2 Irgacure on-ionic and Ionic BA develops innovative photoacid compounds for use in UV and near-uv photocuring, photoresists, and photoreactive coatings. Applications are found in the manufacture of protective coatings, smart cards, 3D rapid prototyping, sacrificial coatings, UV adhesives, semiconductor devices, galvano- and plating masks, ion implantation masks, etch resists, anti-reflective coatings, holograms, etc. The novel photoacid generators listed below were developed for use in cationic acid catalyzed UV systems and positive and negative tone chemically amplified photoresists. They are activated by exposure under UV lamps, including g-, h-, and i-line (Hg) lamps; deep UV (Ar, Kr) excimer and other UV laser sources, and UV and near- UV LEDs, and e-beams.
