BACKGROUND EFFECTS OF E-COMMERCE
BACKGROUND E-COMMERCE GROWTH IT S WELL KNOWN THAT CHINA IS THE LARGEST E-COMMERCE MARKET IN THE WORLD, BUT YOU MIGHT NOT REALIZE THE HUGE UNTAPPED OPPORTUNITY IT REP- RESENTS FOR FOREIGN MANUFACTURERS AND RETAILERS. ONLINE SALES CURRENTLY CONTRIBUTE JUST 11% OF TOTAL RETAIL SALES IN CHINA (U.S. AT 8%), BUT IT S GROW- ING AT A RATE OF 53% YEAR-OVER-YEAR. THE SHEER SIZE OF THE OPPORTUNITY IS MIND-BOGGLING: THERE ARE 380 MILLION ONLINE SHOPPERS TODAY IN CHINA, AND IT S PREDICTED THAT OVER 50% OF CHINA S CONSUMPTION WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLINE WITHIN 10 YEARS. IN ADDITION, AN INCREASE IN MID- TO HIGH-INCOME ONLINE SHOPPERS HAS DRIVEN AN OVERSEAS ONLINE PURCHASING CRAZE IN CHINA. CHINA E-COMMERCE MARKET TO HIT $1.1T BY 2020.
BACKGROUND DELIVERED PACKAGES CHINA EXPRESS ASSOCIATION RECENTLY ANNOUNCED THAT THE NUMBER OF LOGISTIC DELIVERY PACKAGES REACHED 20.6 BILLION WITH AN INCREASE OF 48% YOY IN THE PEAK DAILY PROCESSED PACKAGES REACHED 160 MILLION. CHINA S EXPRESS DELIVERY INDUSTRY DEVELOPED RAPIDLY WITH AN ANNUAL GROWTH RATE OF 54.6% IN 2015.
BACKGROUND DELIVERY WASTAGE IN 2015, 2.96 BILLION WOVEN BAGS, 8.26 BILLION PLASTIC BAGS, 9.9 BILLION CARTONS, BILLION METERS OF TAPES AND 2.97 BILLION BUFFERS OR BUBBLE WRAPS WERE USED IN EXPRESS DELIVERY BUSINESS, WHICH MOVED 20.6 BILLION PACKAGES. CHINA S E-COMMERCE GIANT ALIBABA IS PLANNING TO LAUNCH A GREEN LOGISTICS, INCLUDING GREEN EXPRESS BOXES, TO DEAL WITH WASTE AND POLLUTION CAUSED BY PACKAGE MATERIALS AND TRANSPORTATION IN EXPRESS DELIVERY BUSINESS.
BACKGROUND IN CASE YOU DIDN T SEE THAT IN 2015, 9.9 BILLION CARTONS AND BILLION METERS OF TAPES WERE USED IN EXPRESS DELIVERY BUSINESS.
GREAT TRIUMPHS
GREAT TRIUMPHS RETURNABLE GLASS BOTTLES EARLY GLASS BOTTLES WERE OFTEN REUSED: MILK, WATER, BEER, SOFT DRINKS,YO- GHURT ETC. THE REUSE OF CONTAINERS IS OFTEN THOUGHT OF AS BEING A STEP TOWARD MORE SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING. REUSE SITS HIGH ON THE WASTE HIERARCHY. THE CON- TAINER IS USED MANY TIMES THUS THE MATERIAL PER USE OR PER FILLING CYCLE IS REDUCED. 174,292 TONNES OF WASTE AVOIDED GREENHOUSE GASES, EQUIVALENT TO TAKING 33,325 CARS OFF THE ROAD. ENERGY SAVINGS OF 2.9 MILLION GIGAJOULES, EQUIVALENT TO 477,453 BARRELS OF OIL WITH A COST OF $36 MILLION.
GREAT TRIUMPHS HOW REUSABLE BOTTLES WORK REUSABLE BOTTLE PROGRAMS IN SOME WESTERN COUNTRIES FOUND SUCCESS VIA DEPOSIT AND REFUND METHODS FILLED BOTTLES FILLED BOTTLES DEPOSIT DEPOSIT DISTRIBUTORS RETAILERS CONSUMERS EMPTY BOTTLES EMPTY BOTTLES REFUND REFUND
GREAT TRIUMPHS REUSABLE SHOPPING BAGS PLASTIC BAGS TAKE ANYWHERE FROM 15 TO 1000 YEARS TO DECOMPOSE. ONLY 1 PERCENT OF PLASTIC BAGS ARE RECYCLED IN THE UNITED STATES. THE REST END UP IN LANDFILLS, THE OCEAN, OR SOME OTHER PLACE IN THE ENVIRONMENT. THERE S ACTUALLY A GIANT GARBAGE HEAP MADE MOSTLY OF PLASTIC FLOATING IN THE OCEAN THAT S TWICE THE SIZE OF THE UNITED STATES. IT S ESTIMATED THAT 1 MILLION BIRDS AND THOUSANDS OF TURTLES AND OTHER SEA ANIMALS DIE EACH YEAR AFTER INGESTING DISCARDED PLASTIC BAGS. MORE THAN 10 PERCENT OF WASHED-UP DEBRIS POLLUTING THE U.S. COASTLINE IS MADE UP OF PLASTIC BAGS. IT TAKES 12 MILLION BARRELS OF OIL TO PRODUCE THE ESTIMATED 100 BILLION PLASTIC BAGS AMERICANS USE EACH YEAR. THE PETROLEUM USED TO PRODUCE 14 PLASTIC BAGS CAN DRIVE A CAR ONE MILE.
ANOTHER GREAT TRIUMPH IN THE MAKING
ANOTHER GREAT TRIUMPH REUSABLE EXPRESS BOX
ANOTHER GREAT TRIUMPH 2 PIECE ASSEMBLY FOR EASE OF MANUFACTURING AND ASSEMBLY FOR MASS PRODUCTION, THE REUSEABLE EXPRESS BOX IS MADE OF ONLY 2 PIECES. MADE FROM 10mm THICK PLYWOOD THAT CAN BE CNC MACHINE OR LASER CUT FROM STANDARD SHEETS OF MATERIAL.
ANOTHER GREAT TRIUMPH FLEXIBILITY
ANOTHER GREAT TRIUMPH SCANBILITY BY CREATING A UNIQUE QR CODE TIME IS SAVED IN HAND WRITING SEND- ERS AND RECEIVERS INFORMATION. IN ADDITION, EXPRESS COMPANIES ARE INCENTIVISED TO LET THE CUS- TOMER SCAN THE QR CODE UPON DELIVERY AND REMOVE THE CONTENTS DIRECTLY FOR THE CUSTOMER IN ORDER TO IMMEDIATELY RETURN THE BOX FOR REBATE WITH THE SELLER. EACH BOX FOR EACH DELIVERY HAS ITS OWN QR CODE AND THE TRACK- ING AND REFUND SYSTEM OF EACH BOX IS CONTROLLED ELECTRONICAL- LY.
ANOTHER GREAT TRIUMPH HOW IT WORKS PACKAGED GOOD PACKAGED GOOD DEPOSIT DEPOSIT SELLERS COURIERS CONSUMERS EMPTY PACKAGE EMPTY PACKAGE REFUND REFUND
ANOTHER GREAT TRIUMPH STACKABILITY THE REUSABLE EXPRESS BOX CAN BE STACKED ATOP OF EACH IN ORDER TO CREATE THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF EFFIENCY IN DELIVERY VOLUME. BY HAVING A CLEAN ORDERLY STACK OF BOXES, THE EXPRESS COMPANY WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO REDUCE TRANSIT DAMAGE.
ANOTHER GREAT TRIUMPH DELIVERY VOLUME COMPARISON DUE TO THE STACKABILITY OF THE REUSABLE EXPRESS BOX, ELECTRONIC BIKES, WHICH IS THE MAIN METHOD OF EXPRESS DELIVERIES IN CHINA, CAN IN- CREASE THE VOLUME OF PACKAGES THEY CAN DELIVER ON EACH TRIP BY AN ESTIMATED 2.5 TO 3 TIMES. BEFORE AFTER
ANOTHER GREAT TRIUMPH FOLDABILITY BY MAKING THE REUSABLE EXPRESS BOX FOLDABLE, EXPRESS COMPA- NIES CAN MORE EASILY TRANSPORT A LARGE VOLUME OF BOXES THAT ARE BEING RETURN DIRECTLY AFTER A CUSTOMER TRANSACTION OR UPON CUSTOMER RETURN OF PREVIOUSLY DEPOSITED BOXES.
ANOTHER GREAT TRIUMPH DELIVERY WASTAGE COMPARISON REDUCING USE OF CARDBOARD THAT IS MARGINALLY RECYCLED, USE OF TAPE AND USE OF PAPER SHIPPING SLIPS THE REUSABLE EXPRESS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCES WASTE THEREFOR REDUCING ENERGY WASTAGE AND CARBON EMISSIONS. NOW AFTER
