JOB TITLE REPORTING TO LOCATION SALARY FUNDRAISING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER CHIEF EXECUTIVE STRATFORD up to 38k per annum MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The post holder will work to shape and deliver the fundraising and development plan for the charity ensuring it achieves its operational and financial targets. The post holder will have a strong communications brief; coordinate the various campaigns, events, functions, processes and relationships to deliver the fundraising strategy. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Strategy To coordinate and deliver a fundraising and development plan for the charity - ensuring it meets the expectations of the Executive and Board of Trustees. Actively contribute to the fundraising strategy and to day-to-day operational planning ensuring that fundraising and development is an integral part of the overall plans for the charity. 2. Fundraising and development Coordinate the Patrons Scheme, ensuring that targets are met and that benefits and an aftercare package are successfully delivered. Work with the charity team to ensure the delivery of at least three exclusive events annually for Patrons. Ensure that the major assets provided by our Founding Members are nurtured and protected and that the value of them is maximised annually through careful stewardship. Coordinate the charity s annual fundraising events in connection with the Mayor s Office, the Greater London Authority, the London Legacy Development Corporation and any other bodies as relevant. Identify and maintain a target list of trusts and foundations, establishing good relationships and positioning them for appropriate applications from the charity.
Work with the Executive to devise capital campaigns as required, ensuring that there are sufficient resources planned to deliver the strategy and secure the fundraising targets. Advise the Executive on appropriate commercial opportunities for the charity that arise in or around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This will include the use of the key assets on the Park for the financial gain of the charity. Deliver a range of ways to give to the charity, including maximising online giving. 3. Networking and lead generation Ensure the charity is networked with the right individuals and in the appropriate arenas. Via these relationships, secure at least one nomination annually where the charity is the nominated beneficiary. Use technology effectively to manage networking, lead generation and giving, ensuring that it improves interaction and make them more efficient. 4. Marketing and communications strategy Actively contribute to the marketing and communications strategy, ensuring that there is an appropriate balance between promotion of existing projects and fundraising. Update website and produce press releases as well as playing a key role in the social media communication with donors, stakeholders and the sector. Lead on the delivery of the strategy where agreed and as appropriate, especially in communicating with current and prospective funders. Maintain a library of images from events to use in various communications channels. 5. Human Resource Management Provide supportive and effective leadership and management of any volunteers or staff, either temporary or permanent, within your area of responsibility. Ensure that current employment, equal opportunities and health and safety legislation, together with good practice, are consistently applied within areas of responsibility. 6. Public Relations Contribute to materials and support the Executive as required on public engagements. Represent the charity at exhibitions and other events where the charity is represented, as required.
7. Additional Tasks Comply with all charity (and relevant LLDC/GLA) policies, procedures and practices. Undertake any other duties as maybe deemed suitable to the post, as agreed with the Chief Executive, and within the context of the contract of employment. Job Purpose The Fundraising and Development Manager implements a strategic approach to fundraising which may include major gifts, corporate donations, grant solicitation and in-kind resources. Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Fundraising and Development Manager performs the following duties: Plan fundraising and development activities Collaborate with the Executive and key Trustees to create and deliver a fundraising and development plan which increases revenues to support the strategic direction of the charity. Monitor and evaluate all development and fundraising activities to ensure that the targets are being achieved Monitor trends in the community or region and adapt fundraising strategies as necessary Organise development activities Develop and manage timelines for various fundraising activities to ensure strategic plans and critical fundraising processes are carried out in a timely manner Prepare and submit grant applications to generate funds for the organisation Oversee the planning and administration of special fundraising events to generate funds for the organisation Identify, cultivate and develop corporate, community and individual prospects for the organisation's fundraising priorities
Oversee the administration of a donor mailing lists and databases which respects the privacy and confidentiality of donor information Coordinate in-kind donations Engage volunteers for special fund development projects and establish volunteer management practices Co-ordinate the fundraising and development budget Work with the Executive to develop and gain approval for an annual income and expenditure budget for the fundraising and development plan Prepare regular reports on progress, budgets and expenditure related to fundraising and the management of the fundraising and development activities Report on fundraising progress to the Executive and in turn to the Development Board and Board of Trustees when necessary Promote the organisation Foster an understanding of philanthropy within the organisation Develop a communication plan to promote the organisation to its donors and maximise public awareness of the fundraising activities of the organisation Coordinate the design, printing and distribution of marketing and communication materials for development efforts With the CEO and Head of Creative Programmes, build relationships with community stakeholders to advance the fundraising and development goals of the organisation Qualifications Education Degree-level relevant qualification A certificate in Fundraising Management is an asset Knowledge, skills and abilities Knowledge of fundraising management Knowledge of charity governance Knowledge of events planning and management Knowledge of the management of volunteer resources Knowledge or experience in arts and culture, creative education and skills sectors would be beneficial Proficiency in: Fundraising software Awareness of donor management systems MS Office MS Outlook Internet, blogging and social media sites e.g. Face Book, Twitter etc.
