Trainer - Work Readiness Programs Accounting, Engineering, ICT Navitas Professional - Careers & Internships Weekends & Weeknights Sydney NSW Navitas is a diversified global education provider that offers an extensive range of educational services for students and professionals including university programs, language training, workforce education and student recruitment. The Navitas Professional and English Programs Division delivers training to individuals looking to develop their skills and career opportunities. The Navitas Careers and Learning Skills (CLS) unit is largely a student facing unit focused on English language and work readiness needs for international students and graduates. Navitas Professional - Careers and Internships is a business unit operating under the management of CLS. The position has primary responsibilities to ensure that the delivery of training and assessment activities are conducted in accordance with guidelines and instructions provided by CLS management, as follows: Ensuring a high level of customer service for all clients Delivering quality training and applying adult learning principles Producing effective learning outcomes Proactively and continuously improving professional competence Producing positive group dynamics and experience in the training room Understanding the performance criteria and critical aspects of evidence that needs to be met by the assessment Conducting, documenting and continuously improving competency based assessment Ensuring all AQF requirements are documented while conducting assessment Ensuring all internal business procedures are followed and documented while conducting assessment Ensuring students complete assessments on time Completing assessments and providing feedback to students in a timely manner Participation in assessment validation and moderation sessions as required Complying with all AQF and relevant registering bodies requirements Key Responsibilities Delivery and assessment of the following: Work-readiness programs and units of study within the Professional Year Program (incorporating BSB40215 Certificate IV in Business). As this program requires industry skills directly related to the fields of Accounting, Engineering and Information and Communications Technology, applicants with these disciplines are preferred. The Career Experience Program (incorporating BSBWHS401 Implement and monitor WHS Policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements); The Engineering Experience Program (incorporating BSBWHS401 Implement and monitor WHS Policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements); (Perth only) Study to Work programs which are tailored course offerings designed to prepare university graduates for achieving successful employment outcomes in the Australian workplace. Essential requirements Must hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor; and Must be able to demonstrate relevant vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed (Certificate IV level); and Must be able to demonstrate Industry Currency skill directly relevant to the training being provided within the previous 3-5 years; and Must be able to demonstrate current knowledge and skill in vocational training, learning and assessment activity relating to educational practice in the adult vocational education environment within the previous 3-5 years; and Demonstrated evidence of ongoing Professional Development; and Demonstrated excellence in teaching adults utilising adult learning techniques including knowledge, skills and judgment relating to the effective delivery of adult learning; and At least 2 years full time training experience (or equivalent pro rata part-time). Overview and Objectives of the Position Navitas was founded in 1994 with the goal of helping more international students succeed at university in Australia via improved student support and an extended academic year. Since then, Navitas has significantly expanded the services it offers students and clients and is creating opportunities through lifelong learning for more than 80,000 people in 27 countries every year. Navitas listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in 2004 and is now an S&P/ASX Top 100 Company, employing more than 5,500 staff globally. Navitas operates across three Divisions. The Navitas Professional and English Programs Division delivers a range of high-quality, innovative work-readiness and English language programs to individuals seeking to develop their skills and career opportunities. Navitas has a wealth of expertise in creating fully customised courses to provide exceptional learning experiences, ranging from memorable study tours and comprehensive corporate training programs to the establishment of learning and testing centres for government organisations. The Navitas (C&I) operations deliver internship and workplace preparatory programs across five Australian states to international students and graduates to develop them professionally and personally to enhance their career prospects. The unit provides career ready preparation for students seeking to enter the workforce at early stages of their professional career. C&I offers a portfolio of programs which develop foundation skills and career learning skills to enable students to progress their employment goals in their chosen career. C&I operates as a collegiate, matrix operational model leveraging the skills and expertise of the C&I and partner Navitas business units to deliver targeted and nuanced work ready and work development solutions for individuals, host companies and professional associations across Australia. The C&I team works closely with other Navitas units, to combine areas of expertise to enable a broad range of students and clients to participate and succeed in the workplace of today and the future. The Trainer, Careers & Internships is responsible for delivery of training and assessment of C&I clients and providing an exceptional learning experience and customer service. 2.
