Tight control of Budget, Schedule and Scope along with good communication around these items both internally and externally. Weekly meetings and progress reports are the core formal communication leading into the monthly governance meeting. The Project Manager will follow the Master Terminal Implementation Methodology and use relevant associated base documents. Close collaboration with the Implementation Consultants will be required for the detail on tasks and timeframes. It is expected though that the Project Manager will understand terminal operations and the capability of the software. The Senior Project Manager s core responsibilities span a number of key strategic areas, as outlined below. Key Strategic Responsibilities Project Management Takes full responsibility for the successful completion of projects with significant business, political or high-profile impact. The responsibility extends to the full Master Terminal Implementation Methodology, from the point that the contract is singed to the handover to the support and maintenance team. P a g e 2
Ensures that the Master Terminal Implementation Methodology is adhered to through project lifecycle. Producing and maintaining documents in keeping with the outputs required by the methodology, e.g. Project Initiation Document and Specification Documents Maintains control of the project and keeps the following documents to communicate the status and decisions during the project: Project Plan- Prepares plans and tracks activities against schedule in order to deliver on time, providing regular reports to stakeholders as appropriate Budget - Monitors and controls resources, revenue and costs against project budget and manages the expectations of all project stakeholders in relation to utilisation. Communication (Progress Reports and weekly meetings minutes) Providing the assistance to the client as to the key messages around change they need to send to staff at different times during the project Change Control and Decision Log - Manages change control procedures and ensures deliverables are completed within panned cost, time and resource budgets Risks and Issues Log - Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. Internal Status Reporting to keep internal stakeholders and resources abreast of the situation Reporting to the governance group on budget, schedule, scope and risk management Ensures Project Reviews internally and externally are completed to schedule and to procedure. Ensuring that lessons learnt are shared and applied. Provides effective leadership to the project team and takes appropriate actions in collaboration with the line manager where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances. Liaising between the customer, implementation staff and development staff to ensure that expectations are met and are aligned with contractual obligations. Assist in the design and evolution of the methodology and supporting documentation and resources that supports the implementation and early customer training processes. General Senior Consultant Accountabilities The Project Manager will be required to travel throughout North and South America as part of their normal implementation management responsibilities. Working closely with clients to determine their present and future needs and proposing suitable products, services and upgrades in order to maintain and grow revenue for the organisation. Acting as the main interface between the client and the organisation to ensure an optimal level of service is provided at all times and continually seeking the opportunity to participate in client s strategic business planning processes. Ensure there is a good level of team work and communication between staff in dif ferent timezones and departments, and in line with the Jade values. Person Specification Education Batchelors degree with a focus on instructional design/delivery, technical training, education, computer science or information systems Recognised project management qualification Previous Experience 10 years project management experience Knowledge of the port and terminal industry, or at least the supply chain P a g e 4
Specifically implemented a Terminal Operating System implement or at least large scale ERP software Desired that you have been involved in a project with a large change in process or software and an awareness of change management practices Experience with large process mapping exercises Strong record of delivering product training and using a train the trainer model Technical Skills Ability to understand the configuration options within Master Terminal Ability to utilise Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Microsoft Project and Visio to a high degree of efficiency Ability with a process mapping tool such as Visio, Promapp or Xsol Ability to use other specific learning and education software as appropriate Personality Traits/Competencies Ability to travel for domestically and overseas for periods of time Flexible attitude to working in a global company to work around the impracticalities of timezones Flexible attitude to being in a small overseas office away from the head office where more self motivation and initiative may be required Manage multiple initiatives and projects at the same time Strong consultative interpersonal skills Strong written and verbal communication Track record of consistently defining and meeting schedules Demonstrate the ability to work independently or as part of a team Develop relationships across the company and with clients Attention to detail and consistency of use of terminology P a g e 5
