lake Forest, IL 60045
