4 Detailed Saleyard Report - Cattle Market information provided by MLA's National Livestock Reporting Service Dalby Yarding Change report date 17/04/2019 comparison date 10/04/2019 Numbers almost halved the previous weeks level to 3,951 head. The usual panel of buyers was present and most were operating. Good quality light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock experienced very little change in price, however poor quality lines lost a further 11c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed sold to firm demand, and heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 8c/kg better. Light weight yearling heifers continued to reduce in price with losses of over 20c/kg fairly common. However medium weight yearling heifers to feed lifted in price by 9c/kg. Cows experienced some improvements in price with good heavy cows 3c dearer while the medium weight 2 score cows averaged 14c/kg better. Steer calves made to 306.2c to average 252c and mixed sex calves averaged 171c/kg. Light weight yearling steers sold to restockers at an average of 261c with sales to 288.2c, and poor quality lines averaged 193c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 276c with sales to 296.2c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to a top of 294.2c with most close to 290c/kg. Lightweight yearling heifers averaged 176c with the occasional sale to 202.2c, and the lesser quality lines average 134c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 260c to average 246c/kg. A small selection of heavy grown steers and bullocks made to 279.2c to average in the mid-to high 270c/kg range. Medium weight poor condition cows averaged 140c, and medium weight 2 score cows averaged 182c with occasional sales to 195.2c/kg. Good heavy cows made to 235c with most around 221c/kg. Bulls made to 290.2c to average 255c/kg.
