The Centre Manager and Director of Studies (CM-DoS) is responsible for the management of all centre educational and student services staff, maintaining an industry-leading teaching and learning environment. With ELICOS senior management, the CM-DoS also leads effective relationship management with a range of Charles Darwin University stakeholders. Selection Criteria Essential First degree, or equivalent University of Cambridge Delta, or equivalent 5 years' relevant ELT experience, with at least 2 in ELT management Strong management and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to recruit, engage & motivate high-quality teaching and student services staff Dynamic, talented educator, able to direct effective professional development activity Detailed understanding of international higher education pathways and ESOS regulatory framework Demonstrated successful relationship management with internal and external stakeholders Excellent standards of written and spoken communication, analytic and presentation skills Commitment to the market position, reputation and performance of Navitas Strong MS Office and student management system skills Desirable Other postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position Learning Management System and other e-learning experience What we offer An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate. Accountabilities The success of the ELICOS centre, through the leadership and management of educational delivery, administration and student services: to an industry-leading standard of quality as evidenced in surveys of student satisfaction in accordance with the requirements of the regulatory environment within agreed KPI and financial parameters. The Centre Manager and Director of Studies (CM-DoS) has direct line responsibility for the performance of all centre educational, administrative and student services staff. Academic leadership and management Oversees the highest standard of ELICOS educational services delivery by: planning and coordinating all aspects of centre educational services, including teaching and course delivery delegating and overseeing the management of resources and materials, maintenance of selfaccess facilities, and teachers' non-teaching tasks overseeing effective intake, class formation & placement, assessment, and certification processes ensuring centre teachers receive appropriate and relevant leadership, direction and support on course curricula, materials and teaching practice actively monitoring teaching standards evaluating the progress and outcomes of centre course provision
maintaining agreed quality standards in educational services provision troubleshooting issues arising in student and agent complaints participating in organisational forums on educational, marketing and financial issues, including in national Centre Operations meetings, in order to facilitate continuous improvement of educational and other services, and to promote the competitive market position and profitability of Navitas English successfully completing projects using agreed project management frameworks taking accountability for additional ongoing managerial responsibilities across ELICOS as may be agreed with senior management from time to time. B. Recruitment and development Contributes to the highest standard of teacher professionalism and performance by: the recruitment of high quality centre teaching and educational staff ensuring that teaching staff are effectively inducted, trained, supported and afforded equal employment opportunity leading a comprehensive professional development program for educational staff, to organisational specifications and standards, including performance and peer observation programs, bi-monthly in-service training seminars, staff meetings and access to external training managing the work performance of centre teaching and educational staff modelling high standards of work performance C. Student services delivery Ensures effective student services delivery by: overseeing centre administration including the direct line management of centre student services staff with nominated senior managers, maintaining organisational procedures and systems monitoring and responds to urgent calls made to national toll-free numbers out-of-hours as per ELICOS policy and procedure, on an agreed basis. with Shared Services units, managing centre operations within financial parameters and delegations, including salaries, resources & subscriptions, minor assets, repairs and maintenance, and CAPEX providing timely and accurate information and reports to the Principal and other senior management ensuring effective organisational communication with and information distribution to staff and students preparing succession plans annually and on demand fully briefing ongoing and acting successors to this position and to any role reporting to this position
D. Industry liaison Contributes to the professional standing of Navitas as a centre of excellence by: developing and maintaining effective relationships, alliances and networks - both within and external to the organisation - related to the provision of centre services liaising with and actively promoting Navitas courses, services and expertise in relevant professional forums and to appropriate organisations and clients day-to-day liaison and communication with students, clients, and other stakeholders through a range of authorised communication channels, including official social media sites, in accordance with company policy E. Compliance Contributes to the maintenance of client privacy by: ensuring privacy regulations are understood and implemented ensuring client records and personal information are stored securely according to Navitas English privacy policies cooperating with other Navitas staff and external agencies in a way which ensures Navitas complies with privacy regulations Contributes to the maintenance of a safe working environment, by: maintaining local workplaces that are safe and without risk to health ensuring relevant occupational health and safety regulations are complied with at local workplaces overseeing the provision of information, training and supervision necessary to ensure the health and safety of employees at the local workplace
