3 We are the leading coal terminal service provider in the Ohio River Valley Basin. We bring more than 30 years of receiving, storage, custom blending and transload experience to producers and consumers of thermal and metallurgical coal. Our assets, along with our unique access to both Norfolk Southern and CSX rail networks, offer unsurpassed flexibility and efficiency in receiving and delivering coal by river barge, truck and rail. With 30 million tons of annual processing capacity, we can blend multiple grades to meet specific customer requirements, delivering consistent, reliable quality at the lowest possible cost. We are certified for quality (ISO 9001), workplace safety (OHSAS 18001) and environmental management (ISO 14001). Proven quality, efficiency, flexibility and reliability in coal handling, at the right price. Whether you re a producer or consumer, metallurgical or thermal coal, all of this adds up to value. 1
4 Who we are We are SunCoke Energy Partners (SunCoke), majority owned by SunCoke Energy, the largest independent provider of coke to the integrated steel industry in North America. With the 2013 acquisition of Kanawha River Terminals (KRT), SunCoke has joined its considerable resources and more than 50 years of supply chain expertise with KRT s three decades of coal processing leadership to offer real value to producers and consumers of thermal and metallurgical coal. In the metallurgical coal market, we offer a higher-quality, more consistent alternative to barge-ocean vessel providers that often lack the storage capacity or blend consistency that customers require. We have state-of-art capabilities to provide precise blends ranging from low-volatile, medium-volatile and high-volatile coking coals, providing reliable supply that consistently meets the most exacting specifications. In the thermal coal market, our presence in the heart of central Appalachia and the Ohio River Basin ideally positions us to be a valued provider both to coal producers and the power plants they serve. Our blending technology and expertise can be major value drivers for coal-burning power plants looking for new solutions to address increasingly stringent environmental regulations and competitive electricity markets. For producers of coal for export, our highcapacity terminals offer maximum flexibility for barge, truck and rail receiving and transloading, and our connections to both the Norfolk Southern and CSX rail networks provide direct and efficient access to key ports on the East Coast, Gulf Coast and Great Lakes. 2
5 What we do We offer a complete array of services and 30 million tons of annual processing capacity to ensure an efficient, reliable and costeffective supply of coal at consistent quality levels, serving both producers and users. Receiving Our terminals are located on the Ohio, Kanawha and Big Sandy Rivers and are designed for high-throughput offloading of coal from barges, trucks or rail cars. Storage We have a combined 1.3 million tons of annual ground storage capacity at our terminals, providing maximum supply chain flexibility for customers. Blending We offer state-of-the-art blending capabilities with the ability to handle all coal types. Our unique system of dumps and feeders provides the precision, flexibility and consistency needed to reliably meet the most exacting customer requirements. Transloading We have transload capabilities at all locations to support optimum transportation efficiency and cost effectiveness. We can offload from barge or rail, store the coal, blend it to customer specifications, and reload on barge, truck or rail for shipment to the desired destination. Our award-winning dock locations can receive coal via CSX or Norfolk Southern rail networks, enabling us to serve customers bringing in Illinois Basin, central Appalachian, northern Appalachian and Powder River Basin coal. 3
