ROLE SPECIFICATION winstanley college JOB TITLE: RESPONSIBLE TO: Schools Liaison Officer Marketing and Admissions Manager Context Winstanley College employs approximately 200 staff and has approximately 2000+ students, primarily studying A-Level courses. Key Responsibilities/Main Duties The position of Administrative Assistant will work within a busy administration team fulfilling a variety of tasks commensurate with the role. Key Responsibilities Ownership and development of a particular administrative function or functions. Dealing with enquires both internal and external, conveying self-generated information. Expert use and training others in the use of specific College equipment used in the day to day execution of set tasks. Specific Tasks Initially the role will involve working within the Schools Liaison team. (See task sheet.) The exact nature of the role will vary within the levels of responsibility detailed above. The specific tasks associated with the role will vary annually and be set in conjunction with the Marketing and Admissions Manager and Schools Liaison Team Manager. Task Specification The purpose of the Position The key aim of the post is to ensure that prospective students receive high-quality information at events, assemblies and throughout the year so that they make an informed choice about their post 16 studies. This will involve working within the Schools Liaison Team (SLT) to provide an innovative and proactive schools liaison service which develops and maintains effective relationships with partner schools, prospective students and their parents. Main duties To prepare and deliver presentations in schools. To liaise with school and College staff in order to: o Organise activities related to the promotion of the College and its courses o Ensure that relevant people in the schools are kept informed about College courses, events and activities To attend College and partner school promotional events e.g. open evenings, careers days etc. To conduct new student interviews. To assist with the day to day administration tasks of the department including any tasks identified by line manager to support the Admissions and Marketing function. To contribute to the annual evaluation of the work of the SLT. To work within the SLT, assisting with cross-college activity and cover for other members of support staff, as appropriate.
