Weaner steers under 220kg topped at 260c/kg and averaged 240c/kg, weaner steers in the kg range reached 256c/kg and averaged 231c/kg. Steers in the kg range reached 261c/kg and averaged 232c/kg, and steers in the kg range reached 263c/kg and averaged 249c/kg. Feeder steers in the kg range topping at 263c/kg and averaging 234c/kg. Ian Duff, Duffields, Roma sold Limousin cross steers to 263c/kg, reaching a top of $1,059 to average $1,000. LRB Briscoe, Goomibah, Injune sold Angus cross steers to 263c/kg, reaching a top of $992 to average $927. S & R White Family Trust, Mt Saltbush, Roma sold Angus cross steers to 260c/kg, reaching a top of $547 to average $487. 6 Detailed saleyard report - cattle Market information provided by MLA's National Livestock Reporting Service Roma Store report date 12 Mar 2019 Yarding 4461 Change comparison date 05/03/2019 Cattle numbers continued to fall and were down by 1,857 to 4,461 head at the Roma Store Sale. Cattle were mostly drawn from the usual supply area and a larger panel of buyers was present with increased restocker presence included in the buyers panel, however not all processors were operating. Steers dominated the yarding. The quality was mixed and again included larger numbers of younger cattle. Prices saw some improvements for yearling steers and heifers. Cows, however, mostly continued to drop. Light weight yearling steers under 280kg to restockers rose by 5c to 10c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers under 400kg to feed rose by 7c/kg. However, heavy weight yearling steers to feed fell by 1c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers under 280kg to restockers rose by 4c to 8c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers under 400 kg to feed rose by 14c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows were back by 9c, while the limited numbers of medium weight 3 score cows dropped by 13c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows were back by 17c/kg. Calves to restockers made to 260c to average 205c/kg. Light weight yearling steers under 280kg to restockers sold to 256.2c to average 239c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers under 400kg to feed made to 263.2c to average 252c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed sold to a top of 263.2c to average 253c/kg. A sample of light weight yearling heifers under 280kg to restockers sold to 190.2c to average 176c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers under 400kg to feed sold to 209.2c to average 195c/kg. The largest sample of medium weight 2 score cows sold to 139.2c to average 113c, while the medium weight 3 score cows made to a top of 160.2c to average 142c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows made to 168.2c to average 149c/kg. The best of the heavy weight bulls 256.2c to average 231c/kg.
