Role title: About Health and Community Services Workforce Council The Health and Community Services Workforce Council leads and delivers workforce research, strategy and capability to position our workforce to be strong and sustainable and to make a tangible difference for the people they serve. For more than 25 years, we have worked closely with industry, government and the community as a peak body. With a focus on reconciliation and inclusion, we work collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and community members to deliver unique and comprehensive strategies that support organisations to reflect the cultural context in which they operate. Position purpose Work under minimal supervision to undertake the delivery of organisation products and services to achieve organisational outcomes and priorities. This may include: managing discrete projects; facilitating small and large groups; undertaking consultancy services; providing telephone advice and support services; development of training resources; and contract management for brokerage services. Key responsibilities and accountabilities Undertake and contribute to the design and delivery of workforce planning and development services to meet customer needs across the four arenas: o Industry representation on workforce o Research and analysis o Workforce strategy o Workforce capability. Engage with stakeholders and undertake research to identify industry needs. Design and deliver products and services that maximise participatory transformational learning. Apply project management tools and strategies to ensure high quality and efficient delivery of contracted products and services. Develop professional development and learning resources. Develop and maintain brokerage and partnership arrangements to support delivery of high quality services and products that meet industry and client needs. Develop and provide information, advice and support that meet client needs. Facilitate regional and sector consultations and engagement to support market intelligence, product development, service delivery and to build capacity. Evaluate the effectiveness of delivered products and services. Contribute to building a culture of collaboration in the organisation and across the health and community services industry whilst building and maintaining client relationships. Page 2
Skills, knowledge and experience In this type of role it is necessary to have some or all of the following: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the health and community services industry Sound knowledge and understanding of workforce planning and development Sound knowledge and understanding of training and education systems Demonstrated consultancy and facilitation knowledge and skills including for supporting learning outcomes High level of oral, written and interpersonal communication skills High level of customer service Business development Project management skills Ability to promote and influence individual and team reflective practice as part of professional development and continuous improvement Cultural capability Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in health and community services or workforce planning and development. Performance review and development In accordance with the Workforce Council s Organisation-Wide Learning Policy, a review of performance will be undertaken within the first 6 months and then at least every 12 months. This will include a review of performance against this position description and any other associated documentation.
